Oleg Bach Posted August 10, 2009 Report Posted August 10, 2009 Trust me...it has absolutely nothing to do with luck. Don't the powers that be worry about these henchmen and surrogates they send out publically - that someone might discover that they are empty minded - and really not in control of anything - that they are simply illusions for public consumption? Wait ----I forgot - the powers that be have one thing that is absolutely perfectly measured and gaged - the level of American intelligence and inquisitiveness - that it is low...yes they have that part down - so you are right - when you rule dogs you don't need luck - you just have to remember you are master and they are dog! Guest rakibul Posted August 12, 2009 Report Posted August 12, 2009 Palin was a member of the Wasilla, Alaska, city council from 1992 to 1996 and the city's mayor from 1996 to 2002. After an unsuccessful campaign for Lieutenant Governor of Alaska in 2002, she chaired the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission from 2003 until her resignation in 2004. She was elected Governor of Alaska in November 2006. Palin was the first female governor of Alaska and the youngest person ever elected governor of that state. Jenny craig Quote

Shady Posted August 16, 2009 Report Posted August 16, 2009 Palin will be about as relevant as this post will be in another 6 months. Well, with one facebook post, she took control of the whole healthcare debate, put the White House on their heels, and managed to have the "end of life" provisions dropped from the Obamacare legislation. With one facebook post. Sounds pretty relevant to me. Quote
BubberMiley Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 What were those end of life provisions? Quote "I think it's fun watching the waldick get all excited/knickers in a knot over something." -scribblet
Shady Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 What were those end of life provisions? I thought you said she wasn't going to be relevant anymore? Quote
BubberMiley Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 I was just asking if you can elaborate on what "end-of-life" provisions Obama dropped because of Palin. You don't even have to give me a source, if you don't want. I'm just curious what you're talking about. I figured I'd just hear crickets, because it's widely known that Palin was lying. So Shady was just lying about a lie, which is a lie2 in algebra. Next he'll lie about having lied about the lie, making a perfect trifecta. Quote "I think it's fun watching the waldick get all excited/knickers in a knot over something." -scribblet

Here is one loud cricket you missed....so called end-of-life "education" provisions were dropped from the Senate Finance Committe bill because of Palin and other criticism. WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- The Senate Finance Committee is dropping a controversial provision about end-of-life care from the health-care overhaul bill it is working on, Sen. Charles Grassley of Iowa said Thursday. "We dropped end-of-life provisions from consideration entirely because of the way they could be misinterpreted and implemented incorrectly," said Grassley, the panel's top Republican, on Thursday. Those provisions have grabbed the spotlight in recent days, as some including former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin have argued that a health-care overhaul would create "death panels" forcing the elderly into accepting minimal care at the end of their lives. http://www.marketwatch.com/story/senate-co...sion-2009-08-13 Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

I simply asked you if she was relevant. You said she wouldn't be. She changed the face of the debate which led to a certain provision being dropped from the proposed reform. I'm just asking if you were wrong? Completely and utterly wrong. About as wrong as one can be on a subject. Because she's more than relevant as a political force, and you have more than just egg on your face. Quote

Correct....Palin influenced this issue and was a factor in the ultimate abandonment of such provisions from at least one bill. punked Posted August 18, 2009 Report Posted August 18, 2009 Because Chuck Grasly voted for the provision when it was added to Medicare in in 2003 and is now against? That is why no one cares we can see it is a political stunt. Unless Chuck only wants to kill grandma, because he was the one who voted to add it to the health of elderly. Quote

Shady Posted August 18, 2009 Report Posted August 18, 2009 (edited) I think she is relevant. There is no doubt she is the runaway favourite for the Republicans in the next election. I agree that she's relevant. But I disagree that she's the runaway favourite for the Republican nomination. I think that title goes to Mr. Romney. Especially seeing how economically irresponsible the Obama administration has been with spending and deficits and debt. Republicans will want a fiscal conservative with a strong economic and business background. Edited August 18, 2009 by Shady Quote
