Just heard that Marc Emery has been ordered extradited by Rob Nicholson, the Conservative "INJUSTICE" minister. This is a tradegy, and makes me sick to my stomach. Marc is a wonderful freedom-loving Canadian, and our country will be less great without him in it. The justice minister is a piece of shit traitor, and I hope he burns in hell for what he has done.

Emery himself pleaded guilty in exchange for a five year sentence, so why shouldn't he be extradited? How you see him makes no difference regarding the law; and he knowingly broke the law. The justice minister obviously recognized this fact.

Sounds as if he'll be sent to the U.S. within the week.

meanwhile the USA knowingly shelters a known CIA operative/terrorist Luis Posada Carriles from extradition....

The US authorities have refused requests for Posada's extradition, saying he might be tortured, and failed to find takers when they suggested sending him to a country other than Cuba or Venezuela.

hmmm, the US concerned about torture of terrorists? sounds vaguely familiar to the Talibans offer to send Osama to a neutral third country when they suggested it, which the US rejected...

blow an airliner out of the sky killing 73 civilians but that's okay they're only Cubans...send pot seeds in the mail, follow him to the ends of the earth to imprison his ass...

Emery is a victim of his own choice to break the law. The rhetoric in this thread though is absolutely hilarious. Please keep it up guys

He didn't even break any Canadian laws, the Canadian government knew he was selling seeds to the states, they were collecting taxes off it.

The Injustice minister is a fucking coward who was afraid to try and make a case against the Honourable Marc Emery in a Canadian court.

Don't know if you've already seen this or not, but he gives his reasons for his decision in a letter posted here.

I don't know whether justice is served or not. I just don't like the idea of people trying to hide behind me in order to break another country's laws. If Marc wants to challenge US law, he should go there and do it, not expect to hide behind other Canadians so they can do it for him.

Justice will not be served until you are held down and a$$raped repeatedly for the crime of being a complete douchebag.

The only douchbag is this Emery fellow. Who thinks he can break the laws of other countries and get away with it. Not only does he think he can break the laws of other countires, but he makes money off of doing so, while at the same time, spreading the culture of drug use. This guy is the biggest P.O.S I've seen in a while. May he rot in jail.

However, I think it's rather ironic that DrGreenthumb wishes more harm to me, for simply stating an opinion, then he does for somebody actually breaking the law. It speaks volumes.

Go smoke some more weed you lousy pothead!

Well said. I just don't like the idea of someone in another country purposely breaking our country's laws and expecting their government to protect them. There's nothing brave about it; coming here to challenge our laws would have earned some respect on my part. So I think justice was served in the sense that he wasn't able to purposely break our laws and then hide behind the Canadian government's skirt.

Ya screw him and all the tax revenue he gave to our government. Who does he think he is? Come on man he was selling pot seeds, smoking pot is the definition of a victimless crime.

We shouldn't condone illegal activity soley based on tax revenue. Besides, it's not like it was a lot.

We're not talking about smoking pot. We're talking about the distribution of drugs.

$500,000 in taxes between 1999 to 2005, how much in taxes did you pay in that time? He also declared seed seller as his occupation on his tax forms, doesn't seem like the government cared all that much.

We're not talking about smoking pot. We're talking about the distribution of drugs.

We're talking about the selling of seeds in a completely harmless way.

You know, I hardly drink at all anymore. It would be no big deal for me to give it up entirely. Since that's the case, I think I'm going to become a Prohibition supporter! If some folks think they have some God-given right to tell ME what drugs I may or may not take then I want the chance to impose my will on them and return the favour!

Do unto others as they have done unto you. Sometimes its the only way to get through to them.

You can drink all you want. Hell, you can even smoke weed all you want. Just don't sell it, and especially don't sell it in other countries with laws against it. It's basic logic.

Emery is a capitalist to the core and made millions selling seeds to Americans and shaking his dick at US cops while breaking the law in their country many thousands of times. He got caught, now he pays. The only decent thing this greedy arsehole has done is not take his family and staff to US with him. He'll still have millions when he gets out.

His actions in this country have nothing to do with the crimes he has pled guilty to in another country.

Do the crime, do the time.

The government should do something.

I'm with you Wild Bill. I've had enough, and I think I will seriously start working on getting the anti-smoking busybody crowd whipped into a ban alcohol frenzy. I don't really care if I drink anymore either. It will be worth it to see these pompous fuckers squirm when someone else is taking control over THEIR lives. Actually Maybe I'll be like Dancer and advocate punishment for those who use or sell alcohol while I continue to friggin use it myself. I mean I ignore the stupid pot laws so I'll probably ignore any new alcohol ban that I help to pass as well.

Banning alcohol actually makes a lot more sense than a pot ban anyways since alcohol users are FAR MORE DANGEROUS to others.

This is why in general - the legeslative process should never be mixed with the judicial process.

It is once again - anti democratic, much like the Jaffer/Geurgis, and of course the entire idea of a minority proroguement.

Really though - Marc is going to have a much better time with Obama than Bush though. The "war on drugs" is long long over. The war to "be able to make the minimum payment on your mortgage" far outshadows it.

Canada did collect taxes on Marcs "business" though.
