The idea that it's anti-conservative to say children shouldn't have open access to porn is just dumb.

It's the idea conservatives know how to crack down and get tough on stuff that gives pause to consider. As evidenced by something the OP's article reports; Such suggestions have prompted widespread concern from privacy experts.

Parents should be held accountable for controlling what their kids can access on the Internet. It shouldn't matter if parents are unsure of how to use these controls because they can always hire someone to set them up for them. Like being responsible for buying what's required to ensure guns are safely stored.

Nothing wrong with concern - the devil is always in the details. And we won't know all the details till the regulation is posted long after the legislation passes.  If it passes.

But - there is specific language that addresses those concerns in the bill.

My me my - how suddenly we want it to be all about the parents to make decsions and not the state :)  what an abrupt about face :)

the fact is the parents can still decide to let their kids watch porn if they want to. What we're talking about is the 'default'.  The reality is parents aren't trained or able to reasonably keep up with the latest tech or ways around it and this is a simple solution. You just dont' like it because of who suggested it.  If this was a liberal idea you'd be saying "of COURSE we should..."

About face, what are you taking about? I said parents should be responsible and held accountable back on page 1.

Please.... read... He supports the Bill, and supports to verify users' ages before they access porn.

Which could mean simply asking users their age like many porn sites already do.   The CPC is already quite against digital ID.  You're speculating

But sang a completely different tune about parents when it came to knowing if their kids were having issues with transgender-ism and making decisions along those lines.

Nope, I've got no particular axe to grind on that topic. I see it more as a fad that everyone's overreacting to. The overreacting is even more faddish to be perfectly honest.

I can see why people like rubbing the issue of multiple genders in right wing noses but beyond that I see it more as a massively convenient distraction from far far more important things like climate change, transparency and economic inequality.

Things that Liberals are no more interested in dealing with than Conservatives. And you can bank on the fact lobbyists are subverting both as hard as possible on the three things I mentioned.

It won't work anyways, always ways around. In my day, they wouldn't let  under 18 into the drive Ins when a Blu movie played. So you just parked out on the road. Lol
