True....in fact, it endeared Trump to many of his loyal fans even more.

Yup, Trump's followers don't hold him accountable for anything. Wonder how long before that ends.

It sounds like Tillerson's confirmation hearing is not going well. Rubio lit him up, and with fellow Republicans Rand Paul, John McCain, and Lindsey Graham being openly skeptical about Tillerson, this one might not be a shoe-in.

You know it went bad when even Breitpravda couldn't find anything good to say about it .  They called it "woeful" and "Trump's first major national embarrassment" and feel that if they left-wing wanted to damage Trump, they "should have gone wall to wall" with it.

Quote

Instead, left-wing media were not content to let the situation play out on its own and made the most fundamental error in politics: interrupting the enemy while they make a mistake.

...

The first session of Tillerson’s confirmation hearing Wednesday morning was, in no uncertain terms, an alarming episode for conservatives and American patriots of all stripes. Tillerson had one job upon facing the Senate panel: prove that he was capable of putting moral obligation over generation profit.

...

he proved his skeptics correct, confirming that his understanding of international relations is inextricably linked to generating profit.

The implication is clear: businesses should put their profits over any guiding moral principles. Tillerson left unclear whether he thought governments had the same obligation.

President-elect Trump won the presidency by tapping into longstanding frustrations the American people had been harboring since President George W. Bush passed TARP: that an entrenched millionaire class had turned the federal government into their own personal cash cow at the expense of the middle and lower classes. With the Tillerson nomination, Trump has largely betrayed his voters–Republican and Bernie Sanders defectors alike.

It's pretty remarkable that Supreme Advisor Bannon's own press organ couldn't even find anything positive to say about the Tillerson hearing.

This is also noteworthy in that it's only the second criticism of Trump I've ever read from Breitbart (the first being the selection of Rince Priebus instead of Steve Bannon for Chief of Staff.)

Trump really put the CNN reporter in this place yesterday and the guy wouldn't quit talking  after Trump told him he wouldn't talk to him because of what CNN  was reporting about the Russians and him.

Posted

Was watching CNN last night while they were backslapping each other because the Intel Chief confirmed that Golden Shower Gate was in this dossier, ignoring the fact that reporting on the unsubstantiated details is the problem, not the fact that the dossier exists. And for obvious reasons, the joke is that Trump got peed on. It doesn't matter if it's true or not.

And yes, I know Trump benefited from the same lack of verification for his rise to power, doesn't mean it's right when the other side uses it against him.

Is it right for the same individuals who spread the unverified information in the Hillary emails to complain that it isn't right when the other side does similar things?

No it's not.

Trump's Crocodile tears are a bit much here.

But CNN is being super dishonest about the relevance of this dossier, to the public. The only relevance is that we can make fun of Trump for getting peed on now.

There is this report that the CIA considers it "credible" and that there is more than one sex tape. And it's very perverted. The most perverted. Nobody has tapes that're more perverted. In terms of perversion, they're the very best.

CNN published a brief summary of the dossier, with the disclaimer that the allegations were unproven, yes?

I think it's newsworthy that the intelligence community believes the Russians have a trove of blackmail material about the President.  The specifics of the blackmail material is unimportant, but the possibility that it exists is very important.

Where should CNN have drawn the line?  The fact that this dossier exists? The fact that it contains unproven allegations? The fact that these unproven allegations include sexual escapades?

And again, this is a guy who spent years fueling the Birther conspiracy theory and who has been promoting unverified and outright false information almost daily since he announced he was running for president. NOW he's upset about unverified information?  What a big fat hypocrite.  Welcome to the world you made, President Trump.

Rex Tillerson is pretty lucky that the Golden Story broke the day it did, because it distracted everybody from a confrontation hearing that compares unfavorably with the Titanic and the Hindenburg.

You think that's a good thing when the president won't answer questions from the press, do you?

Trump can answer any question he wants and did answer press questions, now the press learns they have to do research on the stuff they put out and knock off the bias.  If it was good for Fox News during the Obama administration it's good for CNN now.

It's just as hypocritical for CNN to poo poo the birthed movement (rightfully so) while at the same time trying to give credibility to the dossier story.  There are YouTube comments saying it was a massive troll from 4chan, but we will never know.  CNN got their knuckles slapped and rightfully so.  Trump made a fool out of Acosta, I wonder how that will affect his career.

Is it hypocritical that you weren't crying about the reports of the unverified Hillary emails? Or did that not cause you any cognitive dissonance at all?

The emails delivered to the FBI by subpoena?  Sounds verified to me.  Your going to have to do better than that

There were no CIA reports that Obama was from Kenya.  If there were, there is nothing wrong with reporting that the CIA thinks the president is a foreigner and is investigating.  That's a YUGE difference between your two stories.  One is fake.  The other is real.

And there's no CIA reports of trump getting pissed on.  Both fake.  Hell it was fake when "Mike cohen" who was supposed to be in Prague was in California.

No, how about the Podesta emails. Donald was quoting from one within minutes of it being reported (without verification) in the Russian press. The press then picked up on them and reported on their contents without knowing whether the emails had been doctored by the Russian agents who released them. You accepted all this information as fact, and now want to whine about CNN reporting information that is in the public domain while emphasizing it hasn't been verified. Not only is it hypocritical, but there isn't even any cognitive dissonance while you do it, which suggests why you're a Trump supporter.

That's how it goes, shut down one outlet and if no one stops you, move on to the next one. Eventually, all that are left are your own mouthpieces. Guess you are good with that.
