Provide an example of this. It's not like a logical argument to just make an outlandish claim like that if you can't back it up.

The war you cite was a religious conflict. More a war of Capitalism vs Communism. Sure the United State is a largely Christian nation, but their conflicts don't appear to put forward the goal of preaching the Good News of Christ.

Many Vietnamese were/are staunchly Catholic....already.

You have to remember that this whole mess has come about as a result of yet another huge USA lie. The alleged 911 hijackers is a fiction just the Maine, Gulf of Tonkin, Anthrax scare, ... .

Science tells us that all three towers were blown up and you folks just jumped on the lying US bandwagon, without giving it any thought whatsoever.

Vietnamese traffic cops were not to be messed with...by anyone. MACV didn't handle local infractions.

It was simply just a massive series of war crimes by the US on the people of Vietnam. The equivalent of the Nazi invasions of European countries. It had nothing to do with communism. It had everything to do with the US wanting to take over European colonies to rape and pillage.

Why do you ignore the gook hockey, the dropping people out of helicopters, the weekly MyLais, the saturation bombing of Cambodia, the napalming, the Phosphorus "shake and bake", the depleted uranium, the deformed Iraqi and Vietnamese children, the women having their breasts slashed off, the beheadings, the ... ?

So the Cold War was a fabrication?

Why are some people wanting this to be so much about 'religion' and not just accept the simple fact that we have been, for so long, been fucking with people around the world and now we're experiencing the consequences?

A guy gets in a car and drives through people. Then gets out and starts stabbing. This sounds like a guy who has lost the plot, most likely created by rage. Where is this rage coming from? Is it because Muslims have this unique rage and thirst for revenge? People who subscribe to other religions do not have this rage?

"What do you think of Western civilization?" Gandhi was asked. "I think it would be a good idea," he said.

Completely. A huge US whitewash, brought about by the best propaganda system the world has ever known. If the communists were so intent on world domination, why, in heavens name did they [Russia and China] help the Vietnamese and Koreans drive out the invading hordes and then go home?

Because the people who are doing the violence make it about their religion. Saying Allah Akbar before committing an act of violence is an indication that Religion is factor.

Could say the same about Afghanistan in the 80's. Also, why are Germany and Japan Independent nations now?

Remember: the REAL victim is Islam.

Poor, poor, Islam.

I love the strangeness of some people who get all emotional and then throw their arms in the air, screaming "why?!" when these attacks happen, then they are SO READY to defend things like the Vietnam war, where hundreds of thousands of people were turned into ash. Or the Iraq war where hundreds of thousands of people were maimed and decimated. Or the drone attacks that have left thousands of innocent people dead. Or... I can go on... Those are all okay and can be explained. No human emotion and empathy is necessary. But.... OMG SOME BROWN GUY KILLED 4 PEOPLE!!!!11 OH CHRISTIAN GOD! HELP US ALL! THEY'RE COMING TO GET US!!!

It's amusing that when a white person commits an act of violence, it's automatically attributed to Right-Wing Nationalism, but when it's a Muslim, we can't blame the religion it has to be a measured response to this American Imperialism we still have yet to prove.

What do we blame for you being OKAY for the killings of the Vietnamese, Japanese, Arabs, South Americans, Aboriginals, etc. by the West?

Throwing the Japanese in there kind of throws your argument to pieces. WW2 wasn't a justified war now? Many of the other wars were a response to the Cold War, the Soviets were just as "Imperialistic" as you claim the US were. That was the war being fought then.

I'm not defending the US foreign policy though. But I'll also not let claims of war crimes go without sufficient citation.

I don't believe shrugging off Muslims killing civilians now because of Wars that happened in the 40's, 50's and 60's is terribly productive.

Throwing not one, but two nuclear bombs on cities, where human beings live, cannot be justified by someone who is not a psychopath.
