No, if he pardons himself he's exhonorated from anything he's pardoned himself for.  Can't be litigated anywhere after that. THat's how it works.  What did you think a pardon was? :)

The moment young Ramaswamy was shut down by Sharpton — a supervillain's origin story

MARK FRAUENFELDER  9:28 AM TUE AUG 29, 2023

This exchange between an 18-year-old Vivek Ramaswamy and Democratic Presidential candidate Al Sharpton, captured at an MSNBC town hall in 2004, is like a scene from a Marvel movie depicting a supervillain's origin story.

In the clip, young Ramaswamy, overflowing with the obnoxious self-confidence he exhibited during last week's GOP debate, is shown standing in the audience, speaking into a microphone. With his attention directed at Rev. Al Sharpton, sitting on a stage, he asks, "Of all the Democratic candidates out there, why should I vote for the one with the least political experience?"

Without missing a beat, Sharpton says, "Well, you shouldn't, because I have the most political experience." Sharpton's comeback earns raucous laughter and applause from the audience. When the camera returns to Ramaswamy, we see his face contorted into a fixed grimace of repressed anger and humiliation.

Ramaswamy was only pretending that he was going to vote that year. He's voted twice in his life, once in 2008, and again in 2012. Now he is running as the GOP candidate with the least political experience. After he loses the primary in 2024, will he vote for Trump, or sit it out, as usual?

My only correction would be that VR is not yet a supervillain just a minor henchman who isn’t even certain to appear in future episodes

NOT LEGALLY CONVICTED. Duh

By YOUR standard, Trump was "convicted" of numerous ethical violations.

So guilty that his Ethics Chief RESIGNED IN PROTEST. LMAO

Exiting Ethics Chief Walter Shaub Calls Trump White House 'A Disappointment'

Quote

Walter Shaub Jr., outgoing director of the Office of Government Ethics, says there's a new normal for ethics in the Trump administration.

"Even when we're not talking strictly about violations, we're talking about abandoning the norms and ethical traditions of the executive branch that have made our ethics program the gold standard in the world until now," Shaub told All Things Considered host Robert Siegel.

Ramaswamy Has Deep Ties to Rightwing Kingpins

Quote

Vivek Ramaswamy has described himself as an ‘outsider,’ accusing rivals for the Republican presidential nomination of being ‘bought and paid for’ by donors and special interests.

But the 38-year-old Ohio-based venture capitalist, whose sharp-elbowed and angry display stood out in the first Republican debate this week, has his own close ties to influential figures from both sides of the political aisle.

Prominent among such connections are Peter Thiel, the co-founder of tech giants PayPal and Palantir and a rightwing megadonor, and Leonard Leo, the activist who has marshaled unprecedented sums in his push to stock federal courts with conservative judges.

Seems being a LIAR is a prerequisite for MAGA CULT membership. ?

Yeah, being a disappointment isn't a conviction - even he said it wasnt that they were breaking rules: 'Even when we're not talking strictly about violations,...."

So he thought they were slimy but he wasn't convicted of anything.

The law does not seem to restrict him from using it on himself Or having the vice do it if necessary.  And you're drooling again - did you need to take  a break?

Man - it'll just bake your noodle won't it if after all this he actually gets back into office before all these trials conclude and pardon's himself and never actually gets convicted :)  LOL

He has no government experience, but plenty of conspiratorial demagoguery to sell.

The candidate offered no proof for his charge. He didn’t care that his opponents have more than 123 years of public service among them, serving as vice president, governor, senator, representative, Drug Enforcement Agency administrator, undersecretary of homeland security, U.S. attorney, state legislator, county council member and combat veteran.

Mr. Ramaswamy’s public service? None. That’s ironic given that at 18 he asked the Rev. Al Sharpton, a candidate for the 2004 Democratic presidential nomination, at an MSNBC forum: “Of all the Democratic candidates out there, why should I vote for the one with the least political experience?” Add to the mix that Mr. Ramaswamy was evidently so uninterested in the nation’s direction that he couldn’t be bothered to vote in the 2008, 2012 and 2016 presidential elections.

Mr. Ramaswamy’s “bought and paid for” comment was part of a pattern of demagoguery. He regularly appeals to voters’ conspiratorial instincts. During a conversation with the Atlantic’s John Hendrickson, he said, “I think it is legitimate to say how many police, how many federal agents, were on the planes that hit the Twin Towers. Maybe the answer is zero. It probably is zero for all I know, right? I have no reason to think it was anything other than zero. But if we’re doing a comprehensive assessment of what happened on 9/11, we have a 9/11 commission, absolutely that should be an answer the public knows the answer to.” Mr. Ramaswamy later claimed he was misquoted. That is a lie; his grotesque comments are on tape.

We know exactly who was on those planes. Their names are memorialized at the National September 11 Memorial and Museum and solemnly read each year in a ceremony at Ground Zero. A distinguished commission issued a report on 9/11, which found that Islamic fanatics attacked America. Why would Mr. Ramaswamy suggest otherwise? Does he think there’s something to be gained from disrespecting the law-enforcement officers who were victims of the attacks rather than blaming their terrorist perpetrators?

Mr. Ramaswamy is quick to disregard the truth when it’s politically expedient. Discussing the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riots with Tucker Carlson at the Iowa Family Leadership Summit in July, the GOP hopeful said, “What caused January 6th is pervasive censorship.” When “you tell people they cannot scream,” he explained, “that is when they tear things down.”

It didn’t matter to Mr. Ramaswamy that President Trump’s stolen-election claims got their day in court and couldn’t be proved. Or that the militia members, Proud Boys and an outright mob Mr. Trump whipped up on the Capitol steps weren’t merely trying to scream. They beat police officers bloody trying to stop a joint session of Congress. How weird for a person seeking to represent a party that once championed law and order to excuse this sort of behavior.

There’s more. During a New Hampshire Q&A in June, a voter claimed the Federal Reserve “is illegally taking money out the back door, not through the proper channels, or adding zeroes to bank accounts to the media or maybe your political opponents.” He asked Mr. Ramaswamy, “How are you going to stop that illegal under-the-table spending of money from the Federal Reserve?”

With a sign behind him emblazoned with the word “Truth,” Mr. Ramaswamy indulged the crank rather than set him straight. “You’re correct to point out what very few people are aware of. Absolutely, that happens.”

No, it doesn’t.

It’s easy to dismiss Mr. Ramaswamy as a present-day Professor Harold Hill, the con man in “The Music Man” with a ready smile and rapid patter skinning the citizens of River City. But Hill wanted only to sell band uniforms and musical instruments. Mr. Ramaswamy wants to control America’s nuclear codes—or perhaps to occupy a comfortable seat in Mr. Trump’s cabinet.

He is a performance artist who says outrageous things, smears his opponents and appeals to the dark parts of the American psyche. There’s already a GOP candidate who does all those things, and worse. Republicans deserve a choice, not an echo.

I think the Reich Wingnut party better think this one thru ??

Xenophobia and childish nicknames are straight from the Trump playbook.

Why sink to that nonsense instead of actual reasonable objections to the candidate? He's another wealthy conspiracy-theory peddling narcissist with the political knowledge and depth of a pull-string doll, repeating trite phrases on command. Object to that. Or something else. His name has zero effect on his ability (or lack of ability) to lead the country.

Sorry but when arguing with low brow dimwits you need to use the proper tools to get under their skin. I've found arguing actual facts to be totally in ineffective and a complete waste of my time.

If you would like to discuss RamenSalami's flawed ideals with me then that would be a different story. But in the end we both realize that would be preaching to the choir.

Yesterday...while the sun was out and the temperature was up over 30...my boys had a couple girls over for a swim and visit. I heard all 4 of them say they had no intentions of having kids because they simply cannot afford them. They are all 22 and depressed because they can't even afford an apartment for themselves and have to live with their parents.

Libbies...there is gonna come a day...soon I hope...when the younger voters are going to realize what you destructive id1ots have done to the entire global economy and their are going to go wild with rage. A rage that will be directed at id1ots who trash fossil fuels in the name of your Gawd...Climate Change.

In the meantime...Biden now knows the only way he can hold onto power is to start a real war with Russia. If that happens...we all die.

You people are fcking disgusting and frankly...I hope you all face the music.

When I was 22 and just got my BSEE, I moved back home with my parents. I didn't stay there long cause I very soon got a job (took longer during a recession), and had saved enough to buy a new sports car. Then after getting my MSEE, I got another job and moved to Florida. After 2 years there working for Harris, I got a new job at TRW in Los Angeles and was on my way to making $75K a few years later.

IOW, your boys are either lazy or ldiots or both. Maybe their pessimism comes from LISTENING TO YOU. LMAO

No, those young people and their potential are the ones who will have to live with the consequences of our failure to arrest climate change. They will be the ones bearing the cost in misery and money to adapt to new ways of living.

Their rage will be directed at the aging know-nothings who arbitrarily dismissed decades of dire warnings from the entire global community of scientists because they felt mitigation would be inconvenient.

They aren't as susceptible to "internet wisdom" as you old people and are engaged on the topic already. They know you're farking them over.

Gas prices always go up in the summer here, because so many are taking ROAD TRIPS.

If you can't afford that, don't go and that'll lower the price for everyone else.

Or buy a hybrid and cut your cost of gas IN HALF, like I did.

With a salary of $75,000/year, how long do you think it would take for the average young couple to save $200,000 for a down payment? You're destructive little POS twit.

The fact you wish to argue with low brow dimwits says a lot about you.

You're essentially a crackhead who gets their new shopping cart stolen, looking down on that other one pushing a rusted one around with the creaky wheels.

Its still a crackhead o_O

"Yeah, but at least I pee in shopping mall washrooms, vs on buildings.."

Yeah, but you still would suck d*** for crack.

"I only did once, and at least use a condom!"

You're essentially arguing in the same tangent, and all am hearing is "I at least don't have HIV!" after admitting to deepthroating someone for a vial.
