GostHacked Posted July 10, 2014 Report Posted July 10, 2014 This was interesting to watch last night on a live ABC feed. Part way through (apparently after the person was taken into custody) the swat truck and an MRAP showed up and rammed the vehicle from each end. Now compare that to this pic where the person is showed outside the car at night with the MRAP behind him. The car was rammed by the two police vehicles a little before the sun went down. http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/texas-shooting-leaves-4-children-2-adults-dead-1.2701990 Authorities said the teen's information also helped them to intercept the suspect, who led nearly two dozen deputy constables' patrol cars on a chase that ended in a cul-de-sac shortly before 7 p.m. There, the suspect's boxed-in vehicle remained for hours. Finally, about 10 p.m., after hours of waiting and negotiations, the man emerged from his car, raised his hands and sank to his knees as deputies arrested him. I was in chat last night and some of you had watched it as well. While reading the comments we were confused of if the person was in custody. By some of the comments he was already in custody before the MRAP and SWAT truck showing up. So I question the use of the vehicles after the fact. Yes there could be explosives, but you don't block it end to end. If you do block it, try the sides. I don't know. Not exactly sure what really happened here. Much confusion. Quote
Moonlight Graham Posted July 10, 2014 Report Posted July 10, 2014 4 children dead, another critically wounded. I hope this worth your extremely liberal gun non-regulation, gun-loving American wingnuts. #priorities Seems like these shootings are bi-weekly occurrences these days. I love gun-violent movies, TV, video games, comics etc. but I've never shot or learned to shoot a real gun in my life and am proud of it, and I never will...unless my country is being invaded or there is major violent civil unrest within Canada and I need to protect my family from immanent violence where the police/military fail...both unlikely scenarios. If everyone in the US and Canada had this same approach, civilian-on-civilian gun deaths in these countries would be zero. Over 11,000 deaths in the US prevented in 2013 alone, almost 200 prevented in Canada in 2012. http://www.statcan.gc.ca/pub/85-002-x/2014001/article/11925/c-g/c-g04-eng.gif Quote "All generalizations are false, including this one." - Mark Twain Partisanship is a disease of the intellect.

On Guard for Thee Posted July 10, 2014 Report Posted July 10, 2014 'No guns, No America" Tells you something about "some" American's don't it? Outside the NRA types I think many of them are getting a little tired of these almost constant headlines such as the latest from Texas. Quote

What would make it better ? Is Canada "proud" of a gun homicide rate TEN TIMES that of Japan's ? Which constitutional right would you be willing to give up just to have better stats ? bush_cheney2004 Posted July 10, 2014 Report Posted July 10, 2014 We don't share a 3000 mile border with Japan. Or France.....so what ? Control your borders instead of crying about access to cheaper shopping...including guns. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

We do control our borders. A Canadian wouldn't want to cross the border to one of those 24 hour gunshops and buy an AR 15 and try to re-enter Canada. Quote

Gangs in Toronto are getting their gats somewhere. Blaming the US for illegal guns in Canada is sort of like the US blaming Mexico for Cocaine coming up there. Quote

Maybe we should build a fence. How's that working on your southern border? I don 't worry about gun homicides and suicides on the US side of the border. I am concerned about how many are committed on our side with illegally smuggled, restricted weapons from your side. Quote "Never trust a man who has not a single redeeming vice". WSC
