Boges Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 (edited) I trust you can substantiate your statement... no worries then, hey? On the other hand, you may be inclined to 'adjust' that claim, in what ever way you feel appropriate. What statement? Him being an idiot? Edited September 8, 2014 by Boges Quote
waldo Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 oh... really? Ok - carry on then! Quote
Boges Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 oh... really? Ok - carry on then! I don't know what you're getting at here. He wasn't her campaign manager, I got that wrong but he was pretty instrumental in her campaign. Until he tweeted that Tory's plan to electrify existing tracks was excluding disadvantaged neighbourhoods. Which is ridiculous. Olivia Chow said he was just a volunteer which is clearly not true so she had to distance herself from him and cut him loose. What about that is incorrect? Quote
waldo Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 I said 'carry on'... you appear comfortable with what you said/what you claimed. Quote
Boges Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 I said 'carry on'... you appear comfortable with what you said/what you claimed. He did apologize for what he said. Quote
Black Dog Posted September 8, 2014 Author Report Posted September 8, 2014 She had to turf him from the group. He would have been an asset had he not been a complete idiot. Shows that she's not completely in control of her message. The fact that he was even along in the first place was a signal to progressives that she wasn't interested in courting them. Beyond that, i doubt his comments would move the needle of popular opinion in the slightest. Tempest in a teapot, media ball stuff. Quote

His comment certainly did get the media attention, and yes, he did apologize for issuing the related tweet. The lil' back & forth above was an attempt to apprise MLW member, 'Boges', that Kinsella takes his reputation and attempts to disparage that reputation very seriously. As I understand it, he steadfastly maintained he was not 'let go... dumped... sent packing... turfed'... that it was his choice to volunteer in the first place, and it was his choice to voluntarily leave. waldo Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 "who cares" you ask? Why, you cared... enough to comment. MLW member, 'Boges', certainly cared as he offered his personal unsubstantiated "turfed" statement/claim. Sorry to interupt your non-caring self. Quote

Not exactly sure how one substantiates a private matter like that. Let's put it this way. If she didn't "turf" him, then shame on her. She certainly minimized his importance by labelling him as simply a "volunteer". Perhaps he should sue Chow. Edited September 9, 2014 by Boges Quote

I have not offered a personal assessment in that regard - you have. If you can't substantiate it, why did you say it? He was a volunteer... he repeatedly emphasized this well before the "segregation' tweet. I believe you're slowly working your way back from your "turfed" statement/claim... but you're not quite there yet. Carry on. Edited September 9, 2014 by waldo Quote
Boges Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 Is this enough "substantiation"? http://news.nationalpost.com/2014/09/03/warren-kinsella-says-olivia-chows-treatment-on-him-kind-of-stunk/ One week after he was effectively booted from Olivia Chow’s mayoral campaign for deriding a rival transit plan as “segregationist,” political strategist Warren Kinsella said that Ms. Chow’s treatment of him “kind of stunk.” In a Wednesday interview with Sun News, for whom he is a regular contributor, Mr. Kinsella said that in difficult situations “you want to be able to turn around and say ‘there’s my candidate,’ but mine wasn’t there, so that kind of stunk.” Last week, Mr. Kinsella posted a Tweet noting that mayoral candidate John Tory’s SmartTrack transit plan will not connect to minority neighbourhoods in the Jane and Finch area. “Is John Tory’s SmartTrack, you know, Segregationist Track?” wrote Mr. Kinsella. Ms. Chow distanced herself from the comments, noting that Mr. Kinsella was a “volunteer.” Soon after, Mr. Kinsella announced that he was voluntarily stepping back from the campaign. Quote
waldo Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 you mean... this part of your quote: "Soon after, Mr. Kinsella announced that he was voluntarily stepping back from the campaign" Quote
Boges Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 (edited) No this part One week after he was effectively booted from Olivia Chow’s mayoral campaign for deriding a rival transit plan as “segregationist,” political strategist Warren Kinsella said that Ms. Chow’s treatment of him “kind of stunk.” It's like forcing someone to quit. If you want to get bogged down in minusha then fine. The point is, the reason he left was the blow back from calling John Tory racist. Edited September 9, 2014 by Boges Quote
waldo Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 do you not appreciate why that journalist used the weasel word "effectively"..... that's kind of different from your absolute statement/claim, hey? Quote

waldo Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 (edited) ...calling John Tory racist. I seem to have missed another of your absolutes! Inferences can certainly be drawn, but... you're again stating absolutes. Carry on. Edited September 9, 2014 by waldo Quote

waldo Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 (edited) you're missing the point, absoluteGuy! You stated/claimed: "She had to turf him from the group". Black Dog Posted September 9, 2014 Author Report Posted September 9, 2014 So, in a week when more revelations regarding Ford using the mayor's office to try and help clients of the family business come out, when Sarah Thomson drops out of the race and Socknaki releases his full (and excellent) platform, you guys are still carping about irrelevant backroom shenanigans? Quote
Boges Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 (edited) Didn't you already label Sarah Thompson as irrelevant? I just read that John Stewart endorses Chow. Now that's big news! Edited September 9, 2014 by Boges Quote

Black Dog Posted September 9, 2014 Author Report Posted September 9, 2014 Didn't you already label Sarah Thompson as irrelevant? Yep. But it's still news, unlike this Kinsella business, which no one outside the media bubble cares about. BTW here's Socknaki's whole plan. Says a lot that the one realist in the race is the guy in single digits. Quote
