When Trump demoted Christie, and replaced him with Pence he told advisers he wanted to tap Mr. Pence’s Washington experience and contacts to help move the process along.

I guess Trump was afraid too many alligators would go down the drain, so he want's Pence to catch a few of them.

I'm willing to predict that all these hangers-on are history. Trump was VERY clear at his rallies that the swamp strays over both sides of the House.

Obama was very aggressive after he won in 2008.   Told Republicans to sit in the back of the bus.

Chris Christie...demoted to secretary of shine my shoes.

Christie held the role for months, well Pence was bouncing around 3-4 different States a day.........Christie, along with Gingrich and Carson are now vice chairs of the committee.....hardly a demotion, more so giving the top position to Trump's number two, who's now free from campaigning and fundraising.

That's what they're calling it...not my terminology.

I think he'll look quite dashing leading the Trump Transistion Team wearing an ultra-wide orange jumpsuit.

Why would he be wearing one? There is no evidence of wrongdoing warranting charges, let alone a conviction.

Newt will be honored as a 'Great Republican' and told to do just that...back of the bus, sir.

I guess that's subjective........if one considers a senior cabinet spot "back of the bus"...

It is quite subjective being my opinion.

If Newt wants to MAGA...then welcome! If not...

The idea is to actually do things...get things done. What those things are...well...another thread.

They......as in the media?

I wonder what "they" thought the Vice President elect would be doing for the next several months.

Sworn testimony from his chief of staff and two senior Port Authority execs that he knew exactly what was going on, with the convictions coming the week before the election. There's an open "official misconduct" case against him that is being allowed to proceed as of a ruling delivered in October.  There's testimony from people at the Port Authority that about the fight the New Jersey appointees put up to keep the lanes closed and to re-close them once they had been re-opened. One email warned "Albany will hear from Trenton!" which is pretty unambiguous.

Only a king-sized sucker would believe that B-listers like Kelly, Baroni, and Wildstein would come up with the plan on their own. Only a king-sized sucker would believe that Christie would let the lanes stay closed unless he wanted them to.

The biggest obstacle to putting Christie on trial is that everybody who could possibly prosecute the case was appointed by Chris Christie himself. Nonetheless, I really want to see the case go to trial, because first off it's a sickening and despicable abuse of political power that should make people-- especially "Drain the Swamp!" people-- sick to their stomachs. And second because I think he'd look like The Great Pumpkin in an orange jumpsuit.

It doesn't mater what "I believe" (or anyone else), but what can be proven.

Why no praise for Kellyanne Conway, who is the first women to successfully lead a presidential political campaign in U.S. history ?

Trump switched to Conway in August...she is from...New Jersey.

White House Press Secretary- Kellyanne Conway

I fully expect her to fulfill a senior role in a Trump administration......she just spent the last several months as the face of Trump through media interviews....clearly she was successful in "translating" the Trump "message"....what better job for her then to do it on a daily basis.

Roger that, but I'm speaking to the significant roles that several women played in getting Trump's message out.   There were other surrogates effectively fighting back the raging mob on cable television, using their vagina powers for good...not evil.

If all the Trump haters have is Bridgegate in New Jersey, they obviously have not visited Camden recently.

Either way, it looks like Christie is being put on the back burner, perhaps a nod to those protesting his position as chair of the transition team, now being chaired by Pence.

Conway really deserves a lot of credit for this win, she out-manouvered Hillary to be sure.
