kimmy
Mike Huckabee officially threw in the towel a few minutes ago. Jeb Bush, Kasich, Christie, Fiorina, Santorum, and Gilmore all finish with under 3%. I had no idea Santorum was still in it, and I still have no idea who the heck Gilmore is. There doesn't seem like any light at the end of the tunnel for this group. Perhaps Jeb could stay in the running based on the premise that he still has lots of cash and maybe could gain support if somebody else packs it in. The rest have no reason for hope. On the Democrat side it's now 49.9% to 49.4% for Clinton over Sanders. -k

kimmy
Rick Santorum won the 2012 Republican caucus in Iowa. ...and he ultimately finished 2nd behind Romney. I get your point, that Iowa success doesn't mean a successful campaign... but is there a counter-example? Somebody who got completely crushed in Iowa... say 2.8% like Jeb Bush... and went on to win? -k

On Guard for Thee
Cruz needed Iowa far more than Trump, who is leading in New Hampshire (a real primary election). He tried kissing evangelical ass to try and win Iowa, and it didn't work. (Hilarious actually) So now what tack will he try I wonder? On Guard for Thee
If it didn't work in Iowa, why should it work in NH. And I'd bet dollars to doughnuts it won't work in SC, after his racist comments etal.
Moonlight Graham
I just find her incredibly disingenuous....It just makes me feel cynical about her. She learned to lie from her husband I guess. I think she's a slimeball, and a poor leader. She sticks her finger in the air to see where the wind is blowing, and then decides her stances based on that. Even without the lying I think she's well overrated. As status quo as you get, with little vision. I want to like her but I can't.

I've always hoped we might see a female President, a female Prime Minister of Canada (I'm aware that "other" Kimmy was PM for a few months, but I'm not sure it counts...) ...and I desperately wanted to like Hilary too. I was pro-Hilary in 2008 and I don't know if my views have changed much or if I've just become disenchanted with her in particular. I'd still like to see a female President some day... just a little disappointed that it couldn't be somebody better. -k

Bonam
Hillary is the status quo candidate... and that is what the US needs, more status quo. The status quo is working for the US, where the economy is growing faster than almost any other advanced country and wages are starting to rise again. Radical Republican candidates would drastically cut taxes without commensurately cutting programs, miring the government in crushing debt, while focusing all their energy on idiotic social conservative issues like sticking it to the gays and banning abortion. And Sanders' socialism would impose massive new burdens on the private sector, eliminating probably the last bastion of growth in the developed world. What the US needs is to stay the course, and that's what you can count on Hillary to do. She's slimy, she's uninspiring, but she would be unlikely to do anything particularly radical and that's a good thing.
