guyser Posted September 2, 2014 Report Posted September 2, 2014 He lives in North Etobicoke. Maybe he's in a posh part of it. But it's an area of Toronto that's full of Jamaicans. And once again....not a chance in hell. He lives in Central Etobicoke on Edenbridge Dr. Avg house price is $2.5-$3 M. Granted Ford has done little to improve his house, its still a modest bungalow, but it is surrounded my mansions. His house is probable valued now above $800,000. Anyone buying it will immediately tear it down. Quote

PIK Posted September 2, 2014 Report Posted September 2, 2014 Now we are on him for speaking with a fake accent, come one now this is getting pathetic. Poeple need to get out more. Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.

Actually when the Steak Queen video came out the criticism he received was for him falling off the wagon after pledging to stay clean and calling the Chief of Police a bad word. I didn't hear much about people getting upset about the accent. . . until this past weekend. Guess the new poll results are making people revisionist about his scandals. Quote

Boges Posted September 2, 2014 Report Posted September 2, 2014 That could be since the princess of TO is washing out. I just heard that the Ontario Liberals are endorsing John Tory. Quote
guyser Posted September 2, 2014 Report Posted September 2, 2014 Still pretty close to Rexdale. And once again, not close at all. From a wealth standpoint, about as close as the moon is to earth. In geographic terms, still quite far from rexdale, at least 10K away. Quote

Black Dog Posted September 3, 2014 Author Report Posted September 3, 2014 Isn't there a saying about there being no such thing as a free lunch, or about how you can't get something for nothing? Well, don't tell Rob Ford! Toronto Mayor Rob Ford promised 32 kilometres of underground transit, seemingly without a cost to residents, as he rolled out a key plank in his transportation plan Wednesday. The Mayor is betting big on subways while dismissing light rail as “fancy streetcars” that make congestion worse. His $9-billion proposal, which has no specific funding plan, would see new subways on Finch and Sheppard, as well as a downtown relief line and a promise to bury the eastern portion of the Eglinton Crosstown. YOU GET A SUBWAY! YOU GET A SUBWAY! EVERYONE GETS SUBWAYS! Quote

Black Dog Posted September 3, 2014 Author Report Posted September 3, 2014 Ugh...this city needs to get going. We are all better off if Ford goes down. Truth. Though I must say, with the exception of the very impressive Soknaki, none of the major candidates have seemed to have a plan for real short term improvements for the city. It's all pie in the sky stuff at this point. Quote

overthere Posted September 3, 2014 Report Posted September 3, 2014 Whereas you will be celebrating the ascendancy of the CPC poster boy? Stockwell Day is a candidate? Really, I don't give a shit but it is vastly entertaining to watch Toronto folks fret themselves into apoplexy. World class!!! Quote Science too hard for you? Try religion!

Like it or not (I suspect not) but having this idiot man-child at the helm can certainly cost us a ton more of problems, problems that if large enough the whole country suffers. Billions are lost in gridlock in this city, and that costs everyone everywhere. Get the city moving and the coffers here and elsehwere will fill Quote

Black Dog Posted September 4, 2014 Author Report Posted September 4, 2014 Better than a lifetime politician like Olivia Chow. Better a professional dilettente (and two-time political loser) like Tory? Tory might actually pinpoint where the Gravy Train actually is. There is no gravy train. See? That was easy. He's a pretty accomplished dude. Oh yes, he is definitely rich. Quote
Boges Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 (edited) Better a professional dilettente (and two-time political loser) like Tory? He actually overachieved in the 2003 election. No one expected him to make the race that close. As for 2007, who knew trying to be fair to all religious groups would be deal-breaker. Much better to allow Catholics to have special treatment. There is no gravy train. See? That was easy. You probably never listened to his radio show but he often mentioned that City Hall is filled with middle-management that are just collecting a paycheque not doing much. Sounds like gravy to me. Oh yes, he is definitely rich. Successful Lawyer, Commissioner of the CFL, CEO of Rogers, successful radio host. I wonder why he's rich? Edited September 4, 2014 by Boges Quote

Point is, there's no basis to suggest he;'d be better than Chow on the basis of her being a political lifer. At least she has actual experience at City Hall. You probably never listened to his radio show but he often mentioned that City Hall is filled with middle-management that are just collecting a paycheque not doing much. Sounds like gravy to me. And how would he know this? We already went through this gravy train crap with Ford. There's no gravy unless you think snow removal, grass cutting, recreation programs and the like are "gravy". Successful Lawyer, Commissioner of the CFL, CEO of Rogers, successful radio host. I wonder why he's rich? Rob Ford's rich too. How'd that work out? Quote
