guyser
This post has nothing to do with him voting on a motion that involved him personally. You don't get to be a juror at your own trials. That's the issue. Not the money or how much or where it was going. Well, it appears many like to throw mud in the water to hide the plain truth.. This is one of them,. But but but......others did something almost nealry like as bad but legal and on a Monday while standing on one leg. Boges
Explain. I may be guessing here but I think he's speculating that our Federal government fixes elections. You know one riding association in all of Canada did some improper Robocalling so the entire Conservative Party of Canada is corrupt. Topaz
It's NOT just one, its 56 serious locations, questionable calls. After, watching the feds since 2006 and the charges that have to laid against them by EC and many questionable happpenings, how can anyone trust this party. As far as Ford, I heard that he was asked 7X to pay back the money and he said no and that is why he had to go to court. IF we , voters don't hold our politicans accountable, who will? Don't you think, if Ford runs again and the voters put him back in, that will be a sign of ok, go ahead , do what you want and it doesn't matter about the rules, after all, Harper doesn't follow them, he makes his own. Boges
Then why haven't Bi-Elections been called if EC thinks the elections were rigged? BTW Rob Ford granted a stay until an appeal is heard, so he won't be turfed next Monday. This is a surprise to absolutely no one.

Guest Peeves
Reading in the news how the former mayor and cronies apparently scammed the Expressway repair budget allowances for years. Wonder if Miller's buds on council will defend their duplicity..or whatever it was. Now the Gardner is collapsing for lack of maintenance and maybe Miller is culpable over millions. However lets dwell on Ford and what should be a non issue of a few bucks raised for a noble purpose. Tens of millions of dollars budgeted for the Gardiner Expressway repairs over the last decade were never spent. A document obtained by CBC News reveals that millions intended to be put towards fixing the Gardiner Expressway, the elevated highway that runs just north of the Toronto shoreline, never made its way to the road. ------------------------------------------ "In 2008 and 2009 nearly $40 million was budgeted, but evidently only $12 million was actually spent to fix the often problematic expressway. http://www.cbc.ca/ne...-not-spent.html
guyser
. Now the Gardner is collapsing for lack of maintenance and maybe Miller is culpable over millions. However lets dwell on Ford and what should be a non issue of a few bucks raised for a noble purpose. Two separate issues, but sure , go ahead and try and link them up. At the end of the day you'll have...Miller was bad and Mayor Ford is a huge dummy. Woot, good job P !
jacee
The real problem for Ford ... http://m.thestar.com/opinion/editorials/article/1300281--toronto-mayor-rob-ford-s-administration-misleads-yet-again Ford’s backers on city council were especially galled by talk of an administration list of preferred appointees. Circulation of such a slate would constitute an unethical attempt to influence a supposedly open process. Ever fair, Crean indicated in her Sept. 27 report that she couldn’t find proof that a list had been issued and therefore had made no determination on the matter. She was criticized for even mentioning a memo the administration assured the public didn’t exist. To the embarrassment of Ford officials, just days later, a copy of a 26-name list turned up in the city manager’s office. ... The mayor himself said the notion that his office had rigged the process by circulating a list was “an outright lie.” Now, it turns out that assistants to councillors Giorgio Mammoliti, Michael Thompson and Jaye Robinson were all sent “the mayor’s choices for short-listing” by a Ford staffer. Emails, obtained through the freedom-of-information process, show the supposedly non-existent list had 30 names. All three councillors receiving the missive were on the mayor’s hand-picked executive committee and the civic appointments committee. As reported by the Star’s David Rider, all claim their assistants never showed them the list. And their assistants have somehow lost all memory of having received such an email from the mayor’s office.
Shakeyhands
The real problem for Ford ... Agreed. But the Ford supporters here would over look that. Not an Issue they will say, just countering that big bad leftist conspiracy.
Guest Peeves
I don't so much support Ford as I do condemn the cowards that attack him with picayune charges. The same bunch in political or legal circles that put up with left wing governance crap and waste, and featherbedding and expense accounts for the past socialist regime. jacee
And Ford can go back to doing... uh, whatever it is that he does when football season isn't on. That would be talking on the phone to the Ford nation, then harassing public employees to go and do work for 'the nation'.
jacee
Agreed. But the Ford supporters here would over look that. Not an Issue they will say, just countering that big bad leftist conspiracy. Core Ford supporters are a small and extreme group who may think it's ok to abuse public funds, but they're wrong. His softer support has fled.

guyser
It has been reported that the esteemed Mayor ( ) has cancelled the annual New Years levy where all the grannies and retirees line up to shake his hand and get free coffee and hot chocolate. I imagine the job is proving to be a real hassle and he should consider becoming a full time football coach. Wonder what else he will cancel.....ya know, hard working and all that. Oh...maybe he is having a public skate now? The man can barely walk and now he wants to skate? Oh well, its only been going on for 44 years. Boges
I've been away but I'm absolutely NOT SHOCKED. That no one saw fit to comment that Rob Ford's libel case was thrown out of court last week. One positive thing for the mayor to end the year. I understand he also flip-flopped on the issue of a by-election should his appeal fail: now he wants council to just reappoint him.
