TerrorStorm: Free movie
GostHacked replied to PolyNewbie's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Which leads me to wonder: if they could pull off an "inside job" like 9-11, why fuck around with something so minor? If they wanted to take over the world, or create a facist dictaorship, or justify invading the entire Midddle East or whatever, why not go all the way and, say, nuke a major U.S. city? The idea isn't to take over the world. It's to keep making more money for their friends in the defense or oil industries. Although, there are also those theories that believe the US government is controlled by evangelical kooks who seek to bring about Armageddon or somesuch. (listen to me, articulating on behalf of the conspiracy nutjobs. Does that seem right? I wish they would come defend their own ideas so I can go back to scoffing at them.) -k No wories Kimmy, I'll take up the slack and you can go back to the other side. Or maybe stay here ahwile, find out what we are talking about You may not be far off with the religious nutbag theory. Since extremist Muslims want to destroy the US and 'freedom' and 'liberties' you can assume we have the equivilant of those nutjobs as well. These terrorists hide among the population, usually in huge churches where the evagelical leaders will spew their speech over the airwaves. Pat Robertson for example. He is just as dangerous. Everything is done in the name of God right? (But which god is better!?) You can clearly see the freedoms and liberties being eroded away. Patriot Act (passed without most of the senators even reading the bill, does that not scare you? They voted on a bill they know nothing about. How comfortable are you with that?). 'You are with us, or against us." The integration of Federal, state and local police forces. Observe something around you. You have more cameras around, more police and security forces around. More than 20 years ago, and you can see the gradual increase of the 'security' almost everywhere. You have personelle in the airports with full gear on and an automatic weapons in hand. Does that not concern you? Everyone is a suspect now. Everyone is guilty till proven innocent. Because of the recent airline bomb/plot scare, no one can bring liquids and gels onto the plane. So that old lady with the gel bra to hold up thos saggy things will have to remove it. Gel inserts in shoes? Gone. Electronic devices like cell phones I really don't have a problem with, RFI can mess up a planes electronic systems (although very unlikely). I have also seen most of Jones's other movies, Terrorstorm is a combination of the other movies with better production and was put together alot better than his other ones. Almost like a summary of his past films. I liked it. It is not something you should ignore either, he is telling people to wake up and stop being complacent. If you put 100% blind trust in the governmet, that will come back and bite you in the ass. The government works for you. not the other way around. -
Isreal has clearly violated the cease fire as well, more than a couple times since the ceasfire was in place. But you don't really care about that Rue. You really don't care that Olmert gave the finger to the UN and said the naval blockade will not be removed. No timeline is set for 1701. So that gives Israel some breathing room in terms of them doing what they want. Clearly they don't care about the resolution. Which is part of the problem as well. Rue They keep scratching their heads trying to understand but never look back and find out what the cause of all this was. I guess this is what happens when you settle down and make your home in a land full of hostile wild animals that don't want you there. Terrorist this, terrorist that. Freedom fighter this, freedom fighter that. 1000 people killed in Lebanon is = or > or < 100 Israelies killed. BD I got laughed at in another thread when I mentioned that Israel should have went in with a small tactical unit. Special Forces. I am sure Israel has Special Forces. They could have gone in an rescued their soldiers, But Israel is not about subtlety at all. A huge ass war was not needed for this. Small stealthy unit to go in and rescue the soldiers. HELL is Hezbollah can dig tunnels under the border and snatch a few Israeli soldiers, I am QUITE SURE that Israel can do the same thing, even better. The air was was not needed. Now this does not even take into count of what is still happening in Gaza. Also when part of your population thinks that the government was wrong to invade, self-hating jews right? Like they don't care either I guess. They want Israel destroyed as well? Ruse what do yuou say to those people? Those Israeli's that oppose the war and think Olmert was in the wrong? What do you tell them? http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/5294740.stm

TerrorStorm: Free movie
GostHacked replied to PolyNewbie's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I don't trust an administration so rife with incompetents, idealogues and flat out idiots has the capacity for pulling off a "inside job" of the magnitude of 9-11. Seen the movie and his others as well. Yes but these are the same people that lied to us that the invasion of Iraq was just. These are the same people that are telling you another attack will happen. They want you to think they are incompetent. They want you to think they are sloppy. Also since they are so incompetent, another attack is around the corner. I don't beleive that that much incompetents runs in the government. Someone would have noticed by now. It all seems purposely done. Fearmongering in the Skies. Ever since the plot in the UK was discovered and avoided, there has been ever more reports in the news media about problems on the airlines. There is about on average two/three reports a day on flights that are delayed, rerouted, grounded ect. Instead of listing all of them, you can find them at http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&ned=...e+diverted+2006 Simply more fearmongering by the powers that be. You never heard of much if any of this thing in the last couple years, even after 9/11, even after Reid the Shoebomber. It's all scare tactics. Remember the anthrax scare? No one was ever charged in that I think. -
North American Union and spp.gov
GostHacked replied to GostHacked's topic in Canada / United States Relations
Democracy? I am finding myself in a hard place trying to actually describe democracy and what kind of democracy we have in Canada and the US. It is not about democracy. It is more about economic survival on the world stage. Also I feel that the US is pushing this kind of thing because of Canada's natural resources. Water being a major issue. Hell we diverted a whole river so California can actually have water. The lady in that video speaks volumes. And she is right. Stop being to f*cking complacent in regards to your government. They work for you, not the other way around. If they are not doing a good job, or even the right job, then that needs to be addressed. NAFTA made our economies more intertwined, simple as that, and that lady says so. You can see it all around you. Amalgamating the security and armed forces will be the next step. Now that the intertwined economy exists, we need intertwined security to protet those interests. Personaly I don't like it. I don't beleive we need more integration with the US, quite the opposite. Oh hell no. Then what system would be adopted? The Canadian or the US government system. With one large government the prospect of corruption is worse than what you already see. If that was the case then the whole government on both sides need to be completely revamped from top to bottom. -
Hydraboss Same kind of rhetoric when prohobition was in place. Actually I am for legalizing ALL forms of drugs. Let us have the choice and freedom to choose. Not all would. If weed was legal you may find an increase over the short term, but in the long run only a small percentage of first time users will use it long term and responsibly. Again it all comes down to self control and what your priorities are. I also use weed for a semi-theraputic reason as well (non-prescribed btw). I am what they call 'bi-polar' aka manic depressive. I have been on medication to treat it, and I hated it. Dealing with some of the side affects were worse than just dealing with the depression. Being manic depressive, your mind can go in bursts and just spins endlessly. Sleep was very hard at time, no sleep and feeling burnt out, to 20 hour marathon sleeps and still feeling burnt out. My brain would just NOT STOP. Weed helps me do that. Not only has it had a short term affect, the long term is, now I CAN shut down when I need to. A joint helps yes, but now I can just vent a bit and all is well. It has helped me. I am calmer, actually more aware of my surroundings. I have a couple friends that suffer from migranes. Thet smoke as well. I asked them how does it help if at all. They said it does help as good or better than what is on the market from the pharma companies. The migrane never really goes away, but they say it is easier to deal with and allows them do actually do normal things. Sometimes I smoke a joint when I have a really killer headache and it just goes away. No need for asprin (a.s.a which I am allergic too) or tylenol. I personaly think that weed can help alot of people in both of these situations and alot more. It is a natural pain reliver and will have fewer negative side affects than most precription drugs out there. Got a heart condition? Alot of those drugs are not gonna help you at all. Pot may be right for you. So this is from my personal experience with the drug. I like it, I will continue to use it, but I will use it responsibly. My job give me the oppourtunity to actually afford to smoke. So why jeprodize that? People, plain and simple need to exert self control and not let it get in the way of their daily lives. And I must agree with you it sucks from an employers POV. Also I hate unions, I hsve seen people abuse the system and get rewarded for it. Makes me very mad.

Judge gives it to the NSA
GostHacked replied to GostHacked's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Is this what the Right does? Forget about the actual ruling. Tell us all the judge is a partisan hack with their own bought off agenda. Instead of actually saying weather the ruling was good or not. Someone upheld the constitution and wins one for REAL freedom and then they bitch cause the judge was part of the group the judge is now ruling in favour for. Forget about the constitution. Forget about your privacy being invaded. Forget about all your rights and freedoms that are taken away from you. That all does not matter caus the judge is a HACK. Wake up 'Right' let's debate the issue. -
Judge gives it to the NSA
GostHacked replied to GostHacked's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
What a poor bumbling fool. Nothing like ignorance in power. He talks pretty solid and unwaivering on things he truly beleives in. But if he feels in a bind of wants to hide something, he does this. He is a pretty easy man to figure out, his mannerisms give alot away. Fool me once ect. -
It's from months ago, and it's a non-issue because all the NYT said was that the government was monitoring financial transactions. We already knew that. Nonsense. I would hardly call a couple of months ago, "ancient". Of course we knew that financial transactions were being monitored. But we didn't know the details, until The New York Times decided to out a legal, covert program under the guise of news. Don't kill the messenger!!! That is what the news media outlets SHOULD be doing. They SHOULD be informing the populous of what they find. It is the Government's job to keep all that secret, not NY Times. I'd be doing the same thing. They have been following money trails ever since the PC was invented. So this is really nothing new at all. They were doing it in the 80s and 90s so what is soo different? Again, do not kill the messenger.
-
If they are lacing it themsevles then that is the idiotic part. From personal experience, weed alone is fine and I can still be coherant and awake. Mix it with booze, and or other drugs, then you start treading dangerous waters. And it is all about self control , when and were to do it. I smoke on a daily basis. But I don't smoke before work or when I am driving. It does not affect my work. What do I do? I work in a call center dealing with idoits who cannot understand technology. You may be interested to know that allot of people in the IT industry smoke. I also used to work in a grocery store, and had to operate forklifts. Even when I was not smoking the night before and operating the machines the next day, If I was tired due to lack of sleep for whatever reason other than pot, the risks are really the same. My boss would ask me to get the forklift to do a few things. If I was tired I would tell him I would get it in a short time (so I can move around and wake up) or I would ask him to get someone else to do it. That is employee resposibility. If your employees are not doing that, you have a valid concern and need to either start the process of fireing (suspension w/o pay ect) If you feel that safety at work is being compromised you have a duty as an employerr to STOP it and make things safe for ALL employees. If they are hungover do to booze or drugs, or lack of sleep in general YOU as the employer must take action.

Llegal trade in marijuana in Canada will not end the illegal production controlled by organized crime that ships to the US. That means that if we legalize it we end up with the worst of both worlds: all of the social problems associated with a legal substance that is harmful _and_ the social problems created a crime culture devoted to the illegal production and sale.We are better off keeping it illegal until the US decides to legalize it. Screw what the US thinks. Do we run our own country or bend to the will of those pricks south of our border? I will leave it up to you to find what adverse affects weed has on a person. If any. I wonder why it is prescribed to AIDS patients? Oh yes, it acts as a painkiller and increases ones appetite. And eating healthy and alot will help AIDS patients keep their weight up and they don't feel as run down and don't need to rely on other medication that can really throw your body for a loop. Harmful? No more that booze, cigaretts, Mcdonalds or Walmart. And besides it will get to the US somehow. The US Military will just import it from Columbia or Mexico or whatever country they got their grow ops. OH and your social problems already exist with the drug. Decriminalizing or legalizing it can help bring the problem to the front and everyone can admit they have a problem and get proper help. Not to mention the US should protect their own borders and prevent the stuff from getting there. But again the US uses the C-130s to import their drugs. OK enough of that ranting. I would love the ability to grow a couple plants for personal use. That is all I really want. And that is no different from someone brewing beer or wine in their homes is it not? I have yet to see two pot heads got toe to toe in a hard fist fight. As a former DJ in a few clubs, those drunks get into fights ALL the damn time.

Let 'em go at it for awhile - US needs to replenish and retool for more battles to come. Meantime we need to plan the airstrikes of Iran...This is gettin' good. And this is what is called FREEDOM. Yeah sure let them kill each other off. Sure let them go to civil war and look retarded because you wanted to bring them freedom and peace. What did you bring them? Over 10 years of sanctions prior to the swift 'Mission not so Accomplished'. Violence getting worse almost on a daily basis. Can one be proud of that? Bush will play it off as, well DAMN SON, we tried to bring them peace and freedom but they keep choosing to beat each other up. Why get in the middle of this mess. Good time and reason to pull out. But Bush says he is not backing out. So prepare for worse things to come. Freedom costs a buck-0-five! Either this was all deliberate and planned, or the US government and intelligence agencies are the most incompetent on the planet.

Yes indeed, yet they still enjoy 'best friend status' with the US, simply because they are 'a drug dealer' that helps to feed (and stabilize the price of) the US' addiction to oil. There is a huge, glaring hypocricy about the US-Saudi (and Kuwaiti) relationship. This is true. 19 Hijackers that took down the WTC in NYC were from where? Saudi Arabia? (and we now know some of them are actually still alive) Who got invaded 2 months after 9-11? Afghanistan. Who was next? Iraq If we went after state sponsors of Terrorism, Saudi Arabia would be the first to go. But yes you are right. Saudi money and oil control part of the US and how they go about things on the global stage. The Saudi's have alot of influence on the US about as much as the Israeli lobbyist groups in the US. If the US was following the money trail, they would have been led back to the Saudi's But those links were never followed I think. Every other time they want to find out who financed these terrorists, and sometimes do. But none in Saudi Arabia. The money trail could have been picked up in Afghanistan and easily linked to Saudi Arabia (remember Osama is a Saudi) It's always funny too that the Bin Laden family in Saudi Arabia got contracts to rebuild some of the US's facilities in the Middle East and parts of Asia. Does that not sound fishy to you? Giving money to the family of a known Terrorist? In a way financing Al-queda indirectly? That money trail should be followed. And why the hell has that not been done as of yet?

What do you all think of this ?? http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/5275340.stm It is clear what Israel is doing in the Occupied Territories. Full dismanletling of Hamas, a freely elected party to represent the new Palestine. But Israel deems them illegal. But it is only illegal in Israel not where the prty actually exists and who it represents. Can I make the Lukid party illegal and abduct Olmert? NOOOO the backlash would be worse than what Lebanon got. http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/08/19/...s.ap/index.html After Israel is done, Hamas will not exist and the Palestinians will have no one to represent them. The elected goivernment is being dismantaled from the top down. But no one cries when these guys get thrown into an Israeli jail, most without charge or trial. Good chance Shalit is dead. It just has not been reported.
-
Actually that was me who said that. I do not recognize Israel's right to exist. And Rue, please point out to me on a modern map of the world where the country/state of Palestine exists. All I see are the occupied territories of the West Bank, and Gaza Strip, not countries of themselves. There has never been a country/state of Palestine, and there is no reason for that to ever change. I wonder why that it? I believe Palestine did exist prior to WWII and having part of it carved out for Isreal.

Not to mention the leaders of Hamas are now in Isreali custody. http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/08/19/...s.ap/index.html I think I get it now. It was more of a distraction for the world when Israel went into Lebanon. Hamas is going to be dismanteled from the top down. No ceasefire has been arranged between Israel and the Occupied Territories. That leaves Israel to smash Hamas, then eventually take over Gaza and the West bank and claim it as their own. It was not Hezbollah they were after. Also http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/5265934.stm YA so much for a ceasefire. Israel will simply just not stop. ( yah yah, they wanna take out Israel ect ect.... whatever) Even at this point if the Israeli soldiers were returned, Israel would still be arty'ing the south of Lebanon. Regardless of a ceasefire.

Judge gives it to the NSA
GostHacked replied to GostHacked's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
OH and you can bet Bush is shopping for Judges right now in order to overturn this ruling. Hard to do, this went to the Supreme Court. CBS news dot com has Bush's reactions to the ruling. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/08/18/...in1910323.shtml At 55 Seconds in he stumbles for words. Strawman my ass. -
Judge gives it to the NSA
GostHacked replied to GostHacked's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I disagree. My argument of judge shopping is accurate. The ACLU has shopped this lawsuit around. That's fact. Yes, anyone standing up for the Constitution is a good thing. I agree. And yes, you cannot overturn the Constitution, but you CAN overturn flawed judicial decisions. You can disagree all you want, but you are flat out wrong that it is a strawman argument. The Bush admin has shopped for their judges as well to get all these measures in place. Alito has been know to support the Bush admin. Maybe this judge is swayed by the real evidence and has nothing political to gain. Just wants to do what is right for thr counrty. I admit he could be doing this for his own gain, and he would gain. As a US citizen he is holding up the Constitution and saying the NSA is doing illegal things. He is protecting himself and all US citizens by holding up and protecting the Constitution. Maybe he is the one judge that cannot be bought or threatened by the Bush admin. This wil not be overturned in the courts. You will see another Executive Order to counteract this. -
Yeah, Israel should totally listen to the same half-wits who cheerlead the U.S. into the Iraq debacle. Good idea! Debacle? They won that war in a matter of months! I think that Iraq War is still going on. Or am I wrong? 'Mission Accomplished!' my ass. Jerrysinfeld - Lumping Venezuela in that group does not sit well with me. They do not deserve to be lumped in to that crowd. Chazez was reelected acter the US backed attempted coup to get Chavez out. The people revolted and elected Chavez back in. Democracy seems to work there. And it looks like France WILL kick in some troops. about 200 more. http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/08/18/...e.ap/index.html Argus Actually I can blame alot on the US for not putting a sooner end to the crisis. They vetoed a previous resolution on having Israel withdraw on the notion that Israel has a right to defend itself. So it tied up the process in the UN to allow Isreal the time it needed to get the job done. The US would have let Isreal go for a couple extra months before they would have said anything. But International outcry put the US in a position where they needed to act to save face. And why was France and the US needed to broker a deal anyways? I thought this was between Israel and Lebanon? Should THEY not be sitting at the table to resolve this? If both parties were not willing to sit at the table to talk (and we know the president of Lebanon was crying while addressing the UN asking for someone to step in and stop the violence. Begging Israel to stop. Those cries fell on deaf ears.

Judge gives it to the NSA
GostHacked replied to GostHacked's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Strawman. Actually since you presented the argument (of judge shopping), then Black Dog's rebutle is definatly NOT a strawman. And someone is actually standing up for the Constitution for once. THAT is a good thing and a victory for the American people. You cannot overturn the Constitution. If that is the case, then throw away the Constitution alltogether. -
France along with the US was one of the few who brokered a deal for a ceasefire. I'd say they did well. Considering the UN is a waste of time and I knew a resoluion was weeks away when the fighting started. Do you really want to get in the middle of two brutes beating the piss out of each other? Ever see bouncers break up bar fights? There is a reason these guys are large/strong individuals. But who wants to get in the middle and break up the fight when they are throwing bombs at each other. I sure as hell would not. Anyone in their right mind would not. Not at all. I agree with small tactical units to accomplish much more. Well at least they are making an effort. How many troops does Canada, UK, US, plan to kick in? I don't even recognize Israel's right to exist. And I am not even Muslim. I am agnostic but more of an athiest. When Israel releases the hundreds of Lebanese and Palestinian prisoners (a good deal of whom might be completely innocent) Then they can release those two soldiers that were kidnapped. So you want to destroy your neighbours home and land because a few of the tenants are bad? You can evict the bad ones without needing to blow up the neighbourhood. You just need to go about it a different way since everything else they have tried seems to have no effect or flat out failure.
-
Fallacy. Nope. The only thing "stability" does is provide a docile environment for Iran and co. to continue moving forward with their plans. So it wil take Iran 20 years to get nukes? I thought they were an imediate and grave danger to the US. Or at least that is what I am being told. I want to preemtively attack the US for they have nukes too. I am afraid they will use them on me or someone else I know. (laughable right?). Sure go ahead and blow up Irans nuke sites. At the same time the US should be charged with cleaning up all the depleted uranium rounds from the A-10s. And all those small tactical (possibly nukes) weapons. Bomb them back into the stone age again then. That will win friends and solve this issue?
-
http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/08/17/dom...t.ap/index.html I am surprised to see this and welcome it with open arms. I hope this judge gets more support on this matter. I don't think the wiretapping will stop right away, or the Bush administration may try to skirt around it by blasting "WE NEED THE TOOLS TO CATCH TERRORISTS!" I am hoping we find more of the actions of this administration illegal. I am sure it has broken a few rules itself. Good to see this bit of news today. EDIT, wow I should have read through the title before I posted. "Judge holds up the constitution and says the wiretapping is illegal."
-
But Afghanistan and Iraq were worth it? I thought OBL orchestrated 9/11? Get those guys in the caves with the box cutters and liquid explosives before they strike again! The US wanted Osama soooo bad they invaded 2 countries over it and yet still have to capture him. I guess once you work for the CIA you cannot actually leave the CIA. Osama was on the CIA payroll when the US supported the Muhajedeen to ward off the Soviets. Come on you are either with us or against us! I wonder who's side Osama is on then. Which brings me to this This is a good question. With all the surveilance on world financial transactions (and don't kid yourself, everything that is electronic is being monitored) youn think that they would have noticed the money flowing. But again, why have they not been able to capture Osama? Is he not the worst terrrorist in the world? And you don't need a large team. You can compartmentalize it all. For example, I can work on a terror plot, only inform a couple people of my intentions, but only give them a small peice of anything they need to know. They together may know everything, but not knowing what each other knows, I can control every aspect of the plot. I have 5 guys and give them specific instuctions, each one does their job without knowing what the job is of the other. You can easily do this. It is not that hard. So you would not need alot of people involved in the scheme.
-
I think we have to consider long-term involvement, say, the maintenance of bases, if necessary, without the permission of the "host" countries. True. How does that play out? IF NATO decides to pull out, what then of the permanent foriegn bases there? Personell gets pulled and they mothball it? Or hole up in it and shoot anyone that comes close?
