Argus
That's certainly revisionist history. Maybe because your party revised its position on Afghanistan the instant they lost the election.
PIK
This Africa mission is going to be a disaster for our troops. You think mental health issues are at a high right now, wait till they do a tour in mali or where ever. Nothing harder on the troop then watching raping and killing and you cant do nothing about it. Just like in Afghanistan where they could hear the cries of young boys being rape by the Afghanis in the same compound and our troops could do nothing but listen to it. Argus
Cite. It was in the article you apparently didn't bother to read.
The_Squid
Any soldier who just listens to boys being raped and does nothing about it should be discharged and maybe even jailed.
Argus
Any soldier who just listens to boys being raped and does nothing about it should be discharged and maybe even jailed. So much for your respect for other people's cultures. “At night we can hear them screaming, but we’re not allowed to do anything about it,” the Marine’s father, Gregory Buckley Sr., recalled his son telling him before he was shot to death at the base in 2012. He urged his son to tell his superiors. “My son said that his officers told him to look the other way because it’s their culture.” http://www.nytimes.com/2015/09/21/world/asia/us-soldiers-told-to-ignore-afghan-allies-abuse-of-boys.html?_r=

Army Guy
Any soldier who just listens to boys being raped and does nothing about it should be discharged and maybe even jailed. Soldiers did report this to the chain of command, Canadian government and Canadian Ambassadors at the time, and to the media, which most major media companies reported to you the people of Canada.....Some soldiers took matters into their own hands such as conducted armed raids of police and ANA posts to rescue children, for their efforts they where sent home for their actions, All of this was reported on .....and What did Canada do about it ? where the Canadians in charge discharged.....or jailed.....Did Canadian Citizens force this matter to be looked at....NOPE....not a fu%%king thing was done about it....except we blame the soldiers for not acting or taking action......That's what we do as Canadians point out Blame....except when it is our fault.... eyeball
I think I could support a military rebellion on the basis of righting this extremely egregious wrong. What say you AG? You willing to put it on that line? Honestly, you will have my support.
Army Guy
Sorry Eyeball, I stopped a long time ago depending on Canadian citizens for support, they don't have the heart or stamina or the will....the first Squirrel they see they are on to something else leaving you holding the bag.....
