  1. He didn't reform the senate. There was nothing that prevented people from appointing either people from other parties or non-affiliated people. Pretty sure Harper said he would appoint people from other parties if they were elected.
  2. So instead of appointing senators directly, you appoint people to appoint them for you. Basically same thing, but the second one costs tax payers more money.
  3. Harper did mostly refuse to appoint senators due to wanting reform. Trudeau doesn't really want reform. Though how he's pretended to do reform is politically impressive.
  4. Canada has changed its constitution in the past.
  5. Bill Nye thinks that if we do not mitigate CO2 emissions that humans will be extinct by 2030. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmrsbY3MCZs
The misinformation that the public receives on this import issue is concerning.

Since when is YouTube or other USA media the first or last word on so called "climate change"?

      Who said it was?

  6. New Zealand abolished their senate.
  7. Phillip Mason did a debunking video of the hyperloop. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNFesa01llk
  8. Or... you just abolish the senate. The ndp has the correct position.
  9. To be closer to allah and to get to the magical afterlife. The problem is it is sexist. Are you okay with a white-only swimming pool excluding non-white people?
  10. Imagine that there are still white people that feel too shy to swim with black people. It would not be seen as an exaggerated accommodation to give them 1 hour per week at the pool... right? There is another option. It's called the Burkini.
  11. That was sort of my point. It's hypocritical. That's sexist man. Some women are very strong and some men are very weak. It depends. Not all heterosexual males are rapists and not all men are heterosexual.
  12. Lesbian and bisexual women can gawk at other women. Your justification for discrimination on the basis of sex is very heterocentric.
  13. You have to understand that words like 'progressive' and 'liberal' have changed in meaning over the course of centuries. The first British MP to support women getting the right to vote was John Stuart Mills. Yet he was a classical liberal, which is fairly different from what Trudeau is.
  14. Pulling fire alarms and yelling over people is criticism? How about tresspassing or blocking people to go to private speaking events where a speaking group paid for space to hold that event? Could you name something Cathy Young said that should not be 'tolerated'?
  15. Watch the Red Pill by Cassie Jaye. There will probably be screenings in Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver.

  16. So BCers want to get rid of the most competent provincial government in the country (which, admittedly, isn't saying much)?
  17. Also, like the entire debt of Ontario. As for half a century... are you suggesting that Ontario only spends 2% of it's gdp on energy, because it is far higher than that.
  18. Obama has given the internet to the UN. It no longer is controlled by a country with the first amendment. This is extremely concerning. Unfortunately, Trump being an idiot buffoon has taken away basically all media attention from this important issue.

Oh wonderful from your article: 'government representatives', 'public interest organizations' will 'advise' on what to do. They will vote and 'governments will have more authority in ICANN than they do currently'. You don't think that they will use their influence to try to get things banned that they disagree with?

I feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Given that countries like Saudi Arabia think that human rights include the right to not be offended and for your religion to never be criticized, expect increased 'human rights' online thanks to this change.

Still has nothing to do with the American 1st Amendment.  Even the Canada has more speech restrictions.

  19. I also think that repeat male rapists should be castrated. If someone is a criminal that goes around raping people, they should lose their 'right to control their own bodies' or whatever.
  20. I think that forced abortions in cases where men are raped are justified (provided the rape victim wants to terminate the pregnancy). You shouldn't reward rapists with a child.
  21. Sounds like some of the justification used in Saudi Arabia to ban alcohol or ban homosexuality. Russia uses it to ban gay propaganda. SJWs are trying to use it to ban video games and censor the internet. Most people that engage in prostitution and marijuana are doing it as consenting adults and not as 'vulnerable' people. Never said you did. It's all nonsense fairy tales to me. Don't care where you were born or where your ancestors came from. If you are an authoritarian that hates freedom it would be preferable if you left and went somewhere else. I don't do drugs and I'm asexual. But despite that I can still support freedom and people's right to choose to do things in their own free time as consenting adults that doesn't harm anyone else.
  22. Yeah, if you are against freedom, maybe you should go live in Saudi Arabia. Legalization of dope doesn't go far enough. We should legalize magic mushrooms, cocaine, heroin, LSD, acid, etc. as well. And tax it all of course.
  23. Well in sweden, 'anti-racist' groups protest gay pride parades in swedish areas.
  24. Idk, the free market person is the evil hateful person who is angry. Where as the public sector proponent is a happy smiling person who is dancing with Canada flags. Subliminal message: if you love Canada, you should be a public sector proponent. In particular, love the CBC and vote for parties that will give us more funding.
  25. Love how they make free enterprise advocates look evil and public sector proponents look good.
