Smallc Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 So that makes it okay for a Conservative to do it then? Isn't that hypocrisy? Quote
Newfoundlander Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 Exactly... they still use Harper's religion in the usual scary agenda tactics, double standards and all... I haven't seen this mentioned, I believe Paul Martin used it but I can't remember seeing anything recently. Quote

The issue with religion with Harper and the CPC is the influence it has on policy. Harper has just got started on his program to end abortion, repeal same sex marriage, destroy public health and education, force mandatory Church attendance and get a photo of Harper shaking hands with Jesus into every post office in the country. Any day now. Quote The government should do something.
olp1fan Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 (edited) Harpers a smart man, he knows better than to attack canadas social values...unlike the republicans in the U.S, I don't fear him in that regard Edited November 4, 2011 by olp1fan Quote

Topaz Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 First of all, what does Harper's religion have to do with the story? For one thing, Harper's faith is one that many people know that much about and secondly, this is between another loud-mouth of the Tories, Del Mastro, who didn't like the fact that a Liberal came into HIS territory! If Del Mastro has a problem, then maybe he should think about retiring with his gold plated pension and go back to selling foreign cars! Quote

Any day now. You missed the return of the inquisition and the destruction of the non secular state. Of course he's a dictator and Canada has no controls. NOT! Actually, compared to previous governments ours to day is quite benign, secular and democratic. Of course there are always going to be a few myopic, exaggerating, opponents willing to distort, embroider, fabricate, and hyperbolize for political partisanship. Quote

If the libs wanted to portray the tories as bad for being religious, the libs better have their house in order. The libs fired the first shot... Indeed, but maybe the Liberals been rethinking their position in branding the conservatives as "religious fanatics". They won the election so maybe the liberals need to be seen as defending religion - hey we got religion too ya know. Besides, the RC Church is against abortion, birth control and believe in creationism, so Justin must really have a dangerous hidden agenda.. Heck Liberal MPs even put forward a bill a http://openparliament.ca/bills/40-3/C-573/ for a Pope John Paul II Day supported by http://www.johnmckaymp.on.ca/newsshow.asp?int_id=80693 Quote Hey Ho - Ontario Liberals Have to Go - Fight Wynne - save our province
Keepitsimple Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 Funny how Trudeau comes right out and says that personally, he's against abortion....but he's OK with a woman's right to choose. If a Conservative took that stand in a CBC interview........ Quote Back to Basics

If a Conservative took that stand in a CBC interview........ Hes okay with a woman's right to choose because ultimately the woman is the one who has to make that choice even if the man wants her to have the baby she doesn't have to men should have no choice in the matter so I don't know why this is always an issue in politics I guess Canada is lucky that Harper wants to avoid the whole discussion altogether, pretty smart move imo Quote

One thing I will never understand is why Christians tend to vote Conservative. Mythical Jesus would be under almost any other party before Conservative.
