Betsy As and atheist/agnostic person, I can tell you there is no seperation of church and state. I was brought up with out religion, but was taught good morals and respect for others. Religion cannot teach me anything my parents have not already taught me. Athiests should know the seperation better. Everywhere I go, relgion is there, news, media, government, big buisiness, ect. So to say we are bigoted (maybe only to others who shove a religion on us) and ranting fanatics, (see any member of parliment in any country) is shortsightedness and ignorant of you. You can replace Christians, with Jews, Hindus, Muslims, Catholics, ect ect. No religion has a clean past. So instead of bitching about the other religions and putting them down, (because only YOUR religion is correct right??) how about getting to know them, getting involved with them. Show them by example. The only way you can make other religions 'come of age' is to help them. Christians, according to themselves, are more enlightened than Muslims. This is the impression I am getting here in the thread. So the action of saying how barbaric the Muslims are negates the high ground you are trying to take. Yes the murder was wrong. But religion had little to do with it. It was a long 'tradtion' from ages ago. Someone mentioned that Muslim women are beat up all the time. Take a look around at some womens shelters and tell me what you see. You see women of all colours, creeds and religions. All victims of abuse. So religion has little to do with the overall staggering abuse women face. You don't need an oppressive religion to be an oppressive spouse.

Bush Orders Secret War Against
GostHacked replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
M Dancer If it was not that obvious, but recall how Iraq has been bombed for 10 years after the first Gulf War?? No Fly zones and other sanctions? The US bombed Iraq from the air for weeks before the land invasion. This prevented them from restarting their nuclear programme. So if you do the same to Iran, you just might get the same results as in Iraq. Just make sure you chew good enough before you swallow, you don't want to choke now do you? Choking can lead to a sudden death. -

Bit off more than they could chew it seems. Now they are looking at Iran as well to feast on. But slow down boy. Finish what is on your plate first before you go for seconds. -

And now you see the US is having an ecomonic crunch and the CND dollar is climbing. It is over 90 cents US, highest it has been in 25 years. So the US economy is making our dollar stonger. So why have not all fighter/intercepter/air superiority planes been cancelled?? And now ICBMs are basicly obsolete because they do not take into account of a different delivery system. (September 11, 2001) Let's see, now we have the F-22 Lightning Bolt II and the F-35 strike fighter. Seems like these planes, as soon as they are in full production are obsolete. If the plane is obsolete, why are countries still trying to develope more aircraft? Simply put, it was Canadian shortsightedness and US posturing politics that signed the end to the Avro. That plane would only need minimal upgrades to be comparable to anything the US Military has used up to this date. The Avro would have had a long life, and many countries would have been wanting to purchase it. We need less integration, not more with the US. The governments are being quiet about all this as coporations hammer out all the details so then they can present it to the governments of North America and say, this is how it is going to be now. Why not build a kick ass rail line?? I am sure it would be more efficient than building a huge ass hiway that carries thousands of trucks a day, more pollution, more resources being uses, more more more more... the American Way. I'd say it costs less to build a solid rail line than to build thousands of miles of 8 lane hiways. But what do I know. -

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/05/23/...in2843582.shtml M Dancer See Gulf War 1 and the 10 year no fly zones plus sanctions on Iraq. This gave the result of Saddam Hussein's Iraq not being able to revive their nuclear programme. Bush Cheney 2008 I guess the Bush Administration was in a lot of stress prior to the invasion of Iraq. That bark-o-meter was off the charts, and not even on the charts that mattered. Damn quotes made me do an edit -
There is no seperation of Church and State, in the US or Canada. The "US is One Nation Under God" , On the US money, "In God We Trust" The seperation never happened. Or it is more sublte than you think.

US Covertly Funding Al Qaeda
GostHacked replied to Catchme's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/wo...=la-home-center Gotta add to this thread here. Since it has been speculated that money missing from Iraq's coffers are going to Osama and Al-queda. The US flew pallets of money of there to help out in actually being able to pay for people and services at the beginning of the war. And we also found out that a lot of that money in the millions went missing. You can put two and two together and come up with the results. Wait wait wait, I thought it was already an effective criminal enterprise in Iraq before the US invaded. Either way Iraq is STILL contributing to Al-Queda, hahahha wait... not funny. But invading Iraq made it more of a problem and now they are getting more contributions to support their efforts. This could be termed as BLOWBACK. -

Are you still living at home??? Us bachelors do NOT , I repeast, DO NOT eat salads... even pre packaged ones. We are more likely to get BSE from all the burgers we eat. It won't matter if the salad is packaged or you have to cut it up. I am going to guess that E.Coli can affect heads of lettuce as well. I am not sure if the risk is the same for both. -

Ah yes but the people who suffered from the ecoli in salad greens can and do. A very scarry program on CNN tonigh, really shows why we should not be eating pre packaged salad greens or any other type from the US. But Cattle are once again getting the blame, perhaps its time we all started growing our own food and buying locally. The salad bit is interesting to note as well. I can tell you how many of those prepackaged Dole salads we move out the door on a weekly basis. Dole has a range of about 20 different salads available. We move on average 2-3 skids of a type of salad per week. 40 cases on a skid let's say. Anyone of those could be contaminated with E.Coli. And I bet they do come from the US, I really am not sure if Dole packages their salads 'localy' here in Canada or in the US. Long way for a salad to come from. -

Negilence comes into play, saftey protocols are chucked out the door, as long as the profits are good and shareholders are happy (be careful of where you invest your money, you might be indirectly supporting this ) then everything is fine. I have been finding recently and I am to blame myself, no one has pride in their work anymore, no one wants to be the whistleblower, and no one demands better quality anymore. Everyones attitude is 'meh, who cares, does not affect me', but when in fact it does. -

And when the US cleans up it's mess, that will take care of the other 2/3's.

No worries, I will make up for it. The likelyness of a terror attack in Canada is remote compared to the likelyness of a terror attack in the US. Remember, Osama put a Fatwa on the west, and yes that includes Canada. Why? Because we were there bombing them. We were messing with their internal affairs. If our proximity to the US (economicls ideology, durrr freeeedummm) makes us a huge target for terrorism, then why was Spain hit with those train bombs?? Spain is a better target? How about the UK , London was hit and no where near the US. The attacks may have not been staged, but you cannot refute the evidence that the US knew the attacks were comming, but may not have known exactly when. There were enough warnings to show that. So do they really hate us for our Freedoms?? Why is that? What freedoms? Why do they hate our freedoms? This does not make any sense to me. Why should I be hated for I am free? I thought that would make someone envyous of me and they might want to have some of this freedom. So come on all you experts and tell us all exactly why they hate us and our freedom. I will make this harder for you, leave out religion. -

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/05/18/...in2826143.shtml Okay. One of the comments on that page really struck me. If the food was not good enough to give our pets but good enough to be eaten by the animals WE eat. You are what you eat correct? You want the best quality chicken and meats right? You get out what you put into it correct? If we feed our animals crap food, we might as well skip the step and eat it directly ourselves. Sure extreme but you get the point. Some will be affected by the contaminated food more than others. -
Things have really shaken the Bush Admin lately. Maybe in this thread we can deal with how the World Bank, the IMF. How they work, how they where created, and by who. And for what purpose. I am not sad to see him go.

Man this Ron Paul guy is a spirited one. http://infowars.net/articles/may2007/170507Ron.htm I know you anti-conspiracy-omg-alex-jones-is-a-hack-journalist will hate the link, but at least watch it. Wolf Blitzer Situation Room Ron Paul stands by his comments without remorse and asks Guiliani to apologize. OK now go ahead and pick it apart. -
When dealing with long URLs, some email/forum software will truncate the link and leave some dots. This can save on screwed up texting formatting on the page. The link is corect, but when you cut and paste it, you are pasting the truncated link, leaving out some of the information. All you need to do next time is open the link, copy the URL link in the browser to your post. Problem solved. I know it is odd, but hey, we are talking about the CIA.

Baby's Bizarre 'bite' of Passage with Cobra
GostHacked replied to scribblet's topic in The Rest of the World
Actually, what I would really do is keep my children away from people like you. Physical trauma is one thing, psychological trauma is another thing. A snake may take out an eye. And at such a young age, the kid will be able to overcome it. It will be the psychological damage the kid sustained during the 'snake attack' that I would be more worried about. Again, what works in India, can stay in India. It does not work here in Canada or the USA. And there is no need to put preasure on the Indian government to change anything they do inside their own borders. To each their own. And if you actually thought I was serious for one moment, then you need to get your head checked or push the chair away from the desk for a few minutes and think about it. If I ever did that to my kid, I expect my family to step in and take over. Screw Child Services. My kid would just end up in a foster home. I would feel better knowing my family cares enough to step in and take over. And I respond for the hell of it. Because I want to. And for the record, I have no children. Also, does that kid look scared at all?? You would know if the kid was scared. -

Well to be fair, look at the MSM and tell me who are they talking about more?? Evil people are evil no matter where they are. Drea.. Hilarious when it is broken down to the basic components, it comes down to just that. I want to add to it. My leader sees your leader as black and white I see my leader as grey. I lambaste other leaders while making excuses for my own leader's incompitence. My reasons for having your leader killer are better than your reasons for killing mine. Ron Paul put it as the Republican Party lost it's way.
