Big Guy Posted September 14, 2016 Report Posted September 14, 2016 Edward Snowden is the most famous whistle blower ever. He is now asking for a pardon from President Obama: Pardon President Obama has already exercised his presidential right to pardon a number of Americans in jail for a variety of reasons. There is a growing ground swell in the USA to convince Obama to pardon Snowden. Do you think Snowden should be pardoned? The_Squid Posted September 14, 2016 Report Posted September 14, 2016 (edited) Sure he should. Your title for this thread really sucks... Edited September 14, 2016 by The_Squid Quote

Queenmandy85 Posted September 14, 2016 Report Posted September 14, 2016 (edited) He should follow Ali's example. Ali took a stand, pled his case in Court and took his punishment. Snowden should argue his case in Court and take whatever the Court decides. I'm sure he knew what he was committing to when he acted. eyeball Posted September 15, 2016 Report Posted September 15, 2016 Your government is the only traitor here. It's a pretty sad commentary on our times that pointing out a government's lies and malfeasance is considered a crime. I agree, but at the same time was this the only way he could have done it? Did he have to steal and then release ALL of those thousands of documents to get his point across? Did he have to bring them into the hands of his country's 2 biggest biggest rivals, China/Russia? I find it very hard to believe both countries don't have those files and haven't put that guy in a room and interrogated him. It's impossible that the Russians haven't been spying on him 24/7 since he arrived there. Who knows, the guy could be a spy himself. Maybe he was paid very well. And the guy seems to be very comfortably enjoying the notoriety of it all. He also had an NSA job in Hawaii. If you want to be a spy anywhere in the US where you can easily take the shortest/quickest possible plane trip to escape to China or Russia, Hawaii would be the place. eyeball Posted September 15, 2016 Report Posted September 15, 2016 Wasn't everything he released accessible to the whole world? It doesn't seem to me the Russians stand to learn any more than anyone else. Maybe he figured just telling the world what the U.S. government was doing would be laughed off as paranoid conspiracy nonsense. That's served well before when laughing off its complicity in other things that violate the law not too mention the principles upon which these laws are based.
