I can't say I've ever heard their music but they do seem to engender a lot of angst among the progressive set. The band has had concert venues cancelled in Calgary and Regina because of progressive outrage at their name. You'd think it would be conservatives, but apparently not.

And I think the hypocrisy of the people fuming over the name is pretty obvious from one comment made. I mean, if Rotting Christ is okay for a name what isn't?

The Bare Naked Ladies got cut from a show at Nathan Phillips Square years ago due to their name and an od of political correctness. I personally like The Heinous Poon Farts.

My favorite show-shut-down was still an RCMP officer who thought the crowd would part for him in the mosh pit....wrong. Probably still looking for his hat.

I'm not offended by any band name. It seems to me that if they are trying to be offensive, why accommodate the little twits, and if they are not, why be offended?

There was controversy on a couple young girls some years back. Prussian Blue. The name may not be offensive, but their material was all right wing , white supremacist crap.

I used to listen to him a lot, and loved the way he did things to shake up the music industry and how it's viewed by the media and such. He's a pretty smart guy.

I'm not offended by any band name because it's rock n roll and it's awesome. Like people being offended by Elvis shaking his hips on Ed Sullivan. Let people do their art.

BP's first album is really good. I have not heard their more recent stuff.

While the controversy over the name has cost them some bookings, overall it's probably allowed them to be exposed to much larger audience.
