punked Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 Oh and if you're watching Intrade Romney's share price dropped by 3.8% today while Obama's increased by 1.6%. Probably because of what people are reading into the Sunday numbers instead of the numbers before the jobs report. Quote
cybercoma Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 How do you think this is going to play out? Quote
punked Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 How do you think this is going to play out? I can't believe they haven't even hit on his Medicare fraud yet. There is so much dirty about that guy. Quote
Shady Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 Romney now within 3 in Michigan! Now within 2 in Pennsylvania! Michigan Pennsylvania Quote
cybercoma Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 Why is Romney a liar? He can't beat the tar out of Obama in every stump speech because his focus groups show that independents don't like it. He can't provide details of his tax plan because all those deductions he wants to get rid of are popular with independents. He can't get more specific on foreign policy because his base demands hawkishness but independents really don't want to hear that. He can't speak honestly to the American people about entitlement reform because independents don't want to hear that their Medicare benefits are going to be cut. Etc. Quote
punked Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 Romney now within 3 in Michigan! Now within 2 in Pennsylvania! Michigan Pennsylvania Yah I bet that GM announcement today that they will be adding 2000 new jobs this year by in-sourcing all of their IT alone will really help Romney. He will lie and say they did that because he had a good debate. HAHAHAHA Quote
Shady Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 Why is Obama a liar? Princeton Economist: Obama Campaign Is Misrepresenting My Study on Romney's Tax PlanI can’t tell exactly how the Obama campaign reached that characterization of my work. It might be that they assume that Governor Romney wants to keep the taxes from the Affordable Care Act in place, despite the fact that the Governor has called for its complete repeal. The main conclusion of my study is that under plausible assumptions, a proposal along the lines suggested by Governor Romney can both be revenue neutral and keep the net tax burden on taxpayers with incomes above $200,000 about the same. That is, an increase in the tax burden on lower and middle income individuals is not required in order to make the overall plan revenue neutral. Quote

punked Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 So is Obama. He really isn't. Check out their fact check record Shady. You will see Romney lies ALOT more then almost everyone else. Quote

No he really is, check out the facts. Check out what he said back in '08 too. Remember when he criticized Hillary Clinton for a health care plan that included an individual mandate? Then promised his plan wouldn't have one. Then signed one into law a year and a half later. Quote

punked Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 (edited) Remember when he said he cut the deficit in half in his first term? I remember when the bottom fell out of the economy in October of 2008. Although he did cut the deficit by 100 Billion dollars from Bush's last budget until Obama's last. More then Bush ever did. cybercoma Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 Romney invested in Chinese companies that embezzled, partnered with Iran, and stole US trade secrets. On the campaign trail, Mitt Romney rips President Obama's policy on China and talks tough against the rising global power. "We're going to crack down on China," he said at a recent event in Ohio. "They've stolen our jobs; that's gotta stop." But according to Romney's recent tax returns, between 2008-2011 Romney invested more than a half million dollars in the stocks of 10 Chinese companies[cont.] Quote
Michael Hardner Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 Romney invested in Chinese companies that embezzled, partnered with Iran, and stole US trade secrets. If taxes were lower then he would have invested in American companies that would have embezzled and partnered with Iran. Shady Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 Obama's also gone from 74 to 64 in 5 days on InTrade. I wouldn't be surprised if he's in the 50's in a week or so. Wow, it took less time than I thought. Obama's now at 59.1 on InTrade! Quote
cybercoma Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 Look at the polling map on 270towin, Shady. Romney still has a very steep hill to climb. http://www.270towin.com/2012-election-polling-map/obama-romney/ Most combinations for Obama require him to win only 2 of the tossups, while Romney needs at least 4 or 5 to win. wyly Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 What hasn't been tested lately, though, is the fastest speed at which things can change. Also, there is the matter of the debates. national popular vote isn't the ultimate factor, swing states are, and if polls are to believed Obama has the lead where it matters...IMO debates matter little I think this close to the election most people have already made up their mind... -TSS- Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 I think Romney should keep quiet on foreign policy as that is just not his strong part. Besides, the vast majority voters almost everywhere place more emphasis on the economic outlook rather than foreign policy and in the USA that proportion of people is even larger than elsewhere. cybercoma Posted October 10, 2012 Report Posted October 10, 2012 Romney says he won't pursue new abortion laws. Quote
bleeding heart Posted October 11, 2012 Report Posted October 11, 2012 I think Romney should keep quiet on foreign policy as that is just not his strong part. You'd think that might be a slight issue for "the leader of the free world," and for an American Imperium generally. Quote “There is a limit to how much we can constantly say no to the political masters in Washington. All we had was Afghanistan to wave. On every other file we were offside. Eventually we came onside on Haiti, so we got another arrow in our quiver." --Bill Graham, Former Canadian Foreign Minister, 2007
