A cake is also a piece of property? So what?

But a cake can be taken by one as a whole, or many as a slice .. it would make sense if it was 'Rockin in a Capitalistic World'. but Trump could do the right thing and pay for his slice of the cake. Or at least ask of he could have cake.

I just want to know why Young can discriminate on the basis of political ideology and refuse to allow somebody to licence his song for an event, but a Christian can't do the same?

And I'm guessing he didn't ask.

Did you read the link Copyright 101? We can lead a horse to the water, but we can't force him to drink. Unless it's a micro beer from BC west coast, then he will willingly drink up.

'Yes we can!' Another failed slogan from another failed POTUS.

So you agree than that if he asks and agrees to pay the normal fee, he must be allowed to use the song? Right?

I really do admire how Neil Young can motivate Canadians.

I agree...he does it from his long time ranch in California ! Rich Republicans can sure identify with that.

Have you read the constitution?

So the constitution overrides all copyrights that have been registered? Is that what you are saying?

That's how it works Shady.

You make a song. I use it for my anti-whatever-floats-your-boat-rally, You don't like it .. but I can still use it according to your logic.

No, he is only allowed if the owner approves.

So he can refuse, even though Trump is willing to pay?

Yes, he can. Neil Young owns the rights to the song, he has full control of his 'property'.

Yes, Young can refuse. It's his right, his property. Just like Trump can deny Young accommodations in any of his hotels for any reason.

'The owner has the right to refuse service/product for whatever reason'.

Perfect! So than a baker can also refuse right? Since that baker also owns the rights to his or her property.

Except he didn't ask and I suspect had he of, he would have been denied permission. Thats the copyright owner's discretion.

But if he did ask and agreed to pay he can't be refused right?

You might catch him on that one, but you won't get me on it !!! Because I agree.

You can ask me and pay me to mow your lawn, ... will I?

Also, I'll take your house for $10,000. Remember, even if you refuse, all yer base belong to me!
