Shady Posted February 12, 2012 Report Posted February 12, 2012 That sounds like most people in government !!! It definitely does. Although to be fair, many government officials have children or relatives in the armed forces, and serving or have served in places like Afghanistan. And I doubt that they share the same disregard for a fellow soldier dying in combat. Not to mention that operations specifically based on suicide aren't usually part of the overall strategy. But I get your point. Quote

Puzzling, to say the least. Why would he want his children to live where he/his people were/are killing civilians? What if they were killed in a terrorist attack in the West? When he said that, IF he said that, he had a reason for it and the reason in his case might be for obfuscation, remuneration or to cause consternation. I "believe that (Zakaria al-Sadah) is practicing the "Taquia" which is a provision in Islam to lie under 3 conditions including advancing the cause of Allah and to deceive your enemies." If not, to praise the west even with faint praise, is an aberration from such a source. If he repeated that in some places his reward would be decapitation. OK so that's a heap of 'tions', but my intention was purely for communication. Quote
Guest American Woman Posted February 12, 2012 Report Posted February 12, 2012 Well, I'm in doubt. When he said that, IF he said that, he had a reason for it and the reason in his case might be for obfuscation, remuneration or to cause consternation Evidently it's in his will: According to a document that reportedly is bin Laden's last will he told his wives (Yes he had several) not remarry after his death. He also told his children not join al-Qaida. According to published reports: "Al-Anbaa, a Kuwaiti newspaper, reported on Tuesday that the will, marked "private and confidential" was dated 14 December 2001, three months after the 9/11 attacks, when US forces were hunting him in Afghanistan." "The four-page document, written on a computer and signed by "your brother Abu Abdullah Osama Muhammad Bin Laden," predicts that he would die by the "treachery" of those around him. Al-Anbaa does not reveal how or when it obtained the will or whether it was able to authenticate it. Al-Majallah, a Saudi-owned Arabic magazine, published a similar document in 2002 but it was dismissed as a fraud by a pro-jihadi website." Osama bin Laden's Will... olpfan1 Posted February 12, 2012 Report Posted February 12, 2012 Yeah. Western propaganda. Which is why a Kuwaiti newspaper is claiming to have obtained his will. That doesn't mean its true. I am sure Kuwait wants AQ to disband and what better way than to claim he said all of this. And why on earth would they have obtained his will? You should be asking questions instead of taking everyone's word for it. Quote

I'm simply not accusing the West of being responsible for propaganda. Which of course is so much more open minded. Evidently one of his brother-in-laws made the claim - said bin Laden told him that. Why do you think he would make up such a thing? Quote

olpfan1 Posted February 12, 2012 Report Posted February 12, 2012 2 reasons not to believe U.S sources 1. Korean Air Lines Flight 007. Soviets shot down a South Korea passenger plane killing 269 passengers because the pilots wouldn't respond to their warnings so the Soviets figured it was a hostile. The U.S media played the audio and cut off the part where the Soviets were trying to talk to the pilots and make sure they're not hostiles. The world had thought the Soviets deliberately shot down a passenger plane thanks to the U.S manipulation. 2. Iraq war and it's made up WMD. So I question anything and everything I read from western media..and even eastern media. They all lie Quote
Moonlight Graham Posted February 12, 2012 Report Posted February 12, 2012 (edited) If true, then wow. Maybe living as he did for 10 years post-9/11 wasn't exactly what he wanted for his kids/grandkids. Unlike most state leaders, he was on the ground witnessing his war first-hand, and saw a lot of crazy things and a lot of people he may have known die. I hope this is true, it would be an interesting footnote to his life. ie: war sucks.
