True, but this goes against a vital part of conservatism. Conservatism relies on your country being the greatest country ever with the greatest people ever. The only way bad social change can happen is if some outside entity forces the change, since the people would never want to change tradition. This is why conservatives are so quick to believe in conspiracy theories about Jews, Masons, Marxists, the Illuminati, in all cases a foreign group has forced change on the nation.

It's wrong to say conservatives never want to change... better to say that they (we) prefer to use our institutional vehicles to mae change.  You seem to mix up populists with conservatives.

That seems hyperbolic.  The rights gains to LGBTQ+ folks have been organic, coming through culture change then legal change.

Yes, hyperbolic is a prefect adjective for wokeism.  According to woke, rights gained are illusory, and/or never enough.

Also hyperbolic are claims by anti-woke crowds.   Claims such as wokeism bringing an end to free-speech, "family values", and ushering in neo-marxism.

This article nails it:

Doesn't most everyone believe that? Isn't that the point of laws?

I think the only people who would disagree are anarchists.

I don't understand what you mean by "that".

Most people have no thoughts/beliefs about such issues.

According to woke, the point of laws (made by the powerful) is to maintain and even increase their power.

Oh no, I agree conservatives are alright with some forms of change. I'm saying that when a change happens that they don't like, they can't accept that the nation wanted that change, because that would mean the nation is wrong (to them). And that goes against the narrative that country X is the best country ever. That's why when a change happens that conservatives don't like, they have to blame it on a foreign element like marxist Jews from Frankfurt.

1. You are confusing the new populist Marxists with conservatives.
2. Really ?  That makes no sense to me at all.
3. It's a bogeyman term.

a world view that says that there are certain invisible social relationships between us, grounded on oppression or oppressor relationships, and status of people based on race, gender, and sexuality; that you’re either an oppressor or oppressed based on those genetic attributes; that there are invisible societal injustices resulting from them; and that we have to be awake, alert to those injustices and then correct for them.

Quote is by Vivek Ramaswamy, the author of Woke Inc.

Having been to China, I can honestly see that their system works for them. They have airtight control of their society. Its uncanny.

Where you see so many afraid of jaywalking, because its a 6 month prison sentence if caught.

I know someone who had a friend in Hong Kong who threw out trash. They aimed for the garbage can near the Wanchai subway station, but didn't make sure it went in.

Unfortunately for them, police were patrolling nearby, so they were apprehended, and arrested.

The shaming system is also insanely effective. You also then have the media on your side to paint you as a villain.

Hong Kong protests had Chinese media masterfully pointing only to footage of protesters stomping out the Chinese flag, and the desecration of sacred Chinese symbols.

No context. This is insanely effective, as it rightfully so, enraged an entire country against a minority of youth. The pressure rapidly mounted on the government to do something.

Dissent was effectively and effortlessly crushed as a result.

People like Trudeau salivate at just this level of control.

Anyone actually believing he cares, vs wants an iron grip on power, are smoking too much of the stuff he legalized.

Being woke today has nothing to do with caring,  and everything to do with advancing socialist levels of population control via shaming, setting the moral standards regardless of if they conflict with laws, and canceling those who don't abide by it.
