Imagine the Covid Virus was a test by China, with it's leadership perfectly willing to accept collateral damage of their own people.

The Virus was released and in our usual unabiding fashion of dealing with crisis we proved beyond a shadow of a doubt, (with the relentless support of right wing America of course) that we are unable to deal with any disaster without eating each other in the process.

Yes the numbers don't lie folks. What will the next strain of respiratory virus be? Perhaps ten times more deadly than Covid 19. And yes they do exist. And yes our enemies now know that a large enough science denying portion of our country will make sure it's an astounding success ?

You start out with a bonkers proposition, and then try to lead to a conclusion in the real world?

China's top heavy decision making is badly structured to deal with emergencies, as we saw.  I would much rather have an open society where leadership is criticized, it is stronger because it's constantly tested and accountable.

Looks like someone has a new patronizing catch phrase !

Sir, I believe you missed my point entirely.

I guess I did

OK here then. Let's forget the Covid pandemic. And let's say our enemies are probably delighted with the handling and division a crisis situation created in our country where a strong display of intelligence and unity would have served us better. How a country handles a nationwide catastrophe says alot in the eyes of the world. And under T-Rumps and Republican leadership we failed miserably.

Given your predisposition for covid safety basement isolation, I would say YOUR OWN body parts is one of your love affairs. ;)

Right wing only?

Really?

Had more to do with an insanely unprepared government.

CDC changing its tune.

Masks aren't necessary. No wait. They are. N95s. Stop being selfish and leave those for health care workers. Use cloth. Cloth isn't good enough. Doubling up masks is better. No, one is good enough.

People are surprised the population started to tire with its inept leadership?

I was in China during the outbreak. It was airtight regarding its security.

Thats not enough to stave off something like this

Do you have any idea which Party blocked funding for the restoration of the National Healthcare Stockpile after it was depleted during the SARS outbreak?

There was a lot to be learned from our first real pandemic in over 100 yrs. Data and safeguards from the Spanish Flu was unreliable in this day and age. It was a war and strategy is adjusted as you progress, or regress in our case once Trump and his cabinet decided they were smarter than scientists. The CDC did what they could with barriers of ignorance, religion, business leaders and politics being thrown up in front of them daily.

And which party cut funding for the  pandemic response team/division of the CDC. After years of warnings from the science community that something like this was inevitable. Especially after the SARs and Bird Flu outbreaks of the 1990s.

Not true. They were hamstrung for political reasons.

Ya see @Perspektiv, even though there have always been records from the Spanish Flu, somehow it was all "unreliable". And why?

Because the one conclusion they left humanity with, was don't lock the public up.

Such efforts to excuse the administration that failed and lied endlessly about The Rona, are made by desperate little cultists who want nothing more than for everyone to OBEY.

They refuse to use the balls Gawd gave them, and instead want Young boys to lop them off.

It's all so deplorable.

Its so lonely in m'saddle since m'horse died.

Guessing you never heard of Walter Reed, eh? Cause he locked up lots of people… and it worked.

Not nearly as bad as Trump who denied the severity of COVID to serve his campaign interests.

Ironically, if he'd actually taken steps to quell its spread, he might have been re-elected. LMAO

The failure was almost entirely Trump's. The ONLY thing he did right was PROMOTE the rapid development of the vaccines, which he then FAILED to promote the distribution and use of.

Trump had no vaccines, and thus little chance. The fact the ensuing waves didn't drop dramatically in a short period of time is a testament to that.

Vaccinations to your most vulnerable, was your best means of survival.

No FACTS work with you, due to your impenetrable cognitive dissonance.
