Derek 2.0 Posted January 14, 2016 Report Posted January 14, 2016 So if the government and courts are ignoring me I should get out a gun and start taking over territory? You can always "take over territory" without the gun, that depends on your own personal convictions and expectations of success or failure. Quote

segnosaur Posted January 18, 2016 Report Posted January 18, 2016 Haven't been following this thread, but I skimmed it and didn't see any mention of this. Seems the occupiers have been getting all sorts of support... From: http://www.gq.com/story/oregon-militia-dummies-dicks-in-the-mail The armed anti-government "militia" that took over an Oregon wildlife sanctuary last week and pretty quickly began asking supporters to send them supplies. ...Well, it turns out people did begin sending supplies. Some people sent stuff that was on the list. Other people decided to send some things that weren't on the list. Namely dicks. Lots of different kinds of dicks. Dildos. Gummy dicks. You name it. Its nice to see people lending a hand, isn't it? Quote
ReeferMadness Posted January 21, 2016 Report Posted January 21, 2016 Oregon governor Kate Brown has asked the feds to send the yeehawdis packing. "The residents of Harney County have been overlooked and underserved by federal officials' response thus far. I have conveyed these very grave concerns directly to our leaders at the highest levels of our government: the U.S. Department of Justice and the White House," Gov. Kate Brown said at Wednesday news conference. She said the occupation has cost Oregon taxpayers nearly half a million dollars. Brown spokeswoman Melissa Navas said in an email that number is coming from labour costs for an additional law enforcement presence in the area, including overtime, travel reimbursement, lodging and meals for officers. ReeferMadness Posted January 27, 2016 Report Posted January 27, 2016 Five of the occupiers (including both Bundy brothers) were arrested and one killed. Looks like the Feds are shutting them down. Derek 2.0 Posted January 27, 2016 Report Posted January 27, 2016 Five of the occupiers (including both Bundy brothers) were arrested and one killed. Looks like the Feds are shutting them down. Ryan Bundy was shot with non life threatening injuries and LaVoy Finicum (The old guy with the tarp) was killed.........from the one of the groups live feeds (take that for what you will), Finicum was unarmed, shot twice in the chest with hands up, and three times on the ground by FBI.....this all during a traffic stop by State Police and FBI, well the group was going to another public meeting. ---------- Now the FBI has surrounded the refuge and the remaining members inside, who've said they won't surrender.......and apparently, members of the Oregon and Idaho militias are inbound.......could get really nasty. I've heard from one source (take it for what it is), one of the group members got away with all the documents proving Government malfeasance, and is in contact with a Nevada State congressmen to deliver for safe keeping........ --------------- To add, from one of the guys in the refugee, prior to losing cellphone/internet service, they had numerous helicopters flying over......No reports of Nancy Sinatra's Boots are made for walking playing yet..... That's low, J Edgar, real low. -k No, they were going to a community meeting in Grant County, invited by county Sheriff Glen Palmer, a county Sheriff that called for the FBI to leave to help de-escalate the stand-off........ironically, LaVoy Finicum, was the Bundy spokesperson that got the Pacific Patriots/3%s etc to leave the refuge, to lower tensions from their end. Apparently, several of those arrested, through their single phone call, have confirmed Finicum was unarmed and shot on the ground/ with hands on head by the FBI........I assume State Troopers will have dash cam footage to be released forthcoming.... One thing is certain, right or wrong, the US Federal Government just made a martyr out of an old rancher with 12 foster kids.... Quote
jacee Posted January 27, 2016 Report Posted January 27, 2016 It looks like the group never got the support of a 'popular uprising' as they were hoping. Quite the opposite, they were protested by locals. http://mobile.nytimes.com/2016/01/23/us/opposing-factions-take-to-facebook-in-oregon-wildlife-refuge-dispute.html The report that the man killed was unarmed and surrendering is quite disturbing. biotk Posted January 27, 2016 Report Posted January 27, 2016 (edited) The report that the man killed was unarmed and surrendering is quite disturbing. 'Hand up, don't shoot'! Well of course it is, except that the report comes from Ammon Bundy who was physically no closer to what happened then Bundy's driver Mark McConnell was. McConnell has a very different story that is in part from watching the other vehicle flee the police, and in part from the story coming the surviving members of that other vehicle: Both vehicles were pulled over. The members of the vehicle driven by McConnell (which includes A. Bundy) were removed from their vehicle one at a time and arrested. In the other vehicle, after the first person was removed from the vehicle, the driver (now deceased) sped off reaching the road block about a km down the road. Trying to further evade them, he ending up getting the vehicle stuck in a snowbank, and with the tries still spinning, bolted from the vehicle charging at the officers. Keep in mind that the deceased was someone who had said to the media that he would never be taken alive by the police. It looks like suicide by cop. Edited January 27, 2016 by biotk Quote
