As this crisis unfolds Kerry and Obama have made it clear they are anti Israel and are a bunch of fools out of touch with the Middle East and clueless.

In fact it was so bad the Palestinians did not even bother to meet with him and went back to Egypt which Obama and Kerry are not on speaking terms with.

If a stop the shooting arises, its because Egypt not the US will be telling Hamas you have one choice, stop shooting rockets. Period.

Kerry and Obama have zero credibility. The US needs to send a retired military general or Bill Clinton, or some other respected retired American in as peace envoy. The only way this ends is with a strong US mediator trusted by both sides not Kerry or Obama who are an embarassment to the US.

If Colin Powell was still the Secretary of State he would have cooled both sides off by now simply because of the respect he had and his knowledge of terrorism and military logistics on the ground.

I can think of 5 retired US generals with ample experience on the ground from Afghanistan and Iraq and who understand the dynamics of terrorism who could talk to Netanyahu and the Egyptians intelligently and acknowledge their security concerns while looking the Hamas leadership dead in the face and say enough it aint workin.

No...the U.S. doesn't need to actually do anything until Israel completes the "demilitarization" of Gaza. Strong material support for Israel remains even as the diplomatic gong show gives the appearance of humanitarian concerns for cessation of hostilities. Israelis do not want a half-assed intervention with ambiguous results given the costs in lives and international support.

Ultimately, this is Israel's operation without regard to what outsiders think, including the U.S.
