I earn a dollar the gov't says for every dollar earned you pay us 10 cents of it in 'tax'. We also have 'fees' = whcih is where the gov't charges money to deliver some services or goods. What you're talking about is just the gov't seizing assets at will. The person has earned the money, the person has paid tax on the money the person wishes to GIVE the money to someone else. It's theirs to dispose of after all. And you want to say "no no - we want to take away something you've earned without after you've already paid tax on it and keep that to spend as we see fit". It's just seizing people's assets. But hey - that's what communism is all about isn't it - taking the burden of owning things away from the people Problem is it doesn't work. People just use other means to transfer the wealth before they die. We are already seeing this - in Canada you must by law leave equal shares of your estate to your children when you die assuming you don't have a spouse. Even if one kid's a drug addict and will probably kill themselves with it. So people have learned how to prevent that by disposing of their assets in a clever way before they die and it's becoming more and more of a thing. Now - most people still don't care, their kids are normal and there's no reason for them to do so. BUT - with this everyone would care and you would very quickly see work arounds. And the more the world gov'ts move to the right the less likely either of those two things are, and there's a very definite movement in that direction and people realize "vote woke go broke".
