I would have turned the hose on them.

or better still - decked her a good one... but then Ford would've been the bad guy..

He didn't know who she was so if some screaming banshee threatened me with a sword I would've retreated to call the cops... hope they charge her - she (CBC) crossed the line.

BTW, I don't know who she is and wouldn't know her from Adam.

Any Canadian politcian who doesn't know who Mary Walsh is has been living in a bunker for the past 20 years. Turning the hose on her would have been a hoot and made great TV.

I think tying up the 911 emergency line with childish revenge calls should really stop. Especially among "mayors".

Nope. I think regardless of the person, somebody's home and family should be off limits to this sort of thing. That goes for any politician regardless of party.

Holy sh*t batman. If I saw this coming at me toward my front door, I'd call 911 too, with or without my daughter at my side.

I agree. But it wasn't an emergency. You will likely get ridiculous and try to pretend it was, but that's just because you think Ford is sexy.

But it wasn't an emergency.

BM, when a person dials 911, the first thing the dispatcher asks is whether the person needs an ambulance, the police or the fire department. Then the dispatcher connects the person to the proper authorities. Not everyone has the number of ambulance service, the police or the fire department on speed dial. The first number that comes to mind to most people is 911. A pretty good system I think.

Sounds like you are an advocate men for beating women.

She threatened him with a sword??

So you'd hit her. Right?

A pretty good system I think.

That means you're as clueless about the system as Rob Ford is. If it isn't an emergency, don't call 911.

CANADA 911

If you are currently experiencing an emergency, telephone 911 immediately to obtain police, fire and ambulance services.

Just noticed a picture on facebook that is now going around.

Basically, it's two video stills from the video you can find in the link in the OP.

Above the stills is written: "It was dark!" -- Rob Ford

and then: Um...really?!

Not only is Ford a chicken but he's a liar too.

What was the emergency? 911 is not there to use to try and get someone in trouble because you dont like them....

His daughter was crying because.... Well.... Cuz Ford is her daddy!

Toronto mayor had no time for This Hour Has 22 minutes

"Comedian Mary Walsh recalls her Monday morning visit to Mayor Rob Ford’s house much differently than he does.

Walsh said the mayor’s daughter wasn’t there when she showed up in his driveway in character as the outlandish, loudmouthed Marg Delahunty.

“There was no child at all,” she told the Star. “I mean, was she inside his suit jacket? We never saw any children.”

So, it wasn't dark and... was his kid even there?

22 Minutes executive producer Peter McBain said the crew decided en route to the mayor’s house they would only approach him if he was alone.

But he didn't know who she was...

Ford also told reporters he heard Walsh yelling “We’ve got you Rob Ford, we got you,’ which Walsh contends she didn’t say.

“I just said, “Mayor Ford, it’s me, Marg Delahunty!’ which is what I always say when I’m ambushing people.”

...

“I’m a 60-year-old woman with a plastic sword,” she said. “I was just going to give him a bit of friendly advice.”

Walsh said she called out to him: “Oh, a big husky guy like you, trying to call the police. Come on.”

Yeah, come on Mayor Ford. A big husky football coach, running away from a 60 year old woman in a halloween costume? It's not like she was throwing cats...

It seems like a He said, It said. :D

Regardless of his reaction, it's not cool to go to people's house with TV camera's uninvited like that. They would never do this to a sympathetic politician to their cause.

Uh...are you serious? That's what I said. Mary Walsh at your door isn't an emergency.

Except one party had their cameras rolling at the time.

Like, no one ever expects that from the media.

We know how it works. It simply was NOT an emergency, hence no reason to call 911. This might show a little of Ford's reactionary side, if he is easily calling the cops on this kind of incident, what does that say for him and the position of mayor?

I almost want to keep him in office for the comedy value alone.

Alas, even Cheers and Seinfeld jumped the shark, so more than one term could be very painful.

I am waiting to see if he calls out the Army out to shovel the snow, like Noooo-booody Lastman. The big bad Canadian winter storm with all that unreported snow.

I still think it's a bad idea to go to peoples homes. Regardless of the person or the party.

I think it's a worse idea to lie about the circumstances (it was dark) when cameras are rolling.

That's what the ambushes do so well - give us a glimpse into the character of the subject - and Ford comes out looking like a liar.

I agree. But what do you think about a mayor who calls 911 on people out of spite (or, alternatively, doesn't know how the 911 system works)?
