A government that won't respect and uphold the Constitution doesn't deserve your vote.

Oh for sure. He'll also have troops in the streets!
-
That's true Shady, but you would think that knowing something about the constitution may be classified as "experience"? Or maybe being white is all the experience one needs?
-
Not necessarily. Unless you want our representatives all to be lawyers. I'd rather from all walks of life.

A long article, but one well worth reading on Harper's history in politics. http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/oct/15/stephen-harper-master-manipulator

Ah the old shoot the messenger approach.
-
When the messenger has an agenda, sure.
-
It's quite easy to fact check the message, especially when you are talking a high profile public figure.

A step in the right direction? "Iran’s president Rouhani has said that equal opportunities, social rights, and equal responsibilities should be considered for women." http://en.mehrnews.com/detail/News/102665

According to FOX, solar power only works in Germany because they have more sun than the United States.

According to Paul Calandra in QP today, Santa's a Canadian citizen.

Most Canadian's have long since known that. Jeez these conservatives have so much to learn!
-
He is kind, old and overweight...yeah sounds about right.
-
"Santa" was a Greek.

Adding to the list of how Trudeau is failing progressive votes, his party voted against studying the effects of mincome in today's economy.

Rationalize away however you want.
-
Par for the course for the LPC. They are far more focussed on saying what they think people want to hear in a campaign, than they are actually following through on the policy.
Mincome is a lot like national daycare in that politically, you need to be able to convince a certain segment of the population that it's still to come, but to keep support from another equally important segment it's also very important not to actually ever do it.
-
This isn't a vote to implement it. It was a vote on a feasibility study. They Liberals wouldn't even do that, despite their promises.

After getting lit up by Rosemary Barton, Chris Alexandre cancels his morning interviews and "temporarily suspends" his election campaign. Must be soothing those burns.

So would you be happy with a socialist government in power forever?
-
I'd be happier with a government that is more honest, more respectful of our constitution, and more democratic.
-
So after how many years of ndp rule would you want them removed from office?

Al Baldasaro from Trump's campaign has said for the third time now that Clinton should be shot for treason.

Firing squad is a little old fashioned. I'm sure prison would be more likely.
-
You're right Hal. Then there's the cost of the bullet. Who would pay for that.

All 50 US states are below freezing. Can we give the global warming nonsense a rest now?
- Show previous comments 6 more
-
All that matters is that I'm warm.
-
Regional weather doesn't = global climate. 1 cold year doesn't = climate.
-
Yep, there are them whut reckon's if it was cold in Hooterville today it dang well musta been cold evrawhere.
-
All those status updates about the cold this winter and not one about the Antarctic collapse nor the exceptional drought conditions. Weird.

spot on!

If a status update gets beyond 10 comments, maybe it should go in a thread? Just a suggestion.

I did some "gzinta's today to figure out how much water/ice it would take to raise the sea level 4 feet. Big numbers and I think I need a beer.
-
Almost all of the national polls this weekend have Obama ahead by 2-3% in the national popular vote. For Romney to win, just about every poll would need to be biased towards Obama.
-
It should be noted these polls have much larger sample sizes too. For example, YouGov polled 36,000 likely voters this time.
-
Gallup was way out last time, but Rasmussen wasn't. However, the more polls that are in agreement, the more likely it is that their results are not due to a statistical or sampling error.

Amari of Japan mentions 70 year IP extension to the press. Harper Government summary fails to mention this major change for Canada.

Yeah. Michael Geist is blowing his lid on Twitter.

no worries - Harper said we're covered!

no full TPP public text to be released... for "weeks"! Now isn't that special?

An interesting data visualization of refugee flights to Europe. This is not immigration, but refugee flight. http://www.takepart.com/article/2015/10/28/map-that-shows-how-huge-europes-refugee-crisis-really-is?cmpid=tp-ptnr-yesmagazine

Andrew Coyne is back! He has resigned as editor of Editorials and Comments for the National Post. He will remain a columnist.
-
Andrew Coyne on Harper: "The long, triumphant, disgraceful career of Jean Chrétien, on whom he increasingly seems to model himself..." Ouch.

I agree MG. but Chrétien was, by far, the better PM.
A lot of progressive and forward thinking policies happened under JC.
Marriage equality, removing corporate/union influence from political parties to name a couple.

"And so we get this damp recital of past slogans, this parody of a parody of an empty cliché of a speech, this 4,000-word migraine." - Coyne

Ouch.

Hey hey squid. This is the Vicar of Christ we're talking about. From now on, I do what he says, without question.

apparently Chrysler liked Romney's Jeep comments so much that they gave all their employees the day off to vote

Are we all cool with the Conservatives designing a full page campaign ad to look like an Elections Canada notice?
- Show previous comments 8 more
-
The NDP in Edmonton have twice had front page ads stating how close they were in a couple of ridings, and to vote for Mulcair even though neither is his riding. The latest ad was a few days ago. The polls they cite are from mid August and mid Septemeber.
-
Did the look like Elections Canada announcements?
-
Arguing with someone about science that is completely uneducated, irrational, and unreasonable doesn't seem very amusing anymore. It's boring and futile.

Arthur knocked out my hydro Saturday morning at 9:30am. The utility company estimates Tuesday night between 11pm and midnight before we will be back up and running. Trees uprooted everywhere. Traffic lights out all over the city. Almost everyone in the city lost power. It's a mess.

Man oh man, after the winter the east coast went through and now this!
-
The combined efforts of Maine Hydro, Hydro Quebec, and NB Power got us back up and running 75 hours from when our power first went out. My fridge and freezer are disasters.
-
And let me guess, you probably just stocked both up.

At campaign events in August, Mulcair answered 258 questions, Trudeau answered 204 questions, and Harper answered 102 questions.

I like how the Harper crowds boo the media when they ask difficult or uncomfortable questions...
These people really don't care about truth...
-
They do more than boo the media at times as well.

You POS are LIARS!
