Sir Bandelot Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 (edited) Speaking of Screwdrivers.... I don't really like Vodka because I had a bad experience with drinking too many Screwdrivers once... Point is, still to this day the Robertson screw is superior to the slot or the philips, despite all denials of such. But despite that, we are the only ones who use it... The law should be written so that Canadians can have legal or decrim pot but US citizens would not be allowed to come and get pot here. It would be for citizens and residents only, no visitors, no tourists. This would be to stop drug tourism. Edited December 31, 2010 by Sir Bandelot Quote

I agree with your assessment of the Robertson screwdriver..Anyone who uses a Philips screwdriver sytem is a mechanical idiot! It should NOT be legalized, but if it was decriminalized,is a dealer supposed to demand proof of citizenship before a sale?Because if were only decriminalized,it still would'nt bew sold at the corner Mac's or 7/11... Guest TrueMetis Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 Oh..Do NOT go down the 'You prove it" road with The Professor... I've tried that and it simply does'nt work. Not only because he won't be able to,but because,he'll inexplicably turn it around and say it's up to you to prove it... Alright fine. Tobacco and cannabis smoke contain the same carcinogenic compounds -- and depending on which part of the plant is smoked, cannabis smoke can contain more of them -- but, whereas nicotine activates these carcinogenic compounds, THC has been shown to inhibit them in mice cells. THC is very likely to have protective effects against the carcinogens present in smoke in humans too, but cannabis smoke remains nonetheless carcinogenic. While nicotine and THC can act on related cellular pathways, they bind to different receptors to activate these pathways. The cells of lungs and the respiratory passages are lined with nicotine receptors, but do not appear to carry THC receptors. This explains why cannabis smoking has not been associated with lung cancer, a main cause of death from cigarette smoking. So yes it contains carcinogens but it has never been shown to cause cancer, well at least lung cancer. Professor if your going to make the argument at least go with a well substantiated one like THC triggering schizophrenia in teenagers. Quote

maple_leafs182 Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 I agree, Robertson screws are far superior then Phillips. If people are so worried about the smoke, you can use a vaporizer or make bud butter and eat it in cookies. If we continue to keep it illegal can we at least stop saying we live in a free society. wyly Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 I think it's safe to say that the acceptability of MJ use in society has gone up in 23 years.I think it's also safe to say that the potency of the MJ available has gone wwwaaaaayyyy up since the late '60's and the potential health risks must have certainly increased,as well...potency has gone up I can confirm that having visited a pot cafe in amsterdam this past summer but that only means you need less to get the same buzz...I had no urge to use more than the two or three puffs required to put me into dreamland...I don't think it should be legalized...I think that's a disastrous idea knowing what's become of some of the potheads I knew in high school. The usageof the stuff seems to have brought out,or brought on,some sort of mental illness.I've seen this more than a few time to think that it's more than a coincidence. the people who have problems with addiction already have mental health issues the pot didn't cause the mental illness, pot is just their drug of choice, others might choose heroin, oxycontin, alcohol, cocaine or whatever...pot use in netherlands is quite open/semi legal and there is no associated increase of crime or metal health issues, usage has decreased to lower levels than in N America... Jack Weber Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 What if theyre working on a machine that has Phillips screws? Well, speaking for myself,I can remember being on a job where we disassembled a unit that was entirely fastened with Phillips screws and replaced them with Robertsons... Phillips are the most useless fasteners ever created!!! Quote The beatings will continue until morale improves!!!
