The article highlights financial issues but doesn't address any issues with it's political bias or motives regarding politics.

Irony alert. The Snopes style fact checking at the bottom does the same trick Snopes used in the OP.

They claim they've been founded in the mid-90's but nothing can be found to verify that. So unproven.

Harris' father claims he's descent from a Slave Owner but nothing can verify that. So unproven.

Same treatment.

Both Youtube and Google over the past year have changed the algorithms to push MSM content to the top. I follow some conservative people on Youtube. Searching for specific topics I will get MSM results pushed to the top that have low view count. While the conservative with over a million views is pushed down or to another page.  This has been proven already on Youtube by many people.

Time's Man of the Year refers to how newsworthy they were, not how awesome.

Did they make the 9/11 hijackers "Times Magazine People of the Year" in 2001? Has there been a bigger news story since the year 2000?

Their criterion is theoretically to only name the people who are the most newsworthy, but if you read the list it's still limited to people who make the news in a good way, not in a bad way.

Hitler would be Times Man of the Century, by a long shot, if being newsworthy was their only criteria.

Snopes is not inaccurate. You can't provide one example of it being inaccurate. You're very inaccurate, however, when you say no Trump officials commited crimes. They're all in jail for a reason.

I provided two examples of Snopes being inaccurate. You can debate me on that if you want, otherwise you lose, as usual.

Can you provide a cite to CNN's Russian collusion predictions?

I thought not.

https://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2018/07/19/donald-trump-putin-russia-cbs-interview-ac360-sot-vpx.cnn

Here's a CNN talking head saying that Trump's team was open to collusion, trying to collude, etc, while talking about the infamous meeting. The same one that Mueller wrote 2,500 words about. The same meeting that Mueller was asked about last week, when he said that investigating why the same woman met with DNC staffers the day before and the day after the Trump meeting was "out of his purview".

Their prediction all along has been that he's guilty. That's not up for debate.

I accidentally put this with the previous reply. It was for this post.

To be honest, it's not easy finding clips of people making claims that they already have actual evidence.

If you watch from 3:05 to about 4:30 you'll find a great example of CNN grossly overstating the connection between arrests made by the Mueller investigation and their relation to Russian collusion. 192 criminal charges.....blah blah blah then ends with "you get the picture". But none of the blah blah blah says anything about Russian collusion.

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2017/10/31/hannity_on_indictments_one_justice_system_for_the_clintons_the_left_and_another_for_everyone_else.html

Here's some info on Manafort's charges. That's a big part of the 192 charges (many of which were against 13 random Russians who will never set foot in America) by Mueller's team, and a big chunk of the jailtime handed out. Prosecutors were originally requesting "minimum 19 years jail time", they offered him reduced jail time for dirt on Trump, and none of the charges were related to collusion. He ended up with less than 4 years jail time. But when they talk about "FACTS" this is the first thing they bring up. Utter horseshit.

You might know all this now that the trial is over, but CNN was spinning these unrelated arrests like collusion gold.

Anyways, this is unrelated to the fact that I busted Snopes for being left-wing fakt chuckers. Read the OP. Debate the posts that are on-topic here. We can debate the witch hunt in another thread.

Go read all that again, and yes, Snopes is totally busted. You're not even trying to defend the content of their crap posts. No one is. It's indefensible. AKA garbage.

Them being wrong on 2/2 is bad enough imo.

The thing with the fact checker is that you usually go there when you don’t already know what the correct answer is. Now that I know they’re not honest in 2/2 instances, why would I take them as an authority on anything else?

2 for 2? Wouldn't that be 2 for the thousands of articles Snopes has?

And what's the second one? You've only cited an instance where they didn't take the word of Harris's father as Gospel.

If it even makes a difference to you that they’re accurate more often then they intentionally lie then you can go ahead and use him as a fact checker. I try not to get my information from people who I know to be active liars.

The OP is not a lie. It's just an unwillingness to use the one report as Gospel.

Many journalists won't publish things unless the can verify facts from multiple sources.

But they still reported on what was said, they just didn't conclude it as fact.

Of course.  And good fact sites report their issues and mistakes also.

The people who are against Snopes often like flawed sources like FOX or even anonymous blogs and YouTubers.

Even if 2 were actually incorrect that would be a remarkable average.  But people don't like objectivity, especially the new right which has infested MLW of late.

D Harris’s comment stands as the written & published testimony of a member of society in high standing, on a subject where he is the world’s leading authority until proven otherwise - his own grandmother and great grandmother.

He’s not blonde with blue eyes, pretending to be a ‘visible minority’ and citing a vague claim from his grandmother that he never bothered to follow up on.

He’s very specific about names of people that we have every reason to believe he should know.

His word stands as the statement of record until he is “disproven”. The burden of proof isn’t on him to prove his own grandmother was. It falls on someone else to disprove it, period.

I love how you give such deference to her father.

I don't dispute his claim either. Nor does Snopes, they just say they can't independently verify. It didn't post that the story was false.

He is a man of high standing within the community with no reason to lie, we have every reason to believe that he knows the truth,  so assigning the words “unproven” to his claim is bunk. His is the statement of record until it is “disproven”.

Harris’s father grew up with people who were closely related enough to people who knew for sure. He grew up in that location, and was baptized in the church made by Brown.

Likelihood = relatively high. Status, not disproven.

Here’s one for ya. Go to Snopes and see if they caught Dr Ford in any actual lies. I couldn’t find any examples.

For one- she said that she didn’t know that the Republicans had offered to bring a polygraph test to her. That’s impossible because it was widely reported on the news, and her own lawyers were notified. I live in Canada and I knew. Total bullshit.

So, in short, if CATO is a right-wing or neutral org that backs up AOC’s accusation that border guards are forcing people to drink from toilets or inflicting other evils on them for no good reason and the Republican government is party to it then you are correct.

If CATO is backing the original Republican claim that there was a crisis at the border (which was accurate) and inhumane conditions were a result of overwhelmed guards, detention centers, etc then you’re completely out to lunch.

That’s for another thread though. Go be wrong over there on this topic.

In this thread you have to be wrong about Snopes.

You can do it eyeball. I have faith in you.

Wow.

I’m taking you at your word that they’re some conservative group that made the same evil/criminal accusations, at the time you stipulated. Cite the exact quote at the exact time that means exactly what you said. It’s your Holy Grail.

In order for you to be correct they need to have said that border guards were inflicting unnecessary evils and it was just because the government wanted it that way, not because of underfunding or overcrowding.

When you prove that they said words to that effect then your posts will have meaning and I’ll look into it.

Right now all your posts are crap.

All that CATO did so far, as per your own quotes, is make statements to the effect that there’s a crisis at the border and the border is being overwhelmed, which is right in line with what the Republicans were saying all along, back when the Dems were saying “the crisis at the border is fake”.

The onus is on you to prove that CATO made a statement which is in line with AOC’s idiotic lies and I’ll look into it.

Provide the meaningful quote. The money shot. The zinger. The gotcha. Not just the statement that proves that there’s a crisis at the border due to underfunding and overcrowding. Find that and then the ball is in my court. For the twentieth f’ing time. Find the quote where CATO is saying things similar to AOC. Go. Now.

WTF don’t you understand eyeball? You’re the one who said the proof is out there, not me.

I still find it entertaining that if you find one Snopes article you quarrel with, the entire site is then deemed as trash.

That standard is not the same given to Right-Wing media or Trump.
