herbie Posted September 9, 2022 Report Posted September 9, 2022 Driving is a joy and you'll always be able to. It will just cost you more. It's 2022 and you can't ski all weekend at Whistler for $20 anymore either. Think about current stupidities. Why can I fly to Amsterdam cheaper than to Toronto or Halifax? Quote

I thought a much larger proportion of Canada would be north of the 60th. Kinda ruins Canada's reputation of being a winterland. Yet something like half of Canada's territory is north of the 60th and 1/40 of the population live in that area. That must have created serious challenges for the federal government. In Finland we are told that of all the people north of the 60th something like a third are Finns as Finland is entirely within that area. Has to be admitted though that the Gulf-stream makes life easier. In Canada you don't have that advantage. Edited October 29, 2022 by -TSS- 1 Quote

North of the the Pr George/Edmonton/Saskatoon/Winnipeg line...there's heck of a lot of wilderness and not much else. Ontario and Quebec are pretty much all wilderness outside the Windsor/Hamilton to Quebec City area. The Maritimes are also fairly devoid of much outside Halifax/St John/St John's areas. We cram the bulk into Lotus Land (Vancouver and the Island) and Toronto/Montreal. Shoehorn them all together... 1 Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.
