  1. In spite of the fact that all of history proves it doesn't work and in fact makes things worse. Dream on, in your fundie socialist fantasy world.
  2. No, no, no. The Libs or the NDP will cancel the contract, wait five years, then do the same thing at twice the price. See H-101.
  3. You, sir are wrong. I have never been to China, but I have been to Venezuela, and that was even more scary than being in the hinterlands of Mexico. Have you ever been in either of those places beyond the touristy areas?
  4. I am willing to accept that. They get equal billing on our televised debates. They are not shot as traitors. It's my turn. They have cost me and mine so much over the years for what purpose? Let them go. But no freaking foreign aid for them.
  5. What increased voter turnout? Haven't seen it yet.
  6. More total partisan lefty BS. Get a brain, or some verifiable facts.
  7. I'm not so sure. The Bloc just wants to separate Quebec, which I'm still not sure is such a bad thing. But the NDP want to tax and spend us to death.
  8. I have this vision of all kinds of people relating to Layton. Lets face it, the guy has charisma. Does he have any talent? We don't know cause he has never had to perform. It is very easy to sit on the sidelines and criticize. So I see herds of voters who are on the Layton (note I say Layton and not NDP) bandwagon, going into the voting booth and then having sober second thoughts. (Like the Senate put-down?) So we shall see on the second.
  9. And I thought I was a cynic. The libs, historically, have lied. The NDP have never been in a position to have their potential lies tested. I honestly believe the Cons have at least tried. I got burned bad by the Cons unit trust lie. Still pisses me off. But they are probably closer to their ideology than the Libs, and as I said, no track record for the NPD.
  10. I would guess that Lib supporters are abandoning the ship in large droves, if that isn't a redundancy. The question is, will their lifelong animosity of the Cons cause them to go NDP, or will the hate of the fact that the NDP pushed them out make them go Con. It is very interesting in this election.
  11. Like the Conservative parties in both Saskatchewan and BC, sometimes there is so much baggage that it is time to re-brand. I think that may have happened to the federal Liberals already. Perhaps they will become the new Social Democrats, or whatever.
  12. Reefer madness???/??
  13. You just barely beat me to it.
  14. @mikedavid00: Yes. Unfortunately this is yet another thing that parents are failing on terribly. So I guess the government supplied daycare, more commonly called schools, need to do more. Perhaps suspend photography classes and other stuff like that and teach the kids some civics and economics? I hate being a way out radical here but ..................
  15. And do you plan to address the rest of my post?
  16. That is a really, really weak analogy. And so are you suggesting that we wait, and wait and wait. Because no matter what we do, at some point something better will come out. Bought a computer lately?
  17. I'm sure you are wrong about that. I actually paid $10 to join the CPC because at that time I lived in his riding, and wanted to vote against him. There was a great candidate who was contesting the riding nomination. But somehow, the powers that be in the riding managed to arrange things such that my membership, and a very large number of others weren't "activated" or whatever the correct word is till two days after the nomination vote.
  18. And how much content would the JSF or the F-22 or whatever alternatives there are would be Canadian? A bunch of my ex-airforce buddies say the F-35 is the only one.
  19. Do you know something I don't know?
  20. You don't need to be afraid of Anders. He is the total puppet of the back-room boys in his riding. Don't know who they are. Don't know what they want because Anders never does anything anyway. Mock him but don't fear him. Freaking joke!
  21. How about a relevant question perhaps?
  22. This one don't fly. Trudeau and Chretien were way worse. Mulroney was sort of open, but had a large enough majority, and Clarke lost exactly because of his not dictating to his troops. So Harper studied, learned, and is acting upon this excellent lesson taught by Trudeau and Chretien.
  23. No argument from me, but even after all these years, the saying makes me chuckle.
  24. To quote my father's favorite saying, "If you're so smart, why ain't you rich?"
  25. Yes, he left his mark, and many of us still have the scars to prove it.
