You mean the stuff we were already forced to pay for against our will and thus have no ability to keep the  money and invest seperately?

Yeah, Kind of have to,

The left:  " Give me your money or I'll lock you up in jail for the rest of your life!!!"

the right "ok ok - here's my wallet, just don't taze me".

The left  "Now - i'm going to take most of your money but you can have this little bit back".

the right: err... thanks, i guess i'll take what i can get,

The Left -  "AHA!  Your accepting this is proof you actually approve of what we're doing to you all along! My socialist brother!! "

LOL :)

Just simply not true. And that stuff has never been considered to be 'communism'.

?

I suppose next we'll be told it was actually you people who came up with these things.  Eventually you'll try to take the lead on climate change action.

Do you need us to hold you a pity party or something? :)

No, like I said it's great to see you people finally getting woke, it's just a pity it took you so long.

A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.

To the left 'taking the lead on climate action' just means going to a foreign country and making a promise that you then ignore. We can do that if you like i suppose :)

Well if you and the voices in your head are happy with what we've been doing all along then we're happy too. Good luck with your continued therapy :)

Some experts believe the United States is currently experiencing a toxic charity crisis.

I.E The instinct to give, creating dependency and entitlement, vs develop and allowing the basic human dignity of being able to get oneself out and back onto their feet.

You look at places like some countries in Europe,  where some have incredibly low homelessness rates, you see a consistency. I.E affordable housing, strong emphasis on living wages, and heavy investment into critical things such as education, health, etc.

Agree, disagree?

They both equate to government control, it's just that Europe at least allows citizens live off the streets, be waitlisted for medical care, and be indoctrinated in schools.

I gotta admit, the phrase "toxic charity crisis" is thinking outside the box.

But you have to blame the ONE entity responsible for this:  Democrats. They created the welfare state that created generations of lazy sluts who download baby after baby and lose the father just to get a welfare check. 75 percent of all black children today are born into single parent families. The black family wasn't this bad off in the 50s BEFORE THE CIVIL RIGHTS ACT.

There's nothing the federal government can do about education other than waste tax dollars, since it is always controlled at the state level. Teachers enter the profession and work their asses off, only to have to deal with spoiled little brats who won't do the work, disrupt class and complain to their equally spoiled brat parents when they fail a test. Government can do almost NOTHING about that. Spending more money will not solve anything, since today we are spending more per student than at any other time in history.

Every wage is a living wage, if you live within your means.  If you work flipping burgers, you can't afford a two million dollar beach house, a fleet of Mercedes and six months of paid vacation.

Toxic Charity Crisis, huh?

Pretty damned accurate.

How's that working for the US?

Case in point. As I said they are not a “charitable” or “generous” country they are predatory and the worst of the developed countries in tems of their society safety net. . All of the examples I gave at the start of my last post are real examples of things tjat happen in the US that are almost unheard of in other advanced countries. Consequently they have the worst crime and poverty of other peer countries. Maybe the the 4 European PIGS countries are still worse on paper but they were basically banana republics and halfway third world right up to the end of the Cold War.

I think you missed his point. You had said you need a system with minimal crime and abject poverty.

Well the us has poverty and wherever there is poverty there is more crime.

In fact that's largely true of most countries.  Crime tends to go down when there's less poverty.

First off - that's not socialism.

The hunters eat the liver. They get their share first. There has always been an incentive to achieve for the community.

If CNN gave an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of typewriters, leftists would believe everything they typed.

If you missed something on the Cultist Narrative Network, don't worry, the dolt horde here will make sure everyone hears it.

Kamala didn't get where she is because of her achievements or anything that came out of her mouth.

Well sure. Believing in a free society and a market based economy certainly doesn't mean that people don't contribute to the group. Even wolves get that.

But of course - the lefties have to cry and gnash their teeth and rend their garments every time the right doesn't act as they imagine they would, and the right are all uncaring monsters who'd enjoy pointing and laughing as others starve dontchaknow ?

Some social programs make sense, in my opinion. You lose your job, you get insurance protections to help you back to your feet.

Free education, affordable medical care.

I am eluding to hand outs. Someone on welfare for decades, and showcasing zero disability, is living off of hand outs. This precisely proves my point. It creates a dependency, as well as a cycle.

Why work, when I can get pregnant, best yet have 4 kids and make nearly 2K a month from government cheques (of course the amount isn't exact, but simply to illustrate the mindstate I grew up around in the slums).

Hand outs don't work.

Being a dignified black family used to mean something.

Now, many of my peers when I was younger would call me white, for wanting to read and spending hours at the library.

I was trying to be white, apparently.

I knew so many welfare frauds, who didn't want "to be a slave to the white man" by working for them.

Yet preferred to be a slave to what they can't afford, via poverty and begging the government for money to survive.

There goes your sense of pride and dignity.

It's like slavery without the chains. It's the elephant that's tied to a post with a little silk rope.

The dems pretend to be on the side of black people, as if that's not racist and divisive, and they feed black people a narrative that the cops wanna kill them and no one wants to hire them. Sure, that was true enough back when the Dems weren't shy about associating with the KKK, but society has grown past the Dems' glory days.

Whoever takes that Obama/Biden narrative to heart, and grows up believing that being educated is a waste of time, is forever going to be on the outside looking in. Not exactly slaves, but still tethered to one of the bottom rungs on the economic ladder.

Even if black people want to run their own businesses, being educated in bookkeeping, accounting and tax laws is a key driver of success. There are people who bring in a crapload of money but are still broke because they don't know how to manage their expenses.

Like I always say, if you hired a life coach to help you have success in your business, he'd never tell you to operate with a bunker mentality. I.e., he'd say the exact opposite of what the Dems say.

Totally off subject, but that's how I see the glorification of street and jail life within this culture.

To celebrate going to jail as a rite of passage, you're essentially celebrating slavery.

Slave wages, hard forced labor. Jails especially in the US are an insanely lucrative entity.

Where else could you pay someone well below minimum wage, and get them producing everything from your license plates, etc.

They are in no rush to fix communities, but the haste with which they build new jails with, is dizzying.

Scary that they're building a lot of jails... What are they expecting?

It seems like they're busy de-criminalizing everything and lightening sentences, so it doesn't make much sense.

Yea people on welfare live really well?. Everyone wants to sign up. Go apply for disability, let me know how your doing after your 3rd appeal rejection. When I went out on full disability for osteoarthritis at the age of 64 it had to be proven with X-rays, MRIs, two orthopedic doctors opinions and an SSDI Dr. The process took a year. So Sir your gastric releases from the most obvious part of your anatomy are nothing more than farts in the wind

But even there -  public medical care is just basically insurance. It's not 'free' really.  It's manditory insurance with only one insurer and we can discuss wether that's a good idea or not but it's not even a 'hand out', in the course of your life you're just as likely to need that as much as anyone else and you pay into it accordingly, so it's no different than any other insurance. People who don't pay taxes kind of getting for free but lets get real - eveyrone pays SOME tax.

Unemployment as well - it's hard to even think of it as a 'social program' really - its just gov't managed insurance based on the idea that the gov't is a better choice than the free market for that particular insurance.

Education  that's more of a social program i guess.  It does make sense tho because thats where employers get their labour force from. But it's still a social program, there's  no law that people have to take something that is marketable afterwards.

They often do.  Simple lifestyles and a litlte undocumented work on the side and you can do fairly well. I knew a guy who'd wash windows for businesses for cash and did fairly well at that and collected welfare. IT meant he didn't have to work much at all and he'd get by (pretty much not at all in winters. )

Really. So you didn't earn any unemployment insurance during that year? Whoooops...

And sure, you may have to submit doctors reports every year.  Oh noes, That takes WAY more time than working.

Its all about perspective. If you come in from a 3rd world country where you have squatter areas, raw sewage everywhere rats, etc or the streets, welfare is a cake walk.

You clearly didn't grow up in the hood if you don't know what am talking about.

I know plenty on disability. Someone I know defrauded the government ailments harder to prove. IE depression and back injury.

If you're very smart, you will find ways to game the system.

Once on it, its hard to get out.

You don't get unemployment when applying for SSDI. I received private ins thru my union for several months then retired. 6 months later my reg SS was switched into SSDI, increasing my monthly benefits by 750 dollars for life and I received a healthy retro check from the gov because you get paid from the time of disability onset. Luckily I belonged to a strong NY union that covered my time out of work. Whoooooops....
