The news has reported he set his own house on fire then went to his plane and crashed into the building. Terror attack? probably not, a crime? depends if his family were in the house.

In the state of Texas, it is illegal to purposely fly aircraft into buildings, even if the IRS is located inside. Maybe this is legal in Ontario?

Ya, they're talking about it on CNN, right now. This guy sounds like a total loser, echoing much of the same silly sentiments from some of the lefties in this very forum. The world is out to get him, communism is the answer, the elites are pulling the strings while the little guy gets taken advantage of, etc, etc, etc... I've been hearing this type of diatribe for many years. Hopefully nobody other than the pilot has been seriously injured. Apparently nobody was killed.

Cool...we already have the suicide terror attack note!

I love the Internet!

It does seem as if the IRS building being hit would have been too much of a coincidence not to have been intentional.

As soon as I read that the plane was steady and true, and the IRS was hit, I knew right away that this was intentional and directed soley to the IRS.

Read some articles on this. It's definitely premeditated. I would call it a terrorist attack. If he was a Muslim, they definitely would call it one. Crime, terror...does the definition really matter? Guy rammed a plane into a government building.

Yah a guy who owns a plane and hates taxes, definitely from the left. Give me a break.

But he wore a cowboy hat. That must mean he's hardcore rightwinger huh?!?

If you read his manifesto, he's a hardcore leftwinger. This is how he concludes his letter...

I read it Shady, the guy owns a softwear company, owned a giant house and plane yet thinks he is poor and should not have to pay taxes. Sounds like a crazy too me, I wont say he is a right winger because as much as I think the right wing are wrong they aren't delusional as this man was. His ideas though are often what some right wingers post here, Business should never pay taxes and keep their own money, stimulus was a terrible idea, bail out bad, I hate welfare so on and so on. Go reread what he says.

He railed against politicians, the Catholic Church, the "unthinkable atrocities" committed by big business, and the government bailouts that followed. He said he slowly came to the conclusion that "violence not only is the answer, it is the only answer."

I think this guy may have some mental problem. How on earth the Catholic Church could be related with IRS or any taxing stuff?

Clearly intentional and a crime, but I'm not sure about the designation of "Terrorist" in this case. I think the word is thrown around too easily. Anyone who is a protester against government might end up being called a terrorist. I think terrorism means, an attack intended to incite fear in the public, ie. using terror as a weapon. He did attack a public office though, and harmed people he didn't know. Attacking a bank that has foreclosed your home might be a similar analogy. Is it terrorism, or is that becoming too convenient a handle?

Domestic terrorism is not new...this guy's "manifesto" and IRS target makes it another incident. Was the Unabomber a terrorist?

I'd classify him as a terrorist. McVeigh, I also classify him as a terrorist. But I guess if he ain't a Muslim, it's not terrorism.

If you read his suicide letter (which you hadn't at the time that you posted this), you'd see a lot of typical leftist sentiment. There's also some libertarian/anarchist vibe, but the typical blame-game against imagined conspiracies among the elite is very leftist. Whining about banks and health insurance companies, railing against Bush, etc...

The most obvious evidence of this loser's leftist leanings are these final statements in his suicide letter:

"The communist creed: From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.

The capitalist creed: From each according to his gullibility, to each according to his greed."

Still convinced he isn't a leftist?

You obviously haven't read the manifesto. How is it right-wing? He goes on and on about blaming the rich and elite for all the problems of the country. Where did he say he was opposed to welfare? Either you don't understand what the general term "right-wing" means, or you haven't read the letter (which should only take you about five precious minutes) and, for some reason, are now now lying about it. His entire letter is clearly leftist.

I read it, and found it to be a little bit left-wing, a little bit right-wing, and all crazy.

Sort of like the posts on this board.
