  1. http://www.crooksandliars.com/2007/07/29/t...bcs-journalism/ From the second video, they are discussing the tight grouping of the bullet wounds in Tillman's head. Automatic rifles are not that accurate at long ranges, but at a close distance, it could do just this. At 30 feet away, it is not that far. Most modern automatic rifles are probably more accurate than what I think it can do. If that was friendly fire, I don't wanna know what hostile fire is.
  2. Log in before posting???? What browser are you using?? Security settings on your PC? Is it only MLW you have this issue with or have you at least tried a few other forums to see if you can post?? From what I see,,,,, there is no way to save anything before actually logging in. It should prompt you to log in even BEFORE you post, for me it always drags me to log in after I click the reply. If this is not happening on your PC, try posting from another computer... if you have the same issues, then there is a problem. If you do not have an issue with the other PC, then you need to scan that PC for viruses, spyware, ect, do some windows updates, ect ect..
  3. But that is a good thing. Americans want instant gratification, not long lines and waiting for polling results. Plenty of nations still use paper ballots and the elections are hardly "secure". Well, good things come to those who wait. Right? Any you know that paper ballots are a lot more tamper proof than any electronic voting system. Electronic voting makes it easier for results to be manipulated. Other things Americans want instant gratification that comes back to haunt them, McDonalds, Walmart. They want instant gratification, but are told to have patience when they are frustrated with the current progress in Iraq. Seems like a 'Do as I do, and not as I say', type of thing. The instant gratification of the last election has brought impatience among the American population.
  4. It's the Demoratic Party that pushed for e-voting. Either way, electronic voting is not as secure as good ol paper ballots. Just because the Dems brought it in, blame both the dems and the repubs for actually using and implementing them.
  5. Exactly. The US is still squirming to get out of that one. Wonder how much squirmin it will take to get out of Iraq?
  6. None of it is "wasted", unless you have a competing idea and identical sales job to waste it on. Clinton sold us on Kosovo, and Bush Sr. sold us on Kuwait (much tougher sales job). The current president and his party have prevailed politically, so he gets to call the shots. Whiners should win elections and pick their own money "wasting" projects...you know..like they did in Canada with the Gun Registry. Ahh, yes the Canadian expert. Again, I agree with you, government waste is rampant everywhere. We were sold the Gun Registry, and now we find out that we paid too much for it. Whoever was selling this idea, was a great salesman, for the end product is definately what we thought we were paying for. War on Terror, a few years and 100 million dollars??? SOLD !!!!! This war on terror has costs that put the Gun Registry/Sponsorship Scandal, and every other Canadian money government money scheme combined for the last 20 years. Even if you proportion it, there is so much more waste.. and yes it is waste, of money on this war on terror. Contract is not on time, and WAY over budget. I am sure the investors are happy about that. They are the ones making the cash, I guess. So again, it is about the selling of the idea for some kind of profit. Profit does not mean only a monetary profit, there are other profits besides money. The United States is doing well financialy during this war on terror, however we should look at the so called 'progress' in Iraq and Afghanistan to show you how well your money is being spent. Feel like a fool? Cause someone managed to part you from the money. So progress in one area, means that someone is getting screwed in another. Cannot deny that this is how it works today. When the US is done screwing the other countries and areas out of money and natural resources, there is nothing left. Poverty, hate, and more terrorism. For now the US's current strategy is working. So again, once we read the fine print on anything that is sold to us, you will discover all the 'clauses, exeptions, lack or warranty and service can be read, and you will know right away that the verbal pitch just does not quite reflect the written agreement. Bush may go down as the best salesman ever. But have you ever seen those shadey vaccuum salesman?? They want to dirty your home to prove to you that they can clean it. Is this the approach the Bush admin is taking?? Make everything dirty and broken, just to show you he can fix it all?? I guess he is still in the 'dirty/break' stage. Anyone with some intelligence can spot these shiesters before they even knock on the door.
  7. Not really, and not to the extent that Gore is. Not even Clinton is so shamelessly and hypocritically selling snakeoil off the back of a wagon like Gore is. Promoting a book is one thing, but Gore has an entire travelling circus in high gear. Must have been using the same circus Bush used in the months before the Iraq invasion. Excuse me? You compare a sitting president talking to the nation about foreign policy to the profitmaking schemes of an ex vice president drumming up speaking fees and book sales? Yes, indeed, for the simple fact they want to sell the public something, for some kind of gain. Ex presidents write books to make money. This current president sold you a lie of a war, and you bought it. I'd demand my money back for the product is just not safe for anyone. How much money is wasted on the idea of this war on terror?? A book is sold to the people, the foriegn policy is sold to the people, and to other nations. Who is buying though?? It is all about the sell, no matter HOW you sell it, and what position you are in. Bush has to be a salesman in order to be a President, he sold the Iraq War to the American population at ... oh shit,... what is the cost of this war now?? But the only thing is, I do not know where those profits are going. Hell, the Bush Administration even admits they don't know where some money went, neither do the Iraqi's. So you see it is the same. Sell, sell, sell. You can sell a book well, if the ideas are popular and the information is good and interesting. This book called the War on Terror, that Bush is trying to sell, keeps needing reediting before it even hits the shelves. Even after it hits the shevles, there has been at least 5 major revisions to this idea that Bush wants to sell to you. War sells, but who is buying?
  9. Betsy No matter what politician you are paying attention to, they are ALL trying to sell something. How many books have come out that shows how good the US is, and now on track they are for the future? Again everyone wants to sell you something. Anything. Maybe Bush Jr should write a couple books so he can sell his ideas..... no one seems to be buying his spoken words anymore.
  10. Well here is the thing. I realize and understand that all ya'll are very conservative, but if you have no idea how electronic voting can easily be tampered with, then all your conservatism will equall shit when all is said and done. Once you understand that all information is just a 1 and a 0, then you can begin to understand how easily it is to manipulate any computer data and make it seem like everything is ok. Ever had a virus on your PC or spyware?? Did you even know it was there? Did you even know that it is doing things to your PC that is bad for it, and therfore bad for you. With wireless access now widley rampant, it will make it easier to tamper with.
  11. Your thinking of the Clinton days. Clinton couldn't even hit em with a cruise missile. Bush is using the US military as a huge stick, bigger stick than a cruise missle and the results are exactly the same..........
  12. Which sucks, because the US is always hitting where they were.
  13. What did you expect...hugs and kisses? If you can't take it, don't dish it out. "Wah" indeed. Since that is the only thing you have rebuttled to, then ..... ummm.... then it really is you who cannot take it. You said nothing about my bit on electronic voting, nor the other thing. If you could take it, your rebuttles would be much different. But it gets to you, I know. Maybe it is because you know that I am telling the truth about it, and well, it really plays into how Bush and his cohorts managed to hijack the United States and take it for ransom.
  14. This is the most pathetic and consistent remark of all...some Canadians only see salvation from their own decisions and choices in the government of another nation. Pathetic..... Wah wah wah, you seem quite content in spitting out against anything Canadian when some of us start bashing the US. Typical right wing mantra, of mindless ever changing drivel. From Topaz After so many years of dealing with computers, being a help desk jockey, and now a systems admin, I can tell you that it is very easy to manipulate anything computer electronic related. It is a 1 and a 0. That's it. So even if you want to fantasize about this, is that after I hit 'Add Reply' my whole post is edited on the fly and everything could have changed. HELLO EDIT BUTTON !!!!! Ok, but that is after. Electronicly untraceable computer tampering is easier than you think. With more modern automated computers/system for voting and tallying up the votes, the more of a chance the data can be changed and the results forged. Take a look at how most software, even heavily encrypted needing CD check ect ect..... I know many of you, including me know how to do this. Emulators, cd-cracks key-gens. But yeah, blame the computer. Now really look at it. OK look at me too because I am a Loon. There is something more to 9/11 and many really missed what it really meant. I never really realized this untill a conversation with a friend based on my prediction of a next terror attack. He said the next one will be something historical in context. He says, what if Buckingham Palace was totaled in an attack. You are loosing history. In a way it really struck me. What a way to change the way people think and see, but by altering what they see and think. Buckingham Palace has been around for at least 900 years. If it goes, what do you really loose. You no longer see it on your drive into London's downtown. No longer on the skyline, out of sight out of mind. The WTC may end up that way, forgotten history. A generation grew up before it, one during it, and now one without it. But something may be yet learned by this soon to be forgotten history. Who can really remember 9/11 with all this Iraq thing going on and stuff.
  15. DURRRR you think this could be part of the problem?? http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article722951.ece http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,22081041-1702,00.html The media pounds us with the reports of the terror and acts of terror, but never really lets you know in on those who were released. Not enough evidence, wrong guy ect ect... or the threat never really was there. Take a look at how many terror suspects are detained in the UK and the US, then do a search on those who were released.
  16. FTA After readin the article, it is clear that Policeing is messed. Just some other 'boys club' That man should be promoted instead of fired.
  17. He wanted proof he got it. Only people with ADD think the clips are 15 seconds long.
  18. Prove me wrong then. If YOU first post a number of examples to back your claims. Otherwise what you have posted are opinions. I merely stated that I thought you were overstating them. The ball is back in your court. Something as simple as this is easily remembered. Before the war, Iraq had WMDs, after, uhhh none. How about, I will fire anyone in my staff who leaks information, then commutes a sentence for the same crime. Hurrrr http://youtube.com/watch?v=vBIeJ2d87NY Cheney cant keep his story straight either http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3hRvj22RWs&NR=1 Hypocrytes http://youtube.com/watch?v=XaAH0sEJfGk
  19. No worries Topaz, ignore the haters. What you say is entirely plausible, and very likely probable. Since it is known that Osama Bin Laden himself had dealings with the United States in the way his Muhajedeen got support from the US in terms of weapons and intelligence to fight off the Soviets (k up to speed now??), what makes it sooooo outrageous that the same Blowback could come to the United States again?
  20. That Bush lies to everyone when it is convenient for him? That Bush lies to everyone to cover the lies he made the day before? Bush will often say one thing one week, then the reverse of it the next, then reverse it back the week after. If any of you cannot see or hear that, then you really need to listen, not just hear. Pay attention, all in all the President is still a POLITICIAN and will act like one whenever it suits him. The President is not god, and neither is Cheney (ohh the lies he spews is just as bad) And it is a communication problem, because he always changes his story. If I did that at my job, I'd be fired and walked out the door instantly. But it seems ok when the President does it, over and over again. Write down the talking points he made today, then write them down tomorrow, and keep going for a week or two.
  21. You and millions more. I get it all the time. What blows my mind is how many people think my assertions are laughable.
  22. Why would you say that? GB is the closest thing to the future dictated by Orwell in 1984 and it has been under labour rule. please do explain. The OP was a critique of the left - accusing the left of being 'Orwellian' regarding environmentalism. Thus, it is a 'rightwing' critique and thus, my amusement, given that it is the rightwing that has such a long history of actualy acting Orwellian. The right wing acting Orweillian? Why is it that left wing countries have governments that creep further into individual lives than do right wing governments? I think your pre-conceived notion of the right wing being closer to orwellian needs to be re-examined. Ask a libertarian. What is really going to blow your mind is that the 'left' and the 'right' in the government are the same. Both sides play the rest of the population for fools.
  23. I am a pot smoker, daily. I posted here recently in another pot thread that I had gotten 3 people fired at work for getting high on lunch break then getting back on heavy equipment. I do not tolerate that shit at all. And just like driving a car, you don't drink while driving, you don't smoke pot while driving. I can tell you from experience that pot can affect you in different ways, but can still manage to impare you when you are drivng and needing some quick reflexes (do you know how many sober idiots are there out on the roads along with you????????) So stay alert. Pot was decriminialized for a couple years, but never legalized. It meant the fine was not as heavy for posession, and the amount you can have on you before you could be busted for went up. So you could have a 1/4 ounce (7 grams) and would not get busted. Now it is back to what it was before. You can get busted for any amount of pot on you. Come hang out with me and my pals. We cannot even get off the freakin chair most of the time. I smoke after work to chill out, and I use it in place of prescribed anti-depressants (they made me feel more stoned out than pot, and I would have rather dealt with the depression without it). What it comes down to is personal responsibility and fucking common sense. Most people do not have either, so therefore it is illegal. You know it. I know it.
  24. Great! The in fact you are supporting one of the 'Big Three', GM. Saab is a line of automobiles manufactured by Saab Automobile AB company in Sweden, and is currently a wholly-owned subsidiary of the General Motors Corporation. Only since 2007. And I have not really supported them. I have not bought a GM in my life. Saab or otherwise. But you are right , they are owned by GM. But it is still a European car that is better than anything else GM makes domesticly in North America.
