If one does not like the SU's then why is one reading them?

Why not start your own thread if it is so bothersome.

Not sure why you respond to my posts now. You have come out publicly and refused to acknowledge them. Why now?

Um, what does it matter?

I don't read every single post here.

Sometimes other people respond in ways so I don't need to, or in ways that the thread moves in a direction so there is no point.

The real question here, however, is why can't you answer the questions?

That is, why can you not focus on the substance of the matter?

If a believer demands that I, as a non-believer, observe his taboos in the public domain, he is not asking for my respect but for my submission. And that is incompatible with a secular democracy. Flemming Rose (Dutch journalist)

My biggest takeaway from economics is that the past wasn't as good as you remember, the present isn't as bad as you think, and the future will be better than you anticipate. Morgan Housel http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2016/01/14/things-im-pretty-sure-about.aspx

The status updates are like the tiny margin cartoons in MAD Magazine (for those old enough to remember). These are secondary sidebars between members that reward brevity and clever retort. Long posts as seen in topic areas are not well suited to this format. IIRC, status updates were not always enabled. At first, I ignored them as nonsense, but now they are great fun!

My late brother and I both enjoyed MAD. One of our favourites.

I agree with WCR on the SU topic. If your gonna throw out a political comment, why not just step into the ring and have the thought be challenged. Shady and Dialamha currently have SU's that should be arguable topics in the forum.

The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they're ignorant; it's just that they know so much that isn't so. - Ronald Reagan

I have said that the Western world is just as violent as the Islamic world - Dialamah

Europe seems to excel at fooling people to immigrate there from the ME only to chew them up and spit them back. - Eyeball

Unfortunately our policies have contributed to retarding and limiting their (Muslim's) society's natural progression towards the same enlightened state we take for granted. - Eyeball

I do have an issue with the status updates. Many of the status updates have over 15 responses. Why don't the originators of these SU start a thread?

Most folks prefer things that way. We do not see that as a problem nor as a disruption of the forum.

Heck, sometimes I want to jump into them too!

You might be onto an idea for a forum improvement.

We do not have time for a meeting of the flat earth society.
