Hard to believe but there we are, so neither the Liberals nor the Conservatives will turn off the spending taps. The argument is that we’re investing in people and infrastructure, making the country stronger and more productive. It’s a liberal argument that has precedents in JFK’s 60’s when he printed Greenbacks and the middle class grew. Basically the best economy has a huge middle class and good trust and social cohesion, rather than class warfare, urban versus suburban, etc. Basically have policies that lift all boats.
