And if you've gone through enough court documents you will find that a plaintiff's beliefs often is not in line with how the case plays out.

Of course you are correct.  The court documents don't say everything.  Renata may also be holding back some dirty laundry in case Doug loses.

I wonder if we went back in  time on this board to see if people that ripped her for just being rob's wife , are now supporting her.

Yes, that would be interesting.  I don't know anyone who has supported her, except maybe when Rob Ford was said to have threatened and assaulted her.

“The media, the pollsters, they don’t want us to win,” said one blast a week ago. “So they’re making up numbers to write stories about NDP momentum.”

Looks like 4 more years of the paranoid rage machine from this idiot.  To be honest, I am open to see what he can do with the province as I was with Trump.  But unifying the province should be the #1 priority of any politician these days.  If Doug wants to run his province on a disunity message it may serve him, but it won't serve the province.

The basic inability to prioritize, organize and set up a plan is something that should raise alarm bells here.  But it doesn't matter as Doug is a done deal for premier.  Enjoy your one term, Doug.

I'm a bit confused about this, given it directly followed your quoted material which was.

Deco, they said, was well run under Doug Ford. But after the 2010 election, when he stepped away from day-to-day management, it descended into something between managerial gridlock and absolute chaos under the leadership of Randy Ford, Doug and Rob’s brother.

It sounds like Doug was actually a good manager, but when his brother took over things went to hell. So this would seem to reflect badly on his brother, not Doug.

Augh.  I misread this: "leadership of Randy Ford, Doug, and Rob's Brother "

Embarrassing for me, and I am actually glad to hear that he was a good manager.  Full retraction here.

He can work on the unity thing, but don't expect that to include the media. Like many conservatives he doesn't believe the media will give him a fair hearing because he's not their kind of people. And to be fair, he ISN'T their kind of people.

And really, what's the alternative? A dogmatic and not very bright socialist party leader who is hostile to business and the profit motive, promises to make Ontario a sanctuary province for illegal immigrants, and can't imagine any circumstance where a government led by her would ever legislate anyone back to work?

Horwath is a dreary speaker - wall to wall cliches especially ‘everyday families’. Her supporters look bored stiff as they listen to her.

This lawsuit against Ford could not be more cynically timed. Crazy family.

Timing? At best it appears to be blackmail - pay up or we'll go public. At worst, it's some sort of manipulation by the anti-Ford camp to take advantage of Renata's questionable mental state. Either way, there's a bad smell emanating from it.

I’d go with the ‘at best’ interpretation here - bizarre behaviour from a crazy in-law.

How can it be Doug's fault if someone files a lawsuit 3 days before the election?

It's that kind of mentality that encourages extortionists! Anyone can extort a politician by simply making threats!  An allegation can kill a career - we know that!  Look at MeToo!  A politician is likely to pay up whether he's innocent or not, to save his career.

Now, why would Doug Ford not simply pay up if the allegations are true?  That he refuses to, could also mean that.........

...........he's a man of principles.

Of course, we don't know the details.

https://ca.news.yahoo.com/pc-leader-doug-ford-faces-233138029.html

But it makes me question why file a lawsuit now........3 days before the election?   Why wait until now?

I read the edition of Global News.  It edited the statement of Doug's mother.  It didn't mention the part about the widow's struggle with drug addiction.  That information is crucial.  I suspect Global News to be biased.

Here is a piece from the Ottawa Citizen.

If this was from broad, I'd give him the benefit of the doubt, but coming from his own sister in law, there has to be some truth to it.

There is also evidence he has financially mismanged deco as well, so I believe there is truth here, he would not be the first man to skim from a business!

Why would he?  These trup type figures stay in office of the votes of angry poor people who think they are pulling one over by voting against their own interest.  You make $14 an hour but you are voting for a guy who will stop your wage from increasing.

You're not getting it.

What good is $14 bucks?   heck, you can even aspire to raise it to $30 minimum wage!   What good would that do if you can't find a job???

All you do is provide a determined motivation for big corporations to turn to modern technology to replace people!  We see it at WalMart - those check-out rows of machines!   They're gonna do it at fastfood joints, wait and see!   Robotics will also play a big part in some of them, like the robot that flips 300 burgers!

Big corporations will be willing to invest millions in modern tech.  Heck, just getting rid of the Union, is enough incentive for them.

Just because it comes from a family member, does not guarantee that truth is present.

What I question is the timing of this lawsuit.  It smacks of extortion/blackmail!    It also raises the question that someone from either one of the two parties (Liberals/NDP), could've gotten to the widow, and maybe a deal was struck.  If it's true that the widow has addiction problems - it wouldn't take much to get her.

It's easy to throw family under the bus  - especially in-laws. Heck, these days, mothers do it even to  their own unborn, for convenience sake!

The star went and looked, no moeny was distributed from the estate to the kids, Ford got caught lying.  Plus if he is honest, why doesn't he just show the media his disbursements?  Because he didn't pay anything, he pocketed his brother's money, Renata is telling the truth.

How was he caught lying?  What did he say?  Cite.

I very much doubt that.   Those "dirty laundry" - if there are any - would've been the leverage needed to get Doug to give money.

The time to expose everything would've been at that same day they talked to the media.  Their aim was to hurt Doug's chances of winning.

You've been duped with The Star's anti-Ford headlines again.....read it and tell me if you think that is fair reporting.....

Here's the huge, bold headline:

Quote

Rob Ford estate file shows $1.1 million in assets — and no indication of any payout to widow and children

Here's the actual content from their own story:

Quote

The listed beneficiaries on Ford’s will, which is now filed in a Toronto court, include Renata and the couple’s two children, though the will stipulates the children’s money would be held in trust until they are adults.

I'm afraid your picture is not worth the proverbial thousand words as it fails to convey whatever message you intended. It can be taken in several different ways. Linking the two suggest you think they'e the same kind of person with the same kind of appeal and policies, but they're not.

Trump is a train wreck to watch.  Doug Ford is going to be another train wreck to watch.  That's the ONLY connection between them that they are both terrible leaders.
