CTV forbids use of ‘Palestine,’ suppresses critical stories about Israel

Journalists employed by the media conglomerate overseeing CTV, CP24, and BNN Bloomberg allege that the organization is manipulating information concerning Israel's actions in Gaza, distorting the truth.

"Journalists said these directives are examples of a wider culture at Bell Media, describing extremely tense workplaces and a “culture of fear.” 

Editors have told journalists not to cover rallies supporting Palestinian freedom and calling for a ceasefire unless they cause significant disruption to the public. That move was “cowardly and one-sided,” one of the journalists said.

Multiple journalists who spoke to The Breach said there are plenty of employees who want to do truthful, informative work about Gaza, but they’re afraid of repercussions from management if they push back internally. 

They also said that editors and producers have said they’re scared of the backlash from higher-ups if their work draws criticism from right-wing pro-Israel groups like Honest Reporting Canada. "

Buddy, when all the conservatives here were telling you about fake news and the Trusted News Initiative all of you leftists ignored it and laughed it off.

BBC, CBC, Reuters, AP, Google, Twitter (I don't know about X), FB, WashPo, the NYT and others all banded together to combat "Russian disinformation" heading into the 2020 election. If you Google it, you can find it. Radio Canada put out a social media post about it. They thought that it was "for the good of journalism, and that it would build "trust in media" among the increasingly jaded public. Basically all they did was say the inside part out loud...

It worked for leftist peons, because they LOVE the fake narratives and also when conservatives get banned from social media for telling the truth. 

Anyone who hasn't served time in FB jail is a muppet.

Most famously the TNI collaborated to get their stories straight on the laptop and hiding the fact that there was a BSL4 lab in Wuhan, by banning people from social media for talking about them and banding together to black those stories out.

They were all together on every single covid narrative, and when they needed covid to end, so that the Liberal gov'ts could all look good, they just called it all off. In Canada deaths were up by 30% from 2021 to 2022 (deaths were also 24% higher in 2022 than 2020), but suddenly they all just stopped talking about it at the exact same time. Weird, hey? 30% more deaths equals 95% less interest somehow... 

So yeah, the leftist MSM sucks, but conservatives have been on the receiving end of their fake news propaganda for a long time, pal. Get in line.

Oh, and one other thing: when pro-Hamas protesters were jumping on the cars of senators and MPs driving in to work at Parliament Hill, the government asked their members not to talk about it in a public session, and CTV, CBC and Global all completely ignored it. So they're not entirely against Palestinian protests - they actually ran cover for them. 

I couldn't tell you what their end game is, but it's got nothing to do with the truth. We will all get the mushroom treatment, as usual. Trudeau will be protected.

The real problem with MSM is the commodification of news where news outlets are trying to attract and retain advertisers, shareholders and the audience instead of simply reporting the facts. This leads outlets to sensationalize and dramatize stories that in reality are not so sensational or dramatic and to issue editorial directions like what’s alleged in the OP
