kactus
Regardless of the numbers that died by the nazis in WWII the terror and mass murder caused by the paws of Nazism is a tragedy for the mankind to be remembered! But there is a second tragedy, a post-tragic tragedy! And that is the objectification and commercialisation of the ”holocaust” in the hands of the ultra-orthodox Zionists who intend to milk this golden cow for as long as possible to nourish their political agendas! It is much easier to justify your own injustice and intolerance by an injustice and intolerance you’ve been put through! An eye for an eye is justifiable, but not an eye for no eye! Ironically this very same movement who intend to aid the Jewish community in its defence, manages to contribute and consolidate the "anti-Semitism" and prejudices against their people! There are no ultra orthodox Zionists. Not sure who or what you are thinking of but the ultra orthodox tend to view the State of Israel as illegitimate because they are waiting for the messiah to found a new Israel. eyeball
Not sure who or what you are thinking of... Holocaust = galvanizing event, which is about politics not religion. I can certainly understand the motivation but the result is what counts. Too bad that what some say about good intentions leading to a hellish situation, which is certainly where Israelies and Palestinians are today, came true. Of course Israel was a galvanizing event to the Muslim world and milking it the other way has proven just as counter-productive in the end. Sucks to be them too I guess. eyeball
I can't recall where I read it but it sure made a lot of sense; This conflict is about real-estate, the rest is just ammunition.
DogOnPorch
Good news, though. Hamas is more popular than ever with Gazans. Poll: Hamas popularity goes up after Gaza offensive While Hamas feels bold enough to make demands... Hamas leader: Israel must release 450 Palestinians for Shalit's freedom

Hamas leader: Israel must release 450 Palestinians for Shalit's freedom why wouldn't hamas be popular? the gazans lived through the israeli carnage and they know whose bombs fell on them and whose guns shot their children. no amount of propaganda or media control will convince them that hamas brought this upon them. M.Dancer
why do they hate Hamas... "Vandals also wrote dirty words and anti-Hamas slogans. Several people in the convoy were injured in the attack." On the otherhand, there was cheerful joyous news... George Galloway stoned in Egypt Clown leads convoy, gets stoned, still manages to pose fotr photo op

Yeah, I saw the pictures. Millions of bodies turning up after the winter's snow melted. Shells landing all over the city. Tanks and troops closing in from all sides. Heroic defence of the Red Army against the Fascist hordes. It was indeed on of history's greatest battles.

dub
why do they hate Hamas...On the otherhand, there was cheerful joyous news... Clown leads convoy, gets stoned, still manages to pose fotr photo op forgive me while i interrupt your high fives, but, why are they throwing stones at him? The attack comes weeks after Mr Galloway, of the Respect party, described Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak as a "tyrant" and "criminal" and demanded that he be overthrown by his country's armed forces. i have a few questions: isn't mubarak a tyrant and a criminal? does galloway being pelted by stone show that egyptians are behind israel and against hamas? is that loudmouthed galloway in the top 5 of hated figures in the zionist world? up there with finkelstein and chomsky? anywhere near gandhi? M.Dancer
forgive me while i interrupt your high fives, but, why are they throwing stones at him? Because the Egyptians know that Galloway is a clown and Hamas are thieving lying pieces of poo...and that explains the stones and the anti hamas graffiti.... Oleg Bach
at the risk of throwing out blanket statements; you are part of the reason why jews hate arabs. Jews do not hate Arabs and Arabs do not hate Jews - they both just hate being poor when they are poor and when they are rich hate the thought of someone esle interfering within their field of investment - The problems have always been territorial and territory is resourse and resourse is economic - These are not emotional issues discussed here - they in truth are money problems - Let's see what happens to the bickering when everyone is broke and everyone needs everyone to survive?
