The demands of the left for their brand of "equality" has approached an insane level. His election represents an iconic "middle finger" to political correctness. Some folks insist there should be freedom of speech, but only if you say things that they permit to be said, in a way they want them to be said. Who are you talking to anyway? Not me, that's for sure. You would be hard-pressed to find a less politically correct person around here, or a more classically conservative one. Trump isn't politically incorrect, he's just crude, vulgar and ignorant. He's known to have been resentful his whole life at not being accepted among the tonier people in New York. That's all true, but I think he's probably what America needs right now - and maybe for the next 8 years. I'm definitely getting tired of the 'Trump is evil' campaign; stupid does not equal 'evil'. And not all of Trump's ideas are stupid, anyway. For instance, changing their education policy, improving infrastructure, lowering taxes and removing most tax-deductible allowances makes sense to me. Along with that, he proposes having the wealthy give up their social security benefits so that lower-income people can keep theirs - some of these policies are not so dissimilar to Trudeau's, after all. It would have put these two back in the White House, with a sudden increase in the number of cigars being ordered. I guess US voters could not pinch their noses enough. Much like our elections there was only two choices, terrible and completely unacceptable. But in any case "crude" is a widespread phenomena, should be no surprise there. As a self proclaimed politically-incorrect right winger, you should know this. Vulgar? First of all, even if it is vulgar, that should not be a criticism. The media is the message. We can waste a lot of time finding nicer words to say, to make you feel unthreatened, or we can just get to the point, say what needs to be said, and move on. We have a lot of ground to cover. Quote

Cutting taxes is idiotic when you've already got a massive deficit, and most of the tax cuts will benefit the very wealthy. So let's see, Joe Smith, who pulls in twenty million a year, loses his social security check. Awwww. But that's okay. The consolation is he pays a million dollars a year less in taxes. I think he'll be content. Changing education policy seems to mean taking money from public schools and giving it to private schools. That too is dumb. Being crude, rude and vulgar does not bring people together. Part of a leader's job, whether in a 3-person workplace or a huge country, is to work to bring people together. If Trump does fail, it may not be because of his policies per se, but because of his inability or even unwillingness to create cohesion and cooperation. The debt to GDP was 25% when Reagan took office. It's 75% now.
