We'll begin with the "reduces the deficit" piece of this "historic legislative achievement." The Inflation Reduction Act was passed in August of 2022. So far for Fiscal Year 2023 (October 2022 - September 2023) in Comparing to the national deficit of $726 billion for the same period last year (Oct 2021 - Jul 2022), our national deficit has increased by $887 billion - that is a 122% increase.
