Gee, guys....shouldn't we get all of our facts first? SHouldn't we wait for the trial? This cop is INNOCENT until PROVEN guilty.

Too bad the same standard wasn't upheld for the guy he shot.

I don't have a theory. I just look at the video and see someone being shot in the back while running away. Unlike others, I don't pretend to know why.

When did running away from a cop become a reason to kill someone?

He can be heard yelling Tazer Tazer before he used it, which is what he is supposed to do.

If that's the case, murder charges won't stick. Defense will plea bargain down or jury will find for voluntary manslaughter. If Scott resisted detention or arrest and assaulted the officer, Slager will not go down for murder.

The thought which came to mind was "white parents don't need to because their kids don't generally give the cops any problems".

Wow that's quite the assumption there!

Borderline racist assumption to boot!

This is the video Wilmore references. Look at the restrain used against white kids. They clearly weren't listening to the cop. So that, "If you don't want to be shot, listen to the cop" line is racist bullshit.

Did the "white kids" assault the police officer ? Attempt to gain control of the officer's weapon(s) ?

You're victim-blaming. No matter what someone's reasons are for doing what they do, they do not deserve to be abused or murdered.

You are justifying, it's that simple. It's the exact same mentality as saying a woman's dress in a certain environment somehow contributed to her getting raped.

After all, she should have known better. Right?

You're being ridiculous. If it happened ONCE, unprovoked, yeah, she's a victim. If she already knows that's how he behaves, she chooses to stay with him, and she chooses to do the very things that she already knows will set him off, she is NOT a victim anymore. She's as much a party to the brutality as he is. It's called taking responsibility for your own actions.

Yea...no.

She is a victim every time. Maybe she cannot get away, maybe she has been handcuffed by him mentally .

Not black and white .

So where is the public safety if these types are on the force? Should I be concerned next time I get pulled over for a traffic violation? Would my life be in danger? Over a traffic stop?

Cops have rules, but as we all know, young men (and sometimes older ones) do stupid things against the rules. And as a very white horse thief found out the other day, it's best to follow Chris Rock's advise on "How Not to get Your Ass Kicked by The Police", or as Rock says "If you see red lights in your rear mirror, pull over and stop. Because everybody knows if the cops have to come get you, they're bringing an ass kicking with them."

Cops are to detain for their time in court. Nothing more. Administering 'justice on the scene' is a violation of the suspect's rights. But now it's guilty until proven innocent. This is not where we need to be in society.

And FFSI have shown other examples where the person complies and still gets tazed, shot.

Yeah, it happens. It happened with the horse thief. Then again, he didn't comply till he was finally unhorsed.

It usually works, though, way better than fighting with the cops.

Right, which this guy didnt, and the former cop murdered him.

Well the dashcam video pretty much shows the guy didnt. Running away as he did could suggest various things I guess. Some sort of guilt perhaps, (was he actually test driving the car with an eye to buying it, or something else, or was he just afraid of white cops) there are a few gaps that I havet heard filled in yet, but it sees quite clear he did nothing to warrant being shot in the back running away.
