Why would you want to discourage a Muslim from thinking their religion allows them to innovate, change or progress? That seems a particularly stupid strategy.

Maybe this is because of its one true word of Allah. Islam also invites you to write your own book. You can write your own book and claim its the one only true word from God or Gods or whatever you want to name it. I am talking about my religion to make somethigs clear. I dont care whether or not you believe it or you like it. We are ordered to talk people with the most polite way. This is duty of every Muslim to teach Islam to others.

I don't believe either Christian or Muslim scriptures say that.

Muslim's believe unbelievers should be converted. If they are followers of another religion, one of those accepted, like Jews and Christians, they can continue to live in a Muslim land, but they face special restrictions and taxes. Any land not ruled by Islam can be attacked by Islams and conquered and the people forced to convert or die (unless they're Christians or Jews), and their women can be taken as sex slaves.

If you mean just atheists than, well.. I wouldn't mention your atheism if you happen to be in a Muslim country if you value your health.

Deuteronomy 13 and 17 say worshipers of other gods should be put to death. In those passages it seems that atheists are safe though.

In numbers 31, I believe the Biblical god commands the Israelites to kill the Midianite people, except virgin females which can be kept as the spoils of war. Of course this was justified because two females apparently attempted to convert a couple of Israelite men.

I find it odd that the god of the Bible would be so jealous of other gods if he/she were the only one.
