Topaz Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 I think teachers over in the US should get paid "danger pay" because they could be shot at any time by a student or others. The Gov. at least , has body guards and I also wonder if he took a reduction in pay? Probably not. Quote

Shady Posted May 28, 2010 Author Report Posted May 28, 2010 Well he IS a straight talker. I will give him that. Unfortunately that's what makes him somewhat unique. He doesn't try to be all things to all people. Something that almost all politicians try to be. It's very refreshing. Quote

I'm conflicted because although I (likely) disagree with the policies, I do applaud the approach wholeheartedly. Would I vote for him ? Hmmmmmmm..... Michael Hardner Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 I disagree. I think Harper and Obama are nothing like Christie. I know what you're saying. You are right. But a few steps in the right direction at this point. So in the face of a massive state budget shortfall, a one year pay freeze is unacceptable? It's acceptable to ask for it, sure. Will it happen ? Argus Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 I like this guy. And I do agree more politicians like him are needed. Before committing to him you might want to look into his past a little. There are a lot of suspicious if not dowright shady goings on w/r to his finances and his career as a lobbyist, not to mention his awarding of contracts for favours. punked Posted May 30, 2010 Report Posted May 30, 2010 That's not true. And his so-called career as a lobbyist was for a whole 2 years. You don't work for Jon Corzine do you? What about career as a guy who breaks the law then flashes his roll as U.S. Attorney to get off? How long did that one last. The guy is nothing new in NJ politics the Democrats have the same people. Entitled and corrupt to their very hearts. It says something about you though Shady backing another corrupt NJ politician. Quote

dre Posted May 30, 2010 Report Posted May 30, 2010 This is the problem with politics today... style over substance. This guy makes a speech to the media, and suddenly you all your have toungues up his ass. But its utterly meaningless... all politicians can talk a good game to a bunch of reporters... chances are a political consultant wrote every word of that shit. Focus on his policies, track record, and performance. Not a image building speech some political consultant wrote for him. Im not saying this guy wont do a good job... me might be very good. But you guys are all over his shit for the wrong reasons. Style and words are a dime a dozen. Quote I question things because I am human. And call no one my father who's no closer than a stranger
Shady Posted May 30, 2010 Author Report Posted May 30, 2010 Style and words are a dime a dozen. Absolutely. See Barack Obama. I love Governor Christie for what he's doing, and what he's saying. And I love the fact that he's blunt and honest about it. Quote
Shady Posted June 4, 2010 Author Report Posted June 4, 2010 Gov. Christie keeps getting better and better! Quote
Guest TrueMetis Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 Gov. Christie keeps getting better and better! Should parents run education? No, simple as that. Quote

Shady Posted July 5, 2010 Author Report Posted July 5, 2010 New Jersey closed an $11 billion dollar budget gap without raising taxes. Now Christie is letting the people of New Jersey vote on a 2.5% cap on yearly increases on property tax. Quote

Now Christie is letting the people of New Jersey vote on a 2.5% cap on yearly increases on property tax. Does that take into account the 1.8 billion deficit the NJ EI fund has, oh wait Christie moved that off the books. No it doesn't? How about the 3.1 Billion Christie decided not to put into the state workers pension plan the State owes to it? Shady you might not know this because you don't know anything but NJ is already 200 billion in debt on that pension how is putting off the contribution the state owes a good thing? Oh so this is just how Republican's "balance a budget". What a sad day. What a dummy. Quote
