Nuclear War Is Not and Should Not Be Unthinkable
GostHacked replied to jbg's topic in The Rest of the World
"Would you like to play a game?" So again, here it is proven that an Irrational man is needed for MAD. The rational man won't fire first or second, for both of them know that it is the end for both. The irrational man will strike first or strike back. A rational man will strike first or strike back. MAD only happens if both rational or irrational (or a combo of them) leaders fire ze missles. if one fails to launch for any reason, then MAD is a failure. Even a rational leader will fire back. If I go, you go. Simple as that. And there is no reason to complicate this matter. This is what it is. http://www.steampowered.com/v/index.php?ar...&AppId=1520 Here is one way a person can learn about MAD. Do it yourself. Pretty neat little game available on Steam. I played the demo and the interface it should remind you of the 1983's movie War Games. It is very somber, and the game is low def, not much in the eyecandy department, but when a city gets nuked and you see the death toll in the form of a little graphic with "Washington, 1.3 Milliion Dead" M. Dancer Under MAD, if a first strike is launched, AND THERE IS NO RETALITORY STRIKE, MAD has failed. As long as the stalemate continues, then the threat of MAD is saving us from MAD. Also some of you should check out a series called Jericho, I think it has been cancelled. But it raises some interesting questions and scenarios with regards to nuclear war. And to end this post : The best choice is not to play. -

http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/meast/11/28/...ests/index.html Just a couple days after letting 1500 of them go free. Ummm... So why is this not mentioned more in the news? Iran gets all the credit while Saudi Arabia gets the glory? -
ScottSA If you are constantly worried about the language used, then you will never accomplish anything. I am sure, being the bigger man you are, you can overlook such common errors as spelling and grammer... GRAMMAR ,, SORRY SCOTTSA. Many replies by many posters complain about spelling and grammar. But if you understood what the person said, then continue with the converstation. If you do not understand the persons post, then ASK FOR CLARITY instead of jumping the gun and calling us all uneducated (really this is waht you are boiling it all down to, but you will deny that anyways right?) Poist No substance here either, just attackin the poster for using WIKIPEDIA, knowing how innacurate it is. But the general message is there. Let me go back to it. Canada has a culture ... a mix of all cultures, and is constantly changing and morphing into somthing else. Our modern society is killing all cultures. What is the US's culture for that matter? The US is another 'melting pot' society. Lots of closed minded people here that cannot see outside the box for the blinders. I am personaly disgusted by how some of you post. Canada and the US were founded by English and French immigrants. Then many other Europeans came as well to settle here. You can find many different cultures in canada that make up the whole large cultural mosaic. Can anyone of you define US culture? Since they seem to have one and Canada is just a US-like culture? Similar yes. Different yes. But both are a mash up of many different cultures.I will say now that since we are all just a mash of different cultures, then we in Canada and the US do not have any culture at all. If Canada does not, then the US does not. Define native. How long do you have to be in one spot to be considered a native? if you are born there , you are native right? If you moved to emmigrated correct? I am a native of Canada. I was born here. My grandparents were born in Germany and Poland. The immigrated here after WWII. My personal culture is Canadian/German. I will offer a slap to the face of anyone saying that a certain people is supreme over others. For it is just bigoted and ignorant. I kind of like Rue's ice cream theory. We are all the same on the inside, but outside we are different. It is those differences we should embrace/respect. Take colour, religion, politics out of everyones life, and we will all fine out we are all in this together. But some kids are greedy and ignorant and don't want others to play in their sandbox, because they fear differences. FEAR. That fear of difference has been used throughout history to make ones culture/race seem superior than another. Fear. They are bushmen. Fear. They are uncivilized. FEAR. They do not speak the same language. Fear. They have a difference religion. Fear. They have a different way of doing things. FEAR FEAR FEAR. Fear of the unknown, but more or less people make false statements about the unknowns to make us FEAR more. So they can keep the control over us. Done ranting, back to your regularly scheduled bashfest.

Nuclear War Is Not and Should Not Be Unthinkable
GostHacked replied to jbg's topic in The Rest of the World
Nukes should be off the table. If one sees nuclear weapons as a defensive weapon, then why even complain when countries like Iran, North Korea (another example is India/Pakistan) develope nuclear weapons for self defence and to act as a deterrent from being attacked? The Cold War against the Soviet Union was more or less an economic battle. The Soviets could not keep up with the US's IMC (industrial military complex). The Soviets were in their own borders. It had an identity, and the Reds were in the US's sights. That seemed definable. The war on terror and 'islamofacists' is a harder war/battle to wage. The terrorists operate in every country for many reasons. So it is no longer a war about a certain peoples in a certain country. It is about terror throughout, and the control of everything. How can you use nuclear weapons against an entity that really has no geographical definition? How many countries can now be considered a target with the context of preemptive strike to combat terror and extreeeemism. This is the reason we are in Afghanistan and Iraq. Nukes cannot be used effectively to attain the goals of ridding terrorism. We are using conventional forces and weapons. So yes nukes can still be considered a defensive weapon. The nuclear defence is needed after a convential offence. I am confused now. How can nukes be considered defensive weapons? The Patriot Missle system is a defence weapon for sure. To defend against enemies weapons conventional or nuclear. Even if you have the Patriots as defence, then you can consider the incomming nuclear weapons as offensive. -
Best explanation so far. Some respect is just given. Like to your boss. But that respect can diminish over time once you get to know that boss.

Bush Cheney Sound advice Bush Cheney, but you rarely post with that advice in mind. And your last post lacked substance my 'friend'. But that is what I expected from you. Okay, Canada dangled a carrot in those US corporations faces. Who bit the carrot? Was it our fault for offering? Or the companies fault for buying into it. But you don't seems to have the understanding there are two sides to the coin. Blame others when it benefits you. Shift the blame. Phhffff,,, it is never ME, it is always the OTHER guy that screws up. Uh huh. Stop whining indeed. Oleg Bach, Crooked politicians and greedy corporations are to blame. Regardless of their nationality. It does seem like someone sold the US down the river. Not only does moving production facilities over to China make things cheaper for US/Canadian consumers, it also gives China the technology needed to take them to the next level. China owes much of their recent technological advances to US/Canada/UK Multinational corporations manufacturing high tech equipment in China. So China gains economicly and technologicly. Where are most of your electronics made these days? ANY piece of electronic technology. My work laptop here is a Toshiba, and it was made in China. My handheld scanner guns are made in Mexico. My forklift computers are made in Malaysia. The lithium ion batteries are "Cell origin Japan", but "Further processed in China". Remember when Made in Japan was coveted? Remember when Made in the USA meant something? Remember the quality you got when you hade an item Made in Canada? I challenge evereyone to find a piece of modern electronics that is widely used that is made in the USA, Canada, Britian, France, Germany..even Japan for that matter.

Saudi gang-rape Victim is Jailed

Those are the "Bush" reasons for the wars. And they turned out to be completly false. If you want a place for Al-Queda to flourish, again we can look at Saudi Arabia. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,313063,00.html Nov 27/2007 These are guys they rounded up in 2003, and since 2003. I promise I won't drive out the infidels. Laughable. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/artic...-2004Dec18.html Dec 18-19/2004 I wonder why Al-Queda in Saudi Arabia is rarely mentioned They came from all over, Syria, Iran, Lebanon, Palestine and Saudi Arabia. http://www.cfr.org/publication.html?id=7740 not dated http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/4749812.stm Feb 26/2005 But they promised not to do it anymore. Damn, only if I promise not to speed anymore, I won't get pulled over by the cops. I PROMISE !!! Trust me, I am Al-Queda, I stand by my words. -
*slaps my forehead* If you would stop and think for a moment, we might have a decent conversation. They moved the jobs to Canada, found out we cost just as much as the US workers, so they moved to Mexico. Then overseas. Don't blame Canada for US Corporations raping you at every chance they get. Those companies came into Canada, built centers, and then left to build another facility in a cheaper country. Stop blaming Canada for everything the US is doing. But with your logic BC, Canada can do exactly as the US does, so whatever right? So you blame Canada for a decision by a US corporation. You are the blame shifter indeed. Transgressional blame shifter. If you really disagree with things I have stated, then please go on. If you can stay within the context of what I am saying then please continue.

Debt is going up all over the place. Thing is, everyone owes everyone else, the way the globalists have done it, is to share the debt across many countries. If I am going down, bring you all with me. Tie it all in so one factor affects all. YAY for integration. We can take most cities situations before Almalgamation happened. My father worked for the Region of Sudbury driving plow/spreader ect. There was also another department for the CITY of Sudbury, doing much of the same but within the city proper limits, the region took care of all other areas. Now that the City and Region have been combined, they are now swimming in debt. With the old two seperate entities, both were operating at a surplus most years. The debt in the US is expected to hit trillions. Does not help when accounting practices are not the best. Remember good ol Donald Rumsfeld? Saying that the Pentagon could not account for 1.3 trillion dollars? But phhhh it is only 1.3 trillion. And this is just in the Pentagon. Who knows what kind of crappy bookkeeping is done at other departments of the US Government. Our Canadian government is the same way. I deman receipts for my so called hard working tax dollars. I demand better people to manage the money. I demand better. When corporations move overseas to make more profit for the same item (very low labour standars, lax environmental standards...and there is no way you can garuntee me quality assurance in many of these places. My clothes fall apart alot faster now than they used to. This list goes on. When a corporation moves to a country where cheap labour is there are many things that happen. 1. job loss 2. many of those loosing jobs end up on social assistance in order to live 3. middle class now becomes the poor class 4. poor people can only buy shit products made overseas. 5. poor people cannot financially contribute to the country (low wages, low taxes) This is why Walmart is so popular. No one cares where the product is made. We also have the mentality now that cheap products can easily be replaced with another cheap product. Are you really saving any money? Or are you getting nickle and dimed to financial death? I buy a 10 dollar item Made in Canada or the USA (even then that is deceiving) and it lasts be 10 years. I buy the same item at 1 dollar made in China, do you really think this thing will even last a year? If that is the case, then you are already loosing time, effort and money. For instead of one trip to buy a quality item, you now make over 10 trips (time spent, fuel spent, wear and tear on your vehicle ect ect) Not only that money and energy is being spent to move all that stuff from an overseas facility. The sucky thing is this weekend I spent 1400 on my new computer. Most of the stuff is made overseas. I just hope it lasts 4 years.

There are many Canadian Icons in our culture. Learn some Canadian History to find out. Then you will understand what kind of culture we in Canada have. It may not be the IN YOUR FACE EXTREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEME culture you might be refering to. Canada is just different, and we know that. Thing is, we really don't need to boast about it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Culture_of_Canada Alright, maybe it is what everyone of you here think what our culture is. Yes we have influences on our culture from outside sources in our past. This makes us a culture for all. Hard to describe, but to say we do not have culture that is our own is downright wrong. In that case the US has exported their culture all over the place.

I am really surprised you linked the picture but not the original article. This article should be called "One MORE down, still many to go".

Kengs333 Do you like Elton John? Lance Bass? Man, there are so many fags out there, and lesbians making great music, it is almost a shame to shun them for them being immoral, but colour me rainbow if their grooves aren't making me shake my bootay. I have done plenty of Dj work and have actually DJ'd a drag queen show. Those 'bitches' knew I was green in this area, but the 'queens' just said "Don't worry dahling, you play music, we dance, people watch, and we have fun. I tell you this was in my fave top 5 events that I have DJ'd at. One of them made such a magnificent transformation that I eventhough I knew she was a HE, I could just contain myself from jumping 'her'. I knew the package was there, but those pants made my mouth water, like most ladies would KILL for an ass like that, and this guy has it. I really had a lot of fun doing that event. Thunderous applause after each 'girl' did their bit. I also did some karoke in a gay bar, and I actually hit some of the gay bars now and then. A friend of mine WHO IS GAY, is a bartender at the gay bar, and is also a local artist. His paintings are showcased at the bar, and he has sold some great works. He has also been with the same guy for over 5 years. Who never knew fags can commit. Oh and Keng, they are both in their early 30's, and I can tell you, they like men, not boys.

It is the false sense of security that so called No Fly list gives to people. And it is entirely for domestic use. No other country as far as I know (other than Britain) has a no fly list. If the terror no fly list is 750,000, then the amount of people affected are already over 10 million. For I would guess that anyone with that name gets flagged and checked. I am a Chris, so if there was a Chris on that list, then anyone with the name Chris will be flagged and checked. Retarded really, and a waste of good resources that could be more effective in another area. How many legit 'no flyers' has the US taken into custody? How many of them were charged? How many were sentenced? How many released back into the herd eventhough they are a suspected (for this purpose I will use terrorist) person. Guilty untill Proven innocent. What is this the USSR?

Yes they are a business. They are in the business of making money off of everyone elses money. Plain and simple. I have yet to be a homeowner, so much of this I will admit, I know little about. So I am just throwing out there, what is in my head and what I interperet. No I don't argue they should lose more money, but I won't shed a tear if they do not make a billion dollars for last quarter. The banks play a role in that housing market and seem to influence greatly (lending to developers, then to homeowners). Dishing out all the money to new homeowners who (some) will eventually end up in poverty will hurt the banks bottom line. And that is all the investors care about, the bottom line, they don't care how it is acheived. But as someone stated in this thread already, the market will go up and down.... so eventually it will go back up. If it does not, then the bank should really rethink their strategy when it comes to investing in the housing market. Overall this is probably a loss they can overcome. How did the banks do during the Great Depression? And if there is another Depression, why is the US at the center of this collapse? I also get messed up on I before E except (sometimes) after C.
-
They may loose money, buy they gain property. The former homeowner now has no money, and no home. So with this simple explanation, the bank can be viewed to win either way. Without getting into a course to earn an economic degree, this is what it boils down to correct?? Besides, it is all numbers and figures. They can be manipulated to show and prove anything. And they are in a knowingly risky business to begin with. They are part of the equation in this whole thing. The banks should not be willing to hand out large sums of cash to people then, they should be scrutinizing their clients more. And simply sh!t happens many times. The banks have a large effect on our economy. They lend us the money with an interest and to have something put up for collateral (see this is the banks covering their own asses to minimize the loss impact. The banks make sure they look out for their own. The banks are always going to make a profit, hence the win win mindset that I have. And the markets go up and down, they may 'loose' this quarter, but since most of the major banks have been recording record profits for the past few years, I won't be shedding a tear if the CEO cannot get that new Benz he always wanted. OH and get this, people invest money right? So some people must invest in the housing market. Most of this is done through a financial institution like a bank. The investor MAY get a return on his investment, the bank makes money off his investement either way correct? they do charge a fee right? The banks are always making money, always. They will loose now and then yes, but they will always be able to bounce back because of the diverse investements the bank is involved in. I am not a financial or economic expert, but when you boil it down to the basics without all the fancy terms, money simply changes hands while some other middle hand takes a cut, just for administering the transaction. And who's hands are getting the money? You may just be looking at the money flow instead of hard assets along with the money. I invest in a house. I got 20 grand to throw up for it. I get a loan from the bank, bank owns house untill it is paid in full. I default on the loan, I am out of a house, money, and my credit goes to shit. Can the bank ever default on a loan? Any reprocussions if this happens to a bank? The bank has my payments up untill this point, at that time, they default me on the loan and take the house. They can resell it to others. The bank is out of the cash (for the moment) but gains the house and property as an asset. You cannot see this as a gain either way? The bank either gets paid in full or gets the house and property. White Doors EDIT le This sounds like they are comparing growth spurts over a certain time period. Last year was better than this year, but there was a steady up trend for the last 5 years prior(don't quote me on this as a fact). Housing market has gone up and down up and down up and down. But look around you at all? There are more houses now than there was 20 years ago. Someone is making money off all this stuff. Guess who it is.

Purple Monkey Dishwasher. Keng He died for all our sins. Even the gay ones. Looks like Jesus saves, all of us no matter what happens in our lives. He simply died for our sins of past present and future. Jawapunk said Keng said By this are you admitting it is something that happens naturaly? If you are gay, you are gay. Just like if you are Christian, you are a Christian. A jew is a jew, a catholic is a catholic. A gay, is just gay, natualy gay. God made him that way, and it was not a choice for one to be gay. If there are gays, it is because God permits it. Therefore totaly contradicting anything you say against gays. If god was true and just and everything the bible says he is, then god allowed all this to happen. His choice. The reason why people are gay? God made it that way. Jesus died for God's mistakes which he transgresses to the rest of us in the form of sinning. Shcplaadauuu!! (just some term my cousin uses) Also check out a kick ass track called "I heart fags" by MC Frontalot. http://frontalot.com/index.php/?page=lyrics&lyricid=16

Saudi gang-rape Victim is Jailed
GostHacked replied to southerncomfort's topic in The Rest of the World
Also another question of why did the US invade Iraq? Most of the hijackers on 9/11 were Saudi. There is a double standard and hypocracy abound here. And on that note the Iraqi's were much more free under Saddam's rule than in Saudi Arabia at any time. Women did drive, women did hold important positions. I also want to ask a serious question about the Saudi laws. If the spouse of the woman told her that she must get in the car, knowing she would be among with him, unrelated men, if she refuses, what then? Seems like she is screwed either way. If she complies, that is against Saudi rule. If she refuses, then it seems to also be against Saudi rules (because she defys her husband) and she gets a so called deserved beating either way. Crappy comparison. Just for the simple fact that Bush did not think about Bin Laden too much. Bush just did not think the warnings were anything to consider. So you are comparing a man who did little to nothing to prevent the attacks given the multiple warnings from multiple sourses in multiple countries...... to a woman who is going to get screwed either way for the simple fact she was born into a crappy intolerant bigoted society. And as Ron Paul put it, The reason we have been attacked, is because we have been doing the attacking. Again, your comparison is crappy. -
I consider myself an agnostig/athiest, but I still have good morals and values. It is the upbringing that has more to do with this than any religion. My parents never taught religion, never forced me to 'Sunday School'. Never was forced to go to church for anything. I have pushed 'god' out of my life because, I cannot simply put faith into a huge unknown. I have faith in the proven (for the most part) and little faith in religion or a god. Again, my parents tought me imp[ortant things I need to know in life, I don't steal, I don't kill, I have respect for my fellow man. I help out when it is needed. Live by those simple guidlines, and religion will have become a thing of the past. You will put the faith in yourself instead of a god, and to me, this is where faith should lie in. Religion is a very personal thing. My Oma (who passed away a couple weeks ago) was a very religious person, but you would not know it by talking to her. She was not impressed with organized religion and how it was presented/organized. She took god into her life, but on her own terms and conditions. She worshiped god in her own way. Was it wrong because she never went to church? Was is wrong because she did not follow the religious herd? No. She made her faith very personal. That kind of thing just cannot or does not get shared with anyone. So people should take religion and god into their homes/lives on their own terms. Build your own personal relationship with god, no one else is going to do that for you. No one. What pisses most of us off is the total commercialization of certain holidays. Christmas is one of the high times for our economy. Buy, buy ,buy!! We put more value in materialistic items than the whole ideology behind the religious holidy event. Sharing and giving comes in many forms. Presents are just ONE small aspect of this. My parents always asked me 'what do you want for christmas'. My usual reply was, 'not sure, I really have everytyhing I need' I am not a greedy or selfish person. When mass media and corporations throw the idea of buy buy buy all the time in your face, and you buy into it, you are loosing a part of your faith by doing so. You are letting those who want to make money, influence you on your views of what a that holiday should mean. So you are letting others force god and religion out of your lives. Following another herd. So Christmas to me is a happy time, being with family and friends, having some drinks and some great food. Being together and interacting with each other. Ditch the electronic distractions for awhile and talk to each other. Face to face, in person. Your family is the most important thing in your life. Treat it as such!

No, I have not looked at it. There is a drawback to it, with living in Quebec, but working in Ontario. The taxes, or claims for living in Q, but working in O, there are some regulations for tax purposes, and would not benefit me in the way I want. I would like something relatively close to where I work for I do not own a vehicle. Then again, in about 4 years when I am ready to buy a house, that could be an option if regulations change. And yes, tooo much f*cking cleaning. I have a small townhome as it is right now, and with just me and my cat, it still can be a hassle to clean. I do not think biofuels, hydrogen are the right course of action, they have an overall net loss of energy greater than any other current popular fuel (oil, gas, coal). Hydroelectric damns benefit us greatly however. Windmills, solar panels. Even new wave electric generation. (articulated bouys in the ocean that ride the waves producing electricity when moved). Everything has an impact on our environment and our economy. I know a huge switch will hurt the economy in a drastic way, but there is going to be a point in time where it will hurt, and we are going to notice it. The depression can and should come after the fall of oil. Also, I do not think that growing all this corn is causing food shortages. Food distrobution is the problem. Trust me, I work in a grocery warehouse for Loblaws. No shortage of food here at all. We are short on healthy affordable food however. All this food goes to sit on grocery store shelves untill you are ready to pick it up. Much of Africa and other poor countries do not have the food distribution infrastucture as Europe, North America and many other parts of the world. We could stand to share much of our food, since North Americans in general are getting fat, lazy and all the health problems that go with it. We would be a healthier and happier society if we change that ourselves.

Riverwind, I guess I need to clarify somethings. In a controlled traning exercise with police officers, the taser is given to them. They are stressed out some due to the new experience of the taser shock. But overall they are calm because help is right here to get them back up or help them in case things go wrong. Generally (yes I know the donut shops) police are in better shape than the average citizen. Not all cops are in above average phisical condition (hell some are not even up there in the mental capacity, which makes them just as dangerous) but the better shape you are in, the better you are after a taser hit. Switch this to an uncontrolled situation where panic/frustration and very high levels of stress come into play. The first aid is not always RIGHT there after the shock. The cops in this situation are more concerned about themselves than the person getting tased. Subdue first. The controlled studies regarding the taser guns are flawed because of the scenarios provided above.

He is also saying that the IRS is unconstitutional and there is no Federal Law that states you must pay taxes or be jailed. Trex I have watched many of Lou Dobbs reports. It is amazing how he points out the flaws in many areas. He has important information that needs to get out there.

Jerry S I live in Ottawa, and you should see the developement around here. Large condo complexes, large row housing, larger single units ... everything is bigger bigger bigger, resulting in a higher cost for the new homebuyer. It is also the market creating the WANT/NEED for bigger houses. When most of us do not need a large ass house, considering where you spend the most time in the house. The market sucks us into thinking we need to keep up with the Jones's to make us feel and look good. It is this market driven 'want/need' that is ruining things. People do not NEED large houses, they simply WANT large houses. For what purpose? The land developer is also getting cash from investors in order to make money on building houses for people to buy. Lenders also help those out buying the house. The lenders/banks own it all untill that day you pay it all off. If you miss a payment for whatever reason, the bank can take the house back. And you are screwed. Leafless This is a spot on point here my friends. My aunt and uncle have been renovating their house on a yearly basis for the last 15 years. Eveytime they invest money into the house, they are eventually going to loose money on the house due to all the renovations. They might get a higher price than when they originaly bought it, but with all the improvements, they are still going to have a large net loss of all the money invested into astheticaly improving their home. Now if you do not have enough cash for the project, the bank will simply loan you money at an interest rate, so in the end, you loose initially on interest on the project, and then loose money after the project is done (the total value will be less than the overall investment and the homeowner looses in the end anyways). And if you miss payments, the bank can take it all away, because you probably put the house up or something else as collateral. That is not including the yearly taxes that are imposed on a homeowner as Leafless has mentioned here. The bank seems to always gain somehow. And when banks are recording record profits for the past few years, I fail to see how the banks could possibly loose here.

If anyone serious enough to ask her serious questions won't ever get a serious answer. I might ask her "If your death resulted in world peace and and end to bigotry and evil around the world, would you commit suicide?" That is about as serious as I can get with her. For her rhetoric is ... mindnumbing.
