Shady
Are you suggesting that Rob Ford is a closeted homosexual? I couldn't care less about sexual orientation. Rob Ford has been a very good mayor.

Black Dog
The results of this appeal show that the integrity commissioner had no authority to try and make Ford repay that money. So you could argue he was right to ignore her. No one is talking about the audit finding? It found that Ford spent $40,000 improperly? I guess because there's no realistic chance he'll be removed from office over this, but no one cares. I think people are burnt out on the Ford Follies. He really needs to step up his game if he is to stay a punchline for the remainder of his term.

I'm in no position to judge Koch's mayoralty. I wish you'd do the same for things you know jack about, like Ford's mayoralty. Ford's got the smashing down, but no omelets yet. He's too busy gabbing on the phone. And throwing eggs. Shady
One of my friends lives in Toronto. He didn't vote for Ford, and didn't like that he was elected. But he told me that Ford has been pretty good so far.

Given the negative progression I saw on my two visits, in 1973 to 1997, there isn't much to ruin.. To quote the Arrogant Worms, "Toronto Sucks." Black Dog
Depends which you ask right. He's certainly not ruining Toronto. He's actually not doing much of anything at all, which in itself is a failure since there's an opportunity cost to doing nothing.

BubberMiley
To quote the Arrogant Worms, "Toronto Sucks." That's not true at all. It's a great city filled with vibrant streetscapes and character that is a model for the rest of North America. It's the Leafs that suck. jbg
Everyone I know who's been there thinks Toronto is awesome. I agree. Maybe things have gotten better since 1997.I remember punting the trip three hours north because the pollution was a risk to my pregnant wife. The air smelled disgusting in the 33 degree heat around June 21, 1997.

jbg
So that being the case, what's your opinion of NYC? New York City has become an amazing place since it bottomed around 1977. 11 on a scale of 1-10.

I agree; NYC is an amazing place, but surely it has air pollution, too - and I've never encountered the kind of pollution that you said you found in Toronto, and I've been there many, many times. I love NYC and I love Toronto. They are both amazing cities.
guyser
. The air smelled disgusting in the 33 degree heat around June 21, 1997. [/quotE] Half the smog we encounter comes from the southwest of Ontario. We certainly add to it but geography is a considerable part of the problem. Boges
Where in Southwest Ontario? I always heard a lot of Southern Ontario's Air Pollution comes from the Ohio Valley.
