My only comment on the original topic is that this particular individual doesn’t seem to be very good at committing to life-altering decisions so my “ideology” is to protect the integrity of the MAID program. Sex change buyers remorse doesn’t seem to cut the mustard here IMO. What if this is just another drastic decision they end up regretting? If you think the paperwork and red tape to get a sex change operation or MAID is bad, wait till you see the hoops you have to jump through to get brought back to life!

Maybe she wasn't good at making those types of decisions because she was too old when she did it? Maybe if she was in grade 3 instead of HS/college age she would have possessed the necessary wisdom and foresight to make such a decision, right? Isn't that they way leftists want it to be?

I don’t care about the topic and I made my position known that I support the denial of MAID in this case so as not to hijack the topic as you 2 spun out of control. Why does government have to provide this? If the state provides suicide services, people are more likely to commit suicide. If the state provides free sex changes, people are more likely to get them. Of course nothing is free. We pay for these services. I don’t think suicide is healthcare. I don’t think sex changes are either. In for a penny, in for a pound.  This woman’s plight was at least partly facilitated by the state, because such services are offered in the first place by our “healthcare system”, which has odd priorities that don’t always seem health-related.

State-funded and provided MAID and sex changes should be scrapped.  The only exceptions I can think of for sex assignment would be in the rare case of hermaphroditism, that kind of thing.

Perhaps instead of killing people who are depressed, traumatized, and homeless, our governments can focus on the root problems: lack of affordable housing supply, an underfunded military, and psychiatric services.  It seems that our governments would rather fund dubious procedures than address the basics like cost of living and healthcare.

Well exactly.  Army vets with PTSD and poor people who can’t afford safe housing can be euthanized to provide free sex change operations for people confused by years of gender indoctrination in schools.
