I will conceded to your point i have not meet every Muslim and there is always the exception. That and most Muslims I've meet were in conflict zones... I think everyone's primary religion as you called it is economical, it is what drives most cultures.... I think women of Bangladesh are being held back due to religion or equality....I think resources are what is driving reduced population growth....everything is becoming more expensive and that drives the size of families, (my Opinion) where in yester year large families were due to survival/ life expectancy...

I'll admit PP is not my favorite conservative, but he is all we have right now that could compete...Those that i would vote for are not interested in the job...My opinion is right now we need someone that has the leadership abilities to pull together the party, and develop support from out side parties. There is so much that is wrong with this country right, and we need someone that can be ruthless, but fair, in changing liberal policies that are holding back development in this country, repair our reputation amongst our allied, start fixing our federal and provincial departments getting our country back.... So who would replace PP...

Not saying your survey is false, but in my experience, the Muslims i have meet abroad and here in Canada do not support your point....Most are very devout to their religion, and all of its culture...I find that the richer the nation the more relaxed it's religious beliefs are like UAE, SA, turkey. The poorer the nation the more devout they are...Libya, Syria, Afghanistan etc...But i want to be very clear, even the rich Arab nations are much more religious than say Canada or the US....by 10 fold...

That's not good economics, and don't take my word for it ask any one in Greece....They had the EU dictating their finances for years until they paid back money that was loaned them....You can borrow money that's not the problem, it is paying it back that becomes a problem, even the PBO states and warns that right now before this budget Canada is over extended....and there is no room in case we have an emergency or the next covid...I know Liberals don't pay much attention to the deficit, but it is there in big bold numbers...

I see the good idea fairy's have come out in full force...It takes years of training and experience just to build a good JR NCO....My question is who is going to train these 400,000 people....If and when a major conflict/ national emergency happens who is going to respond and who if any is left going to train....This is not WWII were a soldier could get away with 11 weeks training then off to war, today even an infantry soldier has to train on the latest equipment.... This plan looks like it was taken from WWI achieves, when reserve soldiers out number regular (professional ) soldiers by 1000 to one... and most of those reserve soldiers learned their craft on the battle field...those that were not fast learners were buried in some far off grave site...And it did not get that much better in WWII. Lets not even talk about maintaining 400,000 soldiers...the recruitment alone would be out of this world, and what do we equip them with...your going to need more than 5 %.....of GDP....we are 28 bil it cost to maintain sort of 60,000 troops and 28, 000 reservist...and our equipment sucks, training dollars are almost non existent...a good portion of most of that is spent on wages and bonuses...that 28 bil is going to 64 bil this year, and really most of the procurement dollars have yet to be announced... Good on them for at least thinking about the Idea for the future....but we should be concentrating on the regular forces training and equipping The army use to train 8 months out of the year....and now is lucky to get 2 months....and incorporating entire reserve units in with each Regiment, with that Regt responsible for that entire reserve unit training , and those reserve units equipped in a mirror image to the regs... Same as the air force and Navy to act as national emergency responders plus act as a casualty replacement pool for reg units.

Counter tariffs punish Canadians which buy American products, and like most Canadians will find another alternative...so yes it is short term pain for Canadians but only to those that continue to buy American products , and in the mean time Canadians will move on to cheaper products, made some place else... So it does achieve something....Like trumps tariffs are doing, forcing American to buy American products instead of the more expensive Canadian products...in the long run it is the manufactures that will pay on both sides, in the long term trumps tariffs will benefit Americans by changing their spending habits...

The 5 % new target was put in place because so many NATO countries had let slide their spending , it is not goin g to be this high forever, just until everyone starts to get caught up...As for Canada even at 2 % we would not be able to field much more than we have right now, which is not much when our deployment to Latvia is stressing out our combat numbers... Last thing Canadians needs to do is freak out about 5 % of GDP when we have starved DND for the last 30 plus years....we need this to replace the JUNK we have now for much more modern equipment...and while we may not give a shit about current serving members, i want to remind you....if and when a crises does come, it will be your sons and daughters that will be manning that equipment....The world has never been closer to another world war than it is today.... What we should be demanding is Canada start moving on this spending to equip our forces to at least give them a fighting chance when the next crises comes...because it is coming...And like every crises we have faced as a nation it has come at the cost of our young sons and daughters, before we started paying for equipment that saves lives....That fact seems to fly over most Canadians heads...

Canada has collected 3 bil in tariffs, the remaining 17 bil will be in Carneys budget , that much as already been released to CTV...So either we pay it now, or add it to the deficit to pay later...your not saving anything just postponing when it gets paid...

We are buying new subs that are capable of doing just that...spend weeks at a time submerged...required to operate under the ice cap in the artic....The best possible option would be a fleet of Nuc subs...how ever brits are concentrating on their new subs, and not building any more of the current type....American navy has a need for any and all subs they produce....not many options left to have them produced...or wait 20 years for the manufacturing line ups to get caught up...

I'm not a sub guy, but i like the type 214 as well, it has more stealth, and Spec ops capabilities, plus able to attack or defend bottom of the sea infra structure...plus like you said not something the Chinese has influence on...The problem lays with delivery dates....our subs will be long retired before TKMS can build us replacements....

Why would it sit in the ground, the world is far from whining itself off oil...And while Canada might have a lip on for Alberta it still needs oil as well trump is setting up more pipelines linked to Alberta , it loves cheap Canadian oil...as long as Alberta has oil it will have customers... The price is going to be paid by both sides, there will be a landslide of provinces looking for a new home...it might not happen all at once but Ontario and it's economy is not enough to provide for the roc, Trump will be waiting with bargain basement offers... According to the commander of Canada's naval forces he says Subs are more important to protecting our sovereignty than any surface vessels could..., but one would think that the commander of our Navy would know a few things about the navy...and what he needs for future conflicts...

I agree, Canadians had sticker shock with the F-35 purchase, this project is going to cause heart attacks.......Navy Commander did propose a mix fleet solution because they need subs yesterday...Carney does not want a split contract to much work and not enough off sets....... And to be honest Canada does not have one idea on how to make subs...it requires more skill than building surface ships....Besides this is a politic al decision now, Military has already shared their opinion and Carney will pick the one that has the most votes tied to it....

There are 4.5 million plus Albertans , if your going to use the same standards as Quebec the vote would need 50 plus percent of the vote....your 465,000 represent only "about" 10 % of the population....Those signatures would have a choice to make stay in Alberta and live with the results, or pack up and leave.... US has already made it clear they would take in Alberta no questions asked....which most likely include Sask, maybe Manitoba....which would give those provinces a huge bargaining chip in any negotiations...And with trump in power i don't see how this could work out for the ROC, and BC would become land locked....Your source paints a grim picture....but i don't think it is a grim as it looks....I don't really see the ROC standing alone, with Ontario being the only economical viable province striped of its steel, aluminum, not to mention automotive industry being gutted... they would be easy targets for Trump to swallow up....It would no be long for the American flag to be flying every where....

It is relevant....when the feds and provincial government have cocked up the entire system by under funding it, like most governmental departments...IF they cant run it so it works , get out of the way....and let someone else run it...Private health care works as well , you get what you pay for....let our government run it ands you have people dying in the waiting rooms. Pay for private health care and you get in to see people the same day, and not have to wait for 18 plus hours...
