What I want is genuine competition in the sector - you know, capitalism.

Funny how you invoke government price controls imposed by the NDP as "capitalism" tho,  leftist clown hack.

Nobody in Canada wants capitalism, small 'c' communist country;  everybody wants national helicopter mommy to pay for everything.

I'd like to see the Kneedippers get in, just so Canada will get short sold, and deservedly so.

It would be pure enjoyment to see the NDP flail as the Government and I would feast on Canadian economic carcasses with glee.

Creative Destruction, bring it on, lefties, you want capitalism, you're gonna get what you are asking for.

Any yet, despite Trudeau’s spending and deficits, Canada has a AAA credit rating and the lowest debt to GDP ratio in the G7.  Hard to believe but there we are, so neither the Liberals nor the Conservatives will turn off the spending taps.  The argument is that we’re investing in people and infrastructure, making the country stronger and more productive.  It’s a liberal argument that has precedents in JFK’s 60’s when he printed Greenbacks and the middle class grew.  Basically the best economy has a huge middle class and good trust and social cohesion, rather than class warfare, urban versus suburban, etc.  Basically have policies that lift all boats.  Both the Republicans and Democrats do it too.  NDP want full on socialism.

Bullshit. Show us evidence that the NDP and Greens have ever contributed to the sort of geo-political vandalism that constitutes US rhetoric and tactics.

Just because they are less pro-war than the Democrats doesn't mean they don't steal the vast majority of their talking points, especially on domestic issues. Democrat Farm Team is obvious, if you can't find any evidence of that, you aren't looking for it, or you're deep in denial.

It seems to me that there are far more nutjobs on the left than on the right. It is primarily leftists that are opposed to free speech, which means any and all opposing views. ANTIFA is a leftist group and a perfect example of their sick mindset.

I suspect there'll always be more fill-in-blank-lefties simply because progressives make up a bigger chunk of the population than conservatives.  There's a pretty fundamental reason (beyond good common sense) why the world has such a left-wing bias.

As for the term nutjob that could mean anything - but to perhaps clarify that a little better I doubt schizophrenia rates would be higher/lower amongst conservatives/progressives.

Actually its the reverse that's occurring - right-wingers trying to polish their halos by co-opting good ideas they couldn't come up with to save their lives..

The right has plenty of good ideas, and it's the left that can't come up with any ideas to save their lives, all they have is Orange Man Bad.

Oh Dougie, do you not use a phone any more? Cell phone rates in this country are absurdly high. I don’t care who raises that point - it needs to be said.

It’s mildly amusing that somebody would be so off the political chart to consider me left wing. Any proper leftie would be horrified by that.

I'm too rich to notice my phone bills, I can afford the rule of the elites, because frankly I am one of them.

None the less, the Kneedipper promises of being able to effectively impose price controls on the market is just more fairy's and unicorns for the Canaderps.

That is how you will dismiss any proof that the left in America and Canada very often use the same talking points. Reality be damned, if it doesn't fit your confirmation bias, you just put your head in the sand and believe what you want to believe regardless of the facts.

What proof? What examples? What confirmation bias? What sand? What do you mean by left in America and Canada anyway, Democrats and Liberals?  You gotta be kidding.

Democrats and Liberals, Democrats and New Democrats, Democrats and Greens. All on the left, all use the same talking points quite often.

The fact that you think there is a meaningful difference between these groups, and that when bushcheney points out examples of them pushing the same ideological nonsense as the American Left, you just say "try harder", you are the one who has to be kidding.

Eyeball's been living under a rock, he doesn't have a clue where these talking points are coming from, he thinks the Canadian Left made them all up on their own through "common sense". He's also a knee-jerk anti-American who refuses to believe the left in America and Canada are linked in any way, because then he'd have to question what he calls "common sense", instead of being able to pretend all the left wing kooks who do exist happen to be American and all the Canadian Left Wing Parties are just following "common sense".

Not at all. Canada's Greens and New Democrats are not even remotely supportive of the militarism and corporate favouritism usually on display by the others. Not even close.

I don't think there's any difference worth mentioning at all between Liberals/Democrats and Conservatives/Republicans.

They came from progressive people. What, you think America invented the left or something?

Keep trying.

Pointing out that differences exist does not negate the similarities or the use of common talking points that originated in America. Your tunnel vision is very apparent, and you refuse to look beyond your blinders while indulging your confirmation bias.

They came from progressive Americans, only after it was popularized in America did Canadian Progressives pick that talking point up and run with it. Acting like Canada didn't import that shit from America is being willfully ignorant.
